  • After your hero, the villain is arguably the most important character in your novel. The struggle with the villain is what prompts the hero to grow. So, how do you create great villains? Watch the video for a simple and effective technique that works not by making your villains more villainous, but paradoxically, by imbuing them with qualities of goodness.

Villans are easy - it’s interesting protagonists who aren’t too dull that are difficult!

Yes I agree. Goodness is boring in fiction. It's OK in real life though :)

The passages on disfigurement and the burden, were most insightful - that Shelley could understand this, and write with such compassion, so Meaningfully, has always been a mystery. How could she Know? A detail in such a magnificent novel.
A note. Misery making One a fiend - pain burns away the veneer of humanity, of weakness, and some Villains can't be redeemed.
No pity for the Devil as it were.

She was only 18, too, when she wrote it, which is pretty mind-blowing.

@@TheOxfordWriter The prose is curiously similar to that of her husband. Maybe he was trying to avoid a potential stint of hard labor!

A request!?! Hmm…I hear a lot about finding your own unique voice in writing, but then we’re supposed to give each character their own unique voice too. That’s a lot of unique voices to perfect, and I sometimes feel like I get lost in it all. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The content is wonderful, and the audio has outstanding quality. Almost an ASMR.
What microfone and software do you use?
