As you can see in the video, the cake will rise and fill the tin almost to the top. If you don't have such high 8 inch tin I think it's better if you use a wider one so (maybe 10inch?) that does not need to be 6inch high. - Here the baking time might be shorter - you would have to watch it. You could also divide the mixture in 2 and bake it twice (or use two 8 inch tins if you have).
