Isn’t it hilarious (sometimes) when kids mimic what we do without being taught. They are little sponges. My heart melted when I saw Benjamin kick over the plant can and started digging. I’m sure he wasn’t taught that little trick that Laura is famous for 🥰!!! So adorable.

I would recommend putting in a more mature type swim to replace the baby one…my girls are 12 and 10 and love going out and just swinging and singing…and the pathways are spectacular!! What a surprise!

The kiddy swing is being used less and less tells me it’s a great opportunity to replace it with an old fashion swing, either a tire swing or one of the board and cord swing now that they have outgrown that one.
Agreed! There is no need to go out and buy an expensive swing set (which looks like an eyesore). I have such great memories of tire and board swings!

That pathway does define the space and it is breathtakingly beautiful. Shows you how important hardscape can be. My goodness, Benjamin is getting tall, and him wanting to plant and then do the commentary is so adorable. Those coral roses are so beautiful. The sumacs are getting huge.

The swing looks so sweet hanging there.
Maybe after the kids don’t use it anymore and you start developing the area you could just leave it as a memory hanging amongst the new plants. Or replace it with a simpler plank/rope swing. That would look very sweet hanging amongst the well-planted bed, and be a wonderful memory for you.
