Another great video team!! I was wondering/hoping if we could get a video explaining about how you end up winning stuff in the 3D and 4D (obviously not a barrel racer, just love watching you guys and the horses and the vibes and energy you all put into the videos), I just don’t understand how the placings work at all. Is there times that you have to fit into to qualify for different classes(1D,2D,ect.)?😊
I'm hoping someone can explain it to me, too, how Codi can do better time-wise but not get a check? (I'm not a barrel racer.) Came to the comments looking for answers.
I just wrote a whole paragraph about it and it never showed 😭😭😭
The classes are determined by the leading time. The time ranges for each class then are +X time.
Not using real numbers - like, if you ran half a second slower than the leading time, you'd be in the 2D class. Three quarters of a second slower? 3D class.
I honestly don't know the time ranges. I just got curious enough to go sniffing around the internet to figure out what the heck these 1D, performance, slack, jackpot, open, etc terms were.
There (usually, I'm no rodeo expert!) will be a class entered in. Say, Fallon is in one age group and Codi is in a different age group. So Fallon could win a check in her class, with a slower time than Codi. And then I've gathered from watching a bunch of barrel racing there's an open class, too. It seems like everyone's times get tossed in the open class. Maybe. 🤣

Fallon I really want to barrel race but we don’t have a horse and nobody has any lessons for barrels. Any advice on that?
My tips would be to start by looking for a trainer then maybe look for a horse to lease to try barrel racing out so if u don’t like it u don’t have a horse that u already bought so I kinda hope this helps!

@@Gabi-in8ny I’m not 100% on this…I show western pleasure lol. But from what I gather the divisions are based on timing. So if codi was faster than fallon she would have finished in a higher division but not fast enough to place in that division. Fallon was just slow enough to fall into 3D but fast enough in that division to place. Am I confusing you?

i love hushmoney she slayed. codi and mojo slayed i’m so proud of y’all. and journey to the juvenile is slaying you slay so hard in the dirt fallon i’m waiting on the tacktical drop and i’m saving up for a saddle so i’ve been working my tail off. not only am i working but im riding 2-3 times a week to make my horse phenomenal. i love everyone of y’all and i can’t wait to meet y’all one day. (hopefully in perry) 🫶🏻🩷
