I had exactly the same error. I contacted the Ravensburger support after I was not able to reflash the firmware. All the other approaches like delete the flash drive content like audio files, reset (10 seconds power button press) and so on did not help. The warranty period of 24 months was over in my case but the support person was directly willing to send a new tiptoi pen after I explained the error. It kind of feels like they know about this error and there is nothing you can do on your own as a non-professional user with no technical understanding. I would have tested deeper but for my generation 3 editon with WiFi there exist no documentation so far on how to get the Chomptech ZC3205L Chip into boot mode by loading GPIO13 pin with a resistor to GND. I also found no other firmware for this chip, but only for the ZC3203L of earlier versions of the tiptoi pen. Description of the error: The pen doesn't react to any input for exactly 120 seconds after power-up. The LED is solid green during this time. After 120 sec. you get audio feedback of the volume button again and the pen can be switched off again. But never ever the pen can read the OID codes of a book/game. Therefore, it is useless for its application. Test Menu: There is a test menu available in chinese. Use google translator for better understanding. To enter the test menu press and hold down volume - and the power button at the same time for a second or two. After 120 seconds (or directly if your pen works fine) you will hear a chinese female voice and you can go through the test menu with + and - volume buttons loopwise. The tests cover the pen's tip sensor, WiFi, data structure, audio test sounds, microphone and so on. Wifi can be tested directly by pressing and holding + volume and power button until the LED turns purple and a chinese voice turns on to indicate that WiFi will be tested now. The pen can be switched off by holding down the power button (also with the non-reacting pen error as shown in the video).
