    I was curious! Where the Batmobile is placed, did you first use a 360 camera (like the Ricoh Theta) on a tripod to capture an HDRI so that the batmobile matches the scenery? Was curious to what the HDRI capturing method was. I wish I had known Cinema 4D had that tracking button feature. I always use Boujou and would go through painstaking tracking. This is so much better.

      I actually just used HDRIHaven.com the trick is that the car has a matte finish. But I used an hdri that had the same color concrete and grass and tree around it. really anything that can capture the 360 image from the pov of the object u want to reflect would be ideal.

      Hi, thank you for watching. Make sure you reclick any constraint tags to unselect the tag, sometimes it stays clicked and won't let you click. I also have had issues where where the motion tracker has to be deleted and I have to start over cuz it just freezes up and stops responding. I think its user error for me but I have gotten in the habit of saving often and also using my autosave files. Without seeing ur scene i cant really give u a solid fix answer but make sure your tags are active cuz sometimes that does it and maybe save and re-open? let me know if that helps at all.. sorry i couldnt give you a more straight forward fix.

      I use Redshift. But you have several options. You can render it all out without a background and with an alpha channel then in AE or Fusion composite it on top of the actual footage. Or I'm not familiar with what Octane has, but there might be a away to choose a back plate or maybe a flat environment either through settings or lights or possibly environments? In redshift I have it on a Dome light, in those settings there is a box called back-plate, there after converting the movie file to a jpeg sequence i can link to an animation of those as the back-plate :) I'm sure Octane probably has a way, I just don't know it.

    Shaky is good for tracking?

    • @effectatron
      @effectatron  5 років тому

      yep, 1. it helps it look more real, and 2 it provides more parallax for the camera to track and calculate the space.

    • @marcelobaus
      @marcelobaus 5 років тому +1

      @@effectatron I'm pretty sure you're mistaken...
      1. Shakiness creates motion blur which is bad for tracking. You should remove the shakiness, track the footage and then apply the shakiness over the finished footage to make it look real, it works the same way when you have a distorted footage.
      2. Shakiness doesn't provide parallax, the distance between foreground and background objects that creates parallax. As further the object is, slower it´s going to move and as close it is, faster it´s going to move, and that´s how it calculates the space.

    • @effectatron
      @effectatron  5 років тому +1

      I understand. Thank you for your reply. obviously if its too shaky it won't provide a good track, but in my experience handheld tracks better than Movii or stabilizers. But they do also track and shakiness can be added for a realistic result, you are right about that. Yes parallax is calculated by the back ground moving in relation to the foreground object and shakier footage provide more than a linear movement for parallax, which can help the track. Stabilizer shots will also track but in my experience the handheld actually track a little cleaner from the git go.
      you are not wrong, thank you for your input. @@marcelobaus

    • @effectatron
      @effectatron  5 років тому +1

      You do bring up a good point I forgot to address in the video and that is motion blur and shutter speed. For tracking shots like the one in my video I tend to use very high shutter speed which will decrease or eliminate motion blur. I used 1/2000 for the video. Making each frame very crisp which allows for a good track. Certain scenarios don't allow for high shutter speed and in those cases you must be conscious about the amount of motion blur that you will get. motion blur will effect tracking results and may require more manual tracking. Motion blur can be added back into the scene with fx such as force pixel blur or other effects. Commonly for a film look you use double the shutter speed of your framerate, which does create motion blur. But some cases you can get away with sharper images and add it back in after. Less motion blur in the original footage will allow auto tracking to preform better, but it is not always the necessary or an option.

      After a successful track and having the motion tracker selected it should show up. I have had instances where it doesn' t give me the option, but I haven't figured out the cause, but a new motiontracker and track should fix it as well, I need to do some more tests to figure out why that happens.

      You can check the new video on motion tracking on EffectATron. It go into depth on it and how to get a solid track rather than one the wobbles. There’s not really a shortcut you just need to make sure u get the track right first via the right settings/conditions.

    • @melinoe6987
      @melinoe6987 5 років тому +3

      Effect-A-Tron, so sorry for the late replying, so I did it up to the step where you selected a point in the distance, and then you selected points to create the plane. What I’m confused about is.... I can’t move the plane at all, nor do I know how to hide the plane behind the video so that I can add a new object on top, for example, I’m trying to make a phone with hearts popping out of it, but I’m not sure how to place the object in and have it blend as you did with the car. And there isn’t as many tutorials for the r20.

    • @effectatron
      @effectatron  5 років тому

      @@melinoe6987 no worries. I have been playing around a lot with the motion tracking since this tutorial. You don't have to use point constraint first always. I'm assuming you are making ur plane from the create planar constraint? If you need to create more objects you can create them and copy and paste the constraint planes coords into the new object. As far as hiding it goes I suggest switching your display view to lines, this will wireframe the objects so you can see through them. Also in the attributes tab of your object there is an X-Ray button this enabled will make ur objects transparent in the Viewport :) I plan on doing more in depth tutorials on tracking soon. Thank you. Let me know if that helps? The scene you are trying to create may involve object racker which i am still experimenting with, it's a bit tricky.

      It depends on what effects you want to do. They both have their strengths and their weaknesses. C4D has more raw power and capabilities. But AE is much cheaper and easier to use. It really depends on what you are tracking for. :)

      Yes! U can tell the batmobile starts off partially frame. It would work in this track even if it started off frame as long as at some point your 3D asset comes into the frame and you have a good 3D solve camera :) Normally a good track can even go in and out of frame and that's what I love about it.
