My reaction to ads is either one of two things: I either don't notice the ad or (if it is too annoying) I will just pull the ripcord and leave the whole site. I happily pay to have an ad free experience on sites I use every day (YT/Spotify), but if I'm browsing Twitch and I am faced with 6 30-second ads back to back before I can even watch a second of the streamers content, I will literally just close the website and go watch YT or something. Not worth my time.

    • @ChipsCST
      @ChipsCST Рік тому +6

As a former Twitch enthusiast, it's the only reason I purchased Twitch Turbo: I essentially Lived on the site so having ads gone was mandatory. And it sucks too because some channels had ads disabled Only If I subbed to them so it kinda left me getting gifted subs rather than supporting them myself.

Early internet ads were also terrible. They would take up 10-25% of the entire page. And on a 28k or 56k modem, loading a ad that covers that much of your screen just dumps your entire experience. Then the ads with pop ups got rediculous - like 4-5 pop ups, each with music. Early ads were spam. Google really evolved that space to where they work and its more of a cooperative relationship. I used netscape back in the day and 15%+ of your brower was permenent rotating ads, it was obnoxious.

I think UA-cam should allow creators to insert their own sponsored ads without them having to be baked into the video. As some others have pointed out, the Palm Pre is the first smartphone with wireless charging as a possibility. The technicalities about it requiring a separate back don't eliminate it from the question and the charging ability was included later anyway. Thanks to Andrew for bringing this point to light, but just some specifics (L x W measurements in mm):
    131.5 x 64.2 - iPhone 13 mini
    146.5 x 68.1 - ZenFone 9 & 10
    146.7 x 71.5 - iPhone 14
But now the interesting part… the ZenFone is thicker than iPhone, so its total volume is actually 10.97-14.63% (for the zf9-zf10) BIGGER than the iPhone 14 (not a mini).
Even the iPhone 14 Pro is a significantly smaller phone than either ZenFone by volume.

I have this issue with Threats in the perspective of an artist. If you’re part of the artist community, you will know that the algorithm is just straight out crap where it pushes only reels, even a single image reel, more than their posts themselves, and that the posts have a really hard time reaching your own audience, where sometimes it will be less than 10% of your followers that even see it, much less interact with it, which is natural. Plus, the feed isn’t natural, it’s based on this algorithm, and you can’t change that like in Twitter. Also the censorship in Instagram was much worse than in Twitter and UA-cam, and that’s already a low standard. It was such a great platform before the zucchini bought it and it has just gotten worse and worse since 2020. Let’s say Threats is great right now. Who says it won’t just turn into Instagram 2.0?!

I think yes, it is an all rounder compact flagship King 👑
Happy this time they added wireless charging, a more efficient battery life due to a more efficient chipset, the top notch SD 8Gen2, so cool 😎
And yay they got the 512 GB storage on the 16 GB Ram, owesome specs providing top tear seamless performance!
With the Gimbal v.2, I would feel like a pro shooting a video footage while moving around!
Happy with the side selfie camera punch, in my opinion a better position for watching a full screen video. I see it as more practical than just having the symmetrical look of a centered selfie camera punch.
I am also a big fan of the practical flat display!
Doesn't matter the LPTO 2, as logically it might consume more battery for constantly switching back and forth between the different frequencies Hz.
The overall compact size is a breaze nowadays!
And the headphone jack, it's ever appreciated 😊
You get the charger, and the USB-C to USB-C in the box.
You also get a protective case.
I am hoping that the Software Experience and the Camera department will be up to my expectations!
To wrap up, I think it's the perfect phone for me, would keep it at least for 4 years and might go even beyond 🎉

    No chapters?
I wont ever forgive UA-cam for removing the dislike buttons NEVER.
The add on UA-cam is out of control, down right annoying.
UA-cam should let premium subscribers see the dislike button. I can't stress this enough. Only being able to see the positive is ridiculous.
In my opinion bye bye Twitter, hello Threads.

I never understand what makes Twitter so interesting for people like MKBHD or anyone else. at around 39:00 he said Twitter has DMs, image sharing, etc. well, FB has all of that too. politicians, celebrities, social media personalities, they are all on FB too

About ads…in PL, to watch a movie at the cinemas, you face 20/25 minutes of ads (and I’m not talking about movie trailers)

What I can say about UA-cam ads: I watch something I really want to watch that is 4 hours long, I get about 3 or 4 ads. I watch a series of 5 to 10 minute videos, I get 3 to 4 ads... PER VIDEO. I'm not sure if creators can pay to minimize ads or something like that, but at the rate of ads I get for the latter scenario? I don't want to reconsider going to a paid subscription. I just want to ragequit UA-cam. Surely that can't be the reaction they are going for. I was on the fence before, and now I feel pushed to pay for an experience I would like at a rate I don't have to pay for anything else. ESPECIALLY since I seem to be able to watch the content I REALLY want at a level of ads that I am quite comfortable with.
