This was a really interesting video. Could you do a future video explaining why the Ukrainian do not set up a divisional structure and why they have such high rate of desertion. 100 000 deserters is an insane number, it's almost as high as their casualties. How could they sustain their forces with such a rate of attrition?
Catastrophe? All the cheerleaders said Ukraine conducted an organized withdrawal and not a man was left behind while the Russians suffered a billion casualties to claim this insignificant town. In all seriousness the cognitive dissonance between what the online supporters of Ukraine say, many non-Ukrainian, and the actual realities on the ground is growing to such a degree as to be counterproductive. With people mass flaming those who state things like Ukraine doesn't have the strength to reclaim her 1991 borders in this war, which should be obvious to anyone with a basic understanding of the opposing forces and the resources still at their disposal. I personally felt Ukraine never had a chance in this war for the simple fact that Ukraine was more important to Russia than it was to the West. Russia had more resources and manpower to throw into the fight and grind down Ukrainian Resistance while from the outset Western support was tepid and mercurial. Extrapolating that trend out showed that like Finland in the Winter War, Ukraine could fight hard, fight well, make the Russians pay for every meter, but would eventually become exhausted and forced to give up land for peace, lest the nation collapse entirely.
Seek peace with the Russians, give the Russians what they want because the longer the war takes, the likelihood Ukraine will not exist because Russia is next door to Ukraine. The Russians have more money than Ukraine, and the Russians population is way bigger than Ukraine, so the Russians can get more soldiers than the whole Ukraine population. Most importantly, the Russians have oil and manufacture their own weapons. Russians can sacrifice 10 million of their population, and Ukraine can not sacrifice more than 2 million of their population. I hope peace comes now, i don't want any more death.
@@greywolf1155 The reason is mostly because the Russians do not consider this a war, hence they cannot commit large number of troops.... That is why the Russians use massive amounts of artillery, bombs, and drones to whittle down the Ukrainians as much as possible so that the Russians only needed to commit the very few troops to push the Ukrainians back. The Russians typically use 5-7 soldiers to take tree lines and other terrain features and mop up any Ukrainian resistance that survived the bombardment. The Russians would send platoons or companies in armored vehicles only when they enter towns and cities. This strategy relies on the notion that Russia spends days or weeks doing artillery preparation and they could produce munitions to keep pace with the consumption.
I believe that comparison to Debaltsebe and Ilovaisk is very wrong, given that these were small scale operations where locally organized pro-Russian forces were much more motivated... today, tables have turned...
Well, it's true, yes about the Russian troops, there were even Russian troops there, but compared to the current ones, there was still a militia with all possible armament without any standardization and definitely a total lack of any modern weapons, but good motivation certainly compared to the current RF troops or do you think full-blooded RF troops were working in Debaltsevo? No. In some places there was artillery support, there were specialists from the Russian Federation, many were from local regions. Do you think among local millions there would not be a couple hundred veterans from Chechnya, Afghanistan, Georgia and other hot spots?
@ precisely, and i won't respond to other bots. It was a popular revolt by pro-Russian citizens of Ukraine, militias and what not. Russians surely sent field agents and some mercenaries, but if anyone else came from Russia those were most certainly individual volunteers. Not like today when it's a full scale invasion.
In ten years, truth like this will have a much greater value then today.
Thanks for you’re work
Another one! Good work Mr Takacs.
The best analysis of the battle I have seen!
You're doing a great job my northern neighbor 👏 regards from 🇷🇸
Great analysis. You and history legends are my favorite channels reporting on the war.
The Ukrainian high command regards the 110 mech brigade as expendable. Last year they were sacrificed in Avdeevka.

My favorite map-and-funny-symbols guy is back!
Outstanding report! Thank you very much for the hard work.
The 110th mechanized brigade was left to die in Velika Novosilka
Good job thoughtful and careful with the data available.
Thank you for this excellent analysis!
Basements and bunkers offer little protection against thermobaric weapons.

Nice work, btw the 02:00 to 02:10 sounds very confusing
the 40th marine brigade seem to be a heck lot scarier than it other cousin like the 155th and the 810th
What is your view on the western and Ukrainian lack of air defense?

It is unbelievable that the Ukrainians successfully defended for so long, ie for 3 years.
We have great respect.

in both cases RUAF BTGRs were involved
locally organized pro-Russian forces? Hahahaha... Dumbest shit I heard this week.
