oh boy. i wanna see this show now now now now now. You Tube is the only way i can see any of it... thank you for posting! Paul Gross rocks.." break your legs" hahahahaha. i agree loudsky, this show is AWESOME!
It did, being a Canadian show, garner quite a lot of Geminis (the Canadian equivalent of an Emmy), so it certainly wasn't ignored. :D Fantastic moment from an amazing show.
I love this scene but Oliver's comment is silly! As a director, he knows actors can cry at will. Why is he so surprised that Geoffrey can? In the other hand..."break your legs!" is brilliant!
Ha ha Oh Paul Gross! You are the reason I still believe in Canadian Television and Cinema ^.^ Great Top-Notch Actor that can take on a variety of roles and a Wonderful Director too! Can't wait to see what future projects he does, *Sob* And Break Your Legs! xP
One of the best! Don't know why BBC didn't pick it up at the time. Maybe they thought a show about staging Shakespeare's plays was too elitist but it was brilliant. There are a couple of cast reunion broadcasts on Google where the actors discuss the making the series, and Paul and Martha talk about what it was like at home as a happily married couple playing Ellen and Jeffrey.
This scene. It just makes me so happy.

man this show is just... amazing. we are so starved of it in the UK
this clip never fails to make me laugh
Is it weird that I clapped at the end of this?
I was half a beat from jumping onto my sofa and bellowing, O CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN.
Oh I love this show, this is an awsome clip too!
This is the stuff that should get an Emmy, but alas, it's wrongfully ignored.

And alas, it's Canadian.
I believe it's out on DVD; also apparently it's available on Netflix, and there are episodes up here around the place.

It did win a bunch of Canadian awards, I believe. :)
