5:19 - Typo in the equation on screen, should be "times DMG% Multiplier" not "plus DMG% multiplier" (thank you Chen Zhiwei in the comments for pointing this out)
5:44 - I forgot to mention that with Weakness Break, "setting up windows for DPS" is for characters that build ATK/Elemental DMG/Crit. There's another DPS archetype that's called "break DPS" which just focuses on the one time extra damage you get when you deplete the enemies toughness bar. Sushang is a great example of a "break DPS" with the way her kit works and I discuss this in my other Star Rail video here: ua-cam.com/video/v3vPunwr7to/v-deo.html
Other than that, hope you enjoy Star Rail content and don't forget to follow my 2nd channel, where I might cover the game further if time permits! www.youtube.com/@MeowreiiTwo
Good guide, looking forward to the game's release. Thanks for putting this together, more H:SR content is welcome!
Really well thought out battle-guide for newbies. Thank you so much!
You explain it really well. Please do more.
This is very helpful for newbies. The turn based gameplay will make this widely different from genshin and HI3 because you can’t just mindednessly attack enemies, in genshin and HI3 you do have to pay attention to synergy you can spam attacks and ultimates where as in honkai star rail not setting up the right teams will massively decrease your chances of winning that battle, as the toughness bar is very important to break.

This was super helpful thank you so much 😉😎✌🏻
Awesome breakdown. I'm a JRPG junkie, having played a lot of turned based RPGs (Final Fantasy, SMT/Persona, and the Trails series to name a few) and I'm glad to see Hoyoverse incorporating a lot of different elements from classic turned based RPGs with a few new features added in. Thanks for the rundown!
Very clean explanation of all important aspects of the game, I now finally understand how it works.
This video is really helpful thank you
really well explained ty
thank you meowy
THANK YOU!!!!!! ❤
Ayo i have watched your videos a couple on your main channel and i got to know what mic/audio setup do you use? It sounds nice and i love seeing you do some HSR content.
As a first time , trying out turn based game thanks ❤
Similar to persona 5 turn base system
as a turn based fan. I surely say that the mechanic is not that confusing. Until u try monster legend (it's freaking confusing lmao)
Being a genshin player this was really helpful to understand, altho many things are unique here so we'll get to understand them when we play
Yes! The first few seconds says sums it up "how hard can it be?" 😂
formula & numbers
those are my favorites as they easily set apart casual cc and cc that actually understand the game
I'm interested to see how I like combat in this game, as the only other turn-based games I've ever liked are the Persona games (weakness abuse is fun imo), but I'm willing to give this a shot!
Combat reminds me of the Trails of series
Yep, indeed. Particularly the S-Break mechanic, or the ultimate in HSR's case
I need to see if they buffed herta on release
oo interesting it lowkey reminds me of how octopath does combat, which makes me vv excited ngl
Nice guide, I like your voice
This is just my own observation but tbh it's just like in real life where when there's shielder enemy and u got all kind of character all of them has there own set on which they can break an enemy thought I think I might have gone far away from my description😅😂
does anybody know what the numbers on the left mean when you’re in battle?(the small ones the character turn list)
How do I pick what order my characters will attack in the team?
I opened it and it said, 'will start on 26th' :')
Can anyone help me? I updated star rail many times but my characters are paper white for some reason, they just have no color, no eyes (only the eye shadows) and literally no mouth, just paper white characters with a black outline and it annoys me so much I swear you don’t understand- please help me if you know how to fix this
is there a way to change the order my characters attack in for example when i enter i battle it makes me start with using pela but i want to use bronya at the start instead is there any way to change this?
Who moves first is tied to speed stats (viewable in the character menu). You're going to have to equip Bronya with relics and light cones that grant her extra speed so that her speed stat exceeds Pela's.
thanks for subs
Ahh great another artifact system, I'll have fun farming for those
Time to feed my gatcha addiction.
The RPG turn based game looks like the last remnant
Smt nocturne players: this is so easy, I beat Lucifer with a level 1 Ganesha.
Outgoing DMG = (Base DMG*DMG Taken Multiplier + DMG% Multiplier) * Toughness Multiplier
How do we + DMG% Multiplier?
Shouldnt we multiply instead?
That should be a multiplication sign correct. Mad at myself for that typo 😩

Long story short - F. this sh.t, i'm out for Fountaine region and Focalors in Genshin Impact.
I don’t understand why they made it to where u take turns hitting each other. Never have I been in a fight like that IRL
It’s a game genre, doesn’t have to be realistic.
@@benjaminly4104 lol doesn’t have to be realistic. Just needs to make some sense
Its so illogical right? It should resenble real life a little like Id create fire out my bare hands out of nothingness and throw them at my enemies. Now this makes sense
@@descendo24 lol that’s the worst straw man argument I’ve ever heard. Nice try tho
If you prefer hack n slash then I got good news for you. The same company has 2 great action games Honkai impact 3rd and Genshin impact. If you prefer super fast action then Honkai impact 3rd is perfect for you
bruh turn based combat is boring....if combat system was like genshin i would play it but meh...its waste now
Different taste I suppose. It's like you eating a kind of food.
Why they would make a genshin 2.0? Just enjoy the combat there dude, boring maybe for you, but there are plenty turn-based combat lovers and this game is just right for them. If I said genshin combat is actually really boring and comes down to pressing 3 buttons, would that make you feel great? :)))
@@xurru9736 turn based combat system is for the players with skill issue who cannot dodge.
and as if there are 10 buttons in honkai star rail.
