Space Engineers players freaking out over warfare update that has no new weapons meanwhile in From The Depths rando update: We're out of anime tiddies, here's a new weapon or whatever have fun.
i think plasma shots should scale their visible model size with damage, so we can easily see which shots are the "doom charges" (im thinking like 5m sphere of death)
As one of the people who tested plasma in the closed branch - it felt really well balanced even prior to release - in addition to what's in the patch notes, I know there have also been a bunch of new Neter craft updates in the patch and a ton more on the way due to plasma
Glad to hear it! I think it feels balanced too, for the most part. We'll have to see if anyone manages to make anything game-breaking with it. ... also I'm looking forward to LH craft cooking my canoes with plasma cannons. 😅
One thing I really like about the new Plasma weapon: it democratizes anti-heavy armor. As someone who has always struggled to build AP railguns to any level of mastery, this is a welcome addition.
Borderwise: *makes APS frag shotgun* FTD devs: "Did someone say... Shotguns?" I can imagine a jet or small and fast boat that buzzes around your craft and shotguns you to death. Or I can make a new awesome plasma tank for ashes that SHREDS those dang heavy armored tanks.
When you use it like a regular weapon, it feels pretty balanced. However, plasma alpha strike is ridiculous. I built a plasma cannon worth 120k mats with a 40 second reload that can mostly disable the singularity in one shot from the front, depending on where it hits.
It's got a very broad set of use cases, could be used for high powered blasts or low powered burst fire. Very versatile, it's like the APS of energy weapons.
Honestly i find plasma to be a bit too overpowered right now. Like, i get that stacked heavy armor is hard to defeat, but that is the whole point of stacked heavy armor, and we already have heavy armor piercing weapons like PAC and railguns to deal with it. I think the devs could have nerfed slopes in your armor, for example reduced armor value for blocks in front of slopes, kind of like the reverse of the buff you get from full armor blocks, this would have made heavy armor filled with slope blocks more balanced. Because right now, because of plasma, heavy armor vehicles in general are kind of useless, unless you just widen your ships with 2 or 3 air gaps (this makes HEAT and HESH even more obsolete since they get hit by those defenses too)
I love making CIWS; on one hand I'm happy that I have a new flavor of counter-dakka, but on the other hand I don't like how my beautifully tuned 2,000 RPM sustained ROF bricks of BRRRRT are now almost obsolete... On the other hand this might be a weapon other than PAC that I might actually be any good at!
Plasma isn't actually that great at CIWS - its main attraction is being nearly uncounterable and doing well against very high AC materials, neither of which matters for projectiles. APS remains the best overall CIWS.
yeaaaaaaa, I'm going to redownload FtD. I'm curious how well this will work as a dedicated AA system as I really want to replace all my 5 in flak guns with Plasma now.
I'm done buying video games until they STOP adding major features. I want to play a finished, coherent product, not have to constantly study like it's my job.

Flying Squirrel overhaul was great.
Me, someone who plays and enjoys both: YIPEE!
it added a (somewhat functioning) ricochet system and improved wheel collisions
but yea its nothing super impressive

I agree. Visually they're a little underwhelming at the moment.

Honestly I'm 110% down to just watch a video that shows off some of the coolest new ships added.

Not sure how I feel about plasma yet, I'll need to mess around with it more to find its use cases. I do know I want a flamethrower emitter, though
Borderwise got distracted by the new toys. 🤣
"Oh, shiny!" :D
13 hours! Fine, I'll get popcorn
I like how this is a counter against blocks of armor.
good to see that raming got an upgrade, makes the dream of the uber-nuke missile easier to realise
I feel the plasma cannon is what the particle cannon was supposed to be
Certainly an interesting patch. I concur with the plasma from my testing. A good weapon that scales well from small to big but isn't OP.
Let's go! Always happy to see BorderWise covering these things! These are really good content!

im just adding a comment for support . Have fun borderwise . i love you videos
Thank you! :D
btw you can als oplace the heat sinks on the bottom of the barrel.
Has anyone else never heard of this coming to the game? Damn it looks good tho.
Good vid, also please make more craft like your little plasma gunboat, i love him
I saw the lathrix video and it looks like it could be like aps or a doom cram

@@dreekfire721 its good to have as an option for dual purpose guns tho
GYATT DAMN
i tried to make a big plasma gun
many batteries were emptied in the span of minutes
Bruh im tempted to go to sleep early so i can wake up to watch this

Try the magnetic splitter it’s pretty nice
I have. It is indeed nice! :D
i wonder are these possibly a good option to shoot down cram shots ?
answer : obviously
Plasma only Neter when?
Never, because submarines will ruin my life if I tried that. :D
but, that actually sounds plausible.
I saw the update and was like "border wise update video"
Plasma bomber when?
Split emitor plasma bombers?
12 hrs remaining, cant wait to see this banger
So this isn't really the point of the video, but DAMN the Rook looks awesome.
*Imperial March starts playing*
Plasma lose vs Stack (or Gliched) Armor becous the DMG split
Look... to everyone crying about its role or its power... I don't care. I'm never using another weapon type. The aesthetic is too dang good.
I love those. Using them a shitton in Adventure mode atm and it's working perfectly.
the only thing i hate so far from this update is the new look for all the AI stuff. it looks very ugly in my opinion.
:)

Have fun not owning any games then
from the depths is already in its major release, anything they add from this point is extra whipped cream on top
Who tf gets mad about free content?
Free content is always nice though, I never complained since I get the thing and in fact the value of the game goes up with more good content.
ok, but can it shoot in a morta arch so i can make a halop wraith now?
