This bass line is far more complex than I thought! We really have to give credit to gene for his bass lines being able to blend in with the song and still be so grounded and rhythmical!
Awesome video Paul. I'm a huge Kiss fan, but I had never paid too much attention to the bassline in that song. It's pretty cool actually. Thanks for showcasing it!
Gene isn't the most technical bassist out there but he does play melodious bass lines when needed.... And this one is really a showcase of what goes behind a great song... Creatures..... We're their heaviest and darkest albums of em all... Good ol Gene
Well I looked it up. Gene Simmons did not play the bass on this song in the studio. A guy named Mike porcaro did it.Just as I think . WOW Gene really is a great bass player. I find out a studio guy., or Paul Stanly did it. Oh well Gene does still have the coolist make up.

Ty Thompson Was this Gene? I thought I read somewhere it was Mike Porcaro playing on this track.
In Genes book he said he did not record this song . Its a great song though .
That use of Octaves is soooooo cool on this track 😎
Bellissimo Paul
Thank you for the tutorials ❤
Love this song and love this version! As usual, great work, my friend!

Gene doesn't play on this. This is Mike Pocaro from Toto
Its Mike Porcaro the genius
Excelente ! Gracias Paul.
Love it.
Fun Fact, the bass line on the album was recorded by Mike Porcaro from Toto
How did you get that tone so close to Gene’s actual tone??? Great work!!!!
I'm planning to do a video where i show gear & settings. Keep watching this space ;)
Awesome (as usual). Can you do UFO’s “Doctor, Doctor” and Suzi Quarto’s “The Wild One”?
Good work! You should check out some Megadeth. They have a lot of good bass lines.
This bass sounds better than his jazz basses . His jazz basses are buzzy . I can't deal with a buzzy bass !! He's fantastic plyer though !
uow
