Thanks for the vid! Big help. I summarized so I can have a reference while playing: Starting 6 Vils: - 4 to house, forge, then stone - 2 to sheep Next 3 vils from TC go to sheep. - 4 on stone - 5 on food Next 1 vils from TC go to stone - 5 on stone - 5 on food Next 6 vils from TC go to food - 11 on food - 5 on stone Make sure you're bringing sheep home before you run out Age Up to Feudal using all 5 stone vils Move 7 vils from food to wood - 4 on food - 7 on wood - 5 building Age Next 4 or 5 vils from TC go to wood (use 1 to build a house, then back to wood) - 4 on food - 11 on wood - 5 building Age Once Age Up is complete, all Vils apart from 4 go straight to 2nd TC After TC is build, balance economy: - 8 on food - 5 on gold - remainder on wood Build two production/military buildings (any combination of barracks/archery/stables) As soon as you can afford it, get the Towara and Takezaiku updates to boost villagers and farms After this it's up to you. Consider getting some vils back on stone for a Daimyo Manor to boost farm production and increase defense if you're being pressured early. GLHF x
After messing around with this a bit I think it's important to stress that any kind of earlygame aggression from your opponent completely shatters this build. I'm struggling a lot particularly against knights - I can get my TC up nice and early but have nothing to defend it.
This build can be improved, move the first 4 vils on gold, then tell them to build the stone camp, that way you have 40 extra gold for a faster age up. Keep the 4 vils on stone, not 5. then at 5:10 you can place TC, and if those vils are kept on stone, you can get Daimyo at 5:30, so both you can get by 5:30 an upgraded main TC + Second TC by 5:30
One tip I saw on another video is to be sure that you resume villager production AFTER Daimyo finishes otherwise your instant villager will be delayed.
Definitely going to give this one a try, I wonder if it's worth over gathering the stone somewhat to get upgrade faster if you think the opponent is going to rush? Probably not worth delaying the age up
Yeh it's not worth it imo, you might not even have to delay the age up if build with food vills, but will definitely delay the second tc which is very dangerous without units to defend. Not worth it. Earlier TC means more vills can always go back to stone for the daimyo 👍👍
"What's not to like about free farms?" Well.. By your name i think that's sus. 😂 Ty for the guide. I've start to play like 4 weeks ago, after not touching any rts game for like 15 years since i last played aoe2. Started with japanese (maybe not the best civ for starters) and i'm all in now.
😂🙌🙌👌Welcome to Aoe4!! I think you picked a GREAT civ! honestly having seen all of them I feel Japanese are incredibly fun and a solid civilisation to play. Great choice!!
It would delay the build too much for the second town centre. The idea is to get the second town centre as fast as possible. Can even put the second town centre on the berries potentially and get towara and takezaiku upgrades after the second tc
can i ask: i play late game byzantine, but i choose wrong Mercenary and unit play late game, you make guide mercenary and unit combine for this civ,i lose streak 20 game with this civ
it's probably one of the hardest civs to play right now with a lot of micro/macro and you have to select what mercs you want depending on your match-up and what your opponent is making. As well as use foresight on where to build what. So, you have to do more planning on your buildings and units than others civs. I've noticed turtle strategies seem to work because you have a lot to defend.

Starting 6 Vils:
- 4 to house, forge, then stone
- 2 to sheep
Next 3 vils from TC go to sheep.
- 4 on stone
- 5 on food
Next 1 vils from TC go to stone
- 5 on stone
- 5 on food
Next 6 vils from TC go to food
- 11 on food
- 5 on stone
Make sure you're bringing sheep home before you run out
Age Up to Feudal using all 5 stone vils
Move 7 vils from food to wood
- 4 on food
- 7 on wood
- 5 building Age
Next 4 or 5 vils from TC go to wood (use 1 to build a house, then back to wood)
- 4 on food
- 11 on wood
- 5 building Age
Once Age Up is complete, all Vils apart from 4 go straight to 2nd TC
After TC is build, balance economy:
- 8 on food
- 5 on gold
- remainder on wood
Build two production/military buildings (any combination of barracks/archery/stables)
As soon as you can afford it, get the Towara and Takezaiku updates to boost villagers and farms

by 5:30? more like 6:00 surely, for both?
You deserve much more views. Keep up the great work.

Agree! Very straightforward and to the point.

That's one crazy start for 6 minutes in. Might start trying this over early onna spam.
This seems like it just takes way less intensity.
thank you!
Very welcome! 🙌🏻
Don’t forget the third mini wheelbarrow upgrade
Great guide

I might try to do this on gold for a slower (passive) 2nd TC and faster castle age.
It's a cool strategy, especially if you're hoping to be more aggressive / scout that your opponent is being very aggressive
u can hit castle at like 8 minutes doing naked rush
I normally use the extra stone to build walls because i'm a coward. Also because they need siege engines to take them down
dont work when my i gather 500 stonge the same amount as yours i dont get 200 gold amount as much as you. could you explain if i done something wrong?
why not go on berries and get the berries gather upgrade?

Can you do SxD build orders?
