As regular visitors to Tenerife/ Los Cristianos, we found your comments to be well balanced, honest & very helpful with your info & tips. Before our last visit in 2020, we had to have the PCR tests you refer to but if our next visit this June 2021 has to also have additional PCR tests etc required before returning to the UK as it stands at the moment, that would be our deciding factor NOT to go over in June, just too much hassle from both sides. Hopefully, thing will change for the better before then but thank you for your vlog.
Excellent video, having previously travelled every other week this year has been a big change, epically being an Australian and not being able to leave at all, this video gives me hope of getting back travelling soon.
Thanks a lot - I'm a dual Aussie / British citizen and I genuinely can't decide whether I'd rather be in Aus (with relatively few everyday restrictions, some level of Interstate travel although zero international) or in the UK (with severe everyday restrictions but the ability to travel even if you then have to quarantine and the list of places that will let you in is very short). Have a great Xmas
Hi Matt. Very good video again. Was it very quiet there on your visit? I did hear only a couple of days ago that they are going more to the side of having rapid testing accepted. Plus what a bargain for lager and breakfast there.
Good stuff once again! I lived in Tenerife back in '86 for 6 months and my first accomodations were in Los Cristianos. It seems to have grown quite a bit. Shame you didn't get more footage... On a different note, is it just me or is your face out of focus when you're in your study? The camera seems to be focussing on the books in your bookcase...
I'd not expected to make a video about LC so didn't take much footage. Then I got locked down, so made one and it ended out being my most popular video! Go figure... I'd noticed the focus thing - I use my DJI Osmo and i think it focusses midway between me and the bookshelf - I've taken to sitting a little further from the camera (and closer to the bookshelf) then I zoom in when editing.
hi matt we are hoping to travel for a week on 14th feb 21 will a basic nhs covid test be ok and do we still isolate when we return which is out of the question for us
No-one on the planet can tell you today what the regulations will be next week, let alone next February. My instinct is that restrictions are more likely to be tougher than they are now . What I will say is that the regulations do not allow you to use an NHS test to support overseas travel - although I am sure many do.
@@MattsPlanet thanks for replying, do you think jet 2 will give me a full refund if i ask ? and what is playa america like now ? we are hoping to go to costa adeje hope we do, i really like it out there
Hard to say - if the plane goes, generally they'll not refund you but should give a credit for future use. If the plane is cancelled, a refund should be due. Probably best to leave it and see what happens - hard to resist getting excited about a trip when it might not happen! Didn't make it all the way around to PDLA but if it was like Los Cristianos then most things will be open and they'll be very, very pleased to see you!
Great video, I bet you enjoyed a bit of warm sunshine and cheap beer! I'm booked to go to Madeira in January, (hopefully) they give you a free covid test at the airport when you arrive, just have to isolate in hotel room until you get result back. I really don't mind doing that, it's worth it to get away.
It was very enjoyable - wish I'd stayed longer! Madeira is one of a shortening list of candidates for the next trip. A good friend just got back from Barbados where there's a similar arrangement and he was very happy to suffer the inconvenience for a week in the sun.
Thanks! Sometimes people say I'm lucky to have travelled so much, but luck is not a factor - I just spend all my money on travel rather than on cars or clothes or watches. Or shampoo! How's Tenerife doing with the latest restrictions?
Crazy the UKGov have taken all Canary Islands off when it’s actually only Tenerife that has rising cases. All other islands are low or falling in case numbers. Why can’t they do what they did for Greece and do it island by island? Grr. Will get back on a plane one day!
I feel completely safe flying, it's just the quarantine that buggers everything up. The UK government has made a complete mess of the pandemic. One minute he allows you to fly to somewhere, the next he doesn't. It's quite annoying.

It would be a brave person who predicts what the prevailing regulations will be in June! Thanks for the kind words and here's to a better 2021.
@@MattsPlanet Absolutely correct & thank you for your reply.
Very honest and to the point ... I hope to visit sometime soon...
Thanks Rose - keen to get back there myself soon!

Superb 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Wasn't going to make a video about this trip but decided to do so anyway and its done pretty well so I'm glad I did!

I'd say it was pleasantly quiet - life if you needed it but always a seat available. Saw one bloke down 3 pints with his €3 fry up...
@@MattsPlanet 😂😂Maybe he thought he was at home and had a "substantial meal" to drink his pints.

I am in Los Crist now many on the beach wearing no masks but on the walk way you have to wear a mask how crazy is that
I look forward to watching comedy sketches about the silliness of some of this in the future

Annoying indeed. At least Botswana is now open, not that you can get there without transiting somewhere that would then require you to quarantine.

"Quite annoying" is a brilliant understatement! I completely agree.
Who gives a rat's ? You're a pleasant chap modesty endearing so it's all good.
The world has moved on since I made this video. As have I! My Mum says I'm pleasant too...
