I believe Prasan Rao is among the best singers of Rafi songs. I love listening to Prasan sing Rafi songs, sometimes repeatedly. Such a lovely singer. But I should say today Prasan was not at his best. 'Ye Duniya Ye Mehfil' was one of the most iconic songs for Rafi, music composer Madan Mohan, actor Rajkumar, and the lyricist Kaifi Azmi. Rafi sang this longish song in such a booming voice like it hits you hard on the forehead. Absolutely magical. Today I felt that somehow Prasan was missing this element. I look forward to hearing Prasan Rao sing the song again, just as Rafi sang. I also would like to see Prasan sing the full song, not shortened version.
