Match screen & prints. Easily adjust screen brightness to match print viewing - banish dark prints

Print matching. Simple, easy technique to better match print vs screen brightness. Fix problems of dark prints, without needing full monitor calibration. Viewing light for prints.
Using a camera as a light meter saves on buying a colorimeter or spectrophotometer. Not for precision work, but it can help if your prints come out too dark.
Ideally a hardware screen calibrator is the way to go, but this technique works with iPads and other overly bright displays if you want better prints.
The print viewing lamp I'm using here is an Ilford Ilfolux color viewing lamp for checking prints. As a desktop viewing lamp it has good colour rendition and is adjustable 3000K to 6500K lighting.
