Congrats, it's not easy to nail a Premium and the judge was very positive with his remarks. The dam showed admirably and Banksy was pretty laid back given a new environment, his boldness probably commended him to the judges, he wasn't the typical hiding under mom and panicking each time she moved but was confident enough to move away and do his own thing with only the occasional whicker. Love Mickey btw, she reminds me so much of all the old broodmares I've cared for, 'been there, seen that, him? he's fine'.
Shelby, congrats on Banksy's great inspection!!! Not to mention getting a premium designation on your first homebred. Your matchup was right on the money. Figures he'd show off in front of the judge and do a pratfall right in front of him.😂😂 He is definitely a character, but those are the best kind, just like Milo😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I loved this video! Banksy is such a personable colt and it's very obvious that he is and always will be loved by everyone he meets. Thank you for sharing such a special moment in his life with us, Shelby!
Probably due to consistent exercise even while pregnant, then more strenuous exercise afterwards since there was nothing really stopping them from jumping back into training after she rejected her foal. Because you can lightly exercise pregnant mares but most don't, that and she was likely well conditioned before her pregnancy.
Congratulations, anyways even if Banksy didn't show his very best movements, I think the judge has so much experience that he could see all the value of your colt by what he could observe. Well done !
Congrats! I know you must be so proud of him. My first homebred was a premium foal as well. I did not understand the importance of it at all when she was inspected lol. I was like oh that's cool. It wasn't until I went to try and breed her that someone enlightened me on what the premium meant. She has had three foals since I retired her and they all are just as unique and as beautiful as her.
Probably more like 3-4 (hopefully) as it’s extremely harmful to ride a horse at just 2, and even 3. However, the owner has to judge when the horse is ready and mature, as well as using vets to give assistance in showing whether back bones have matured enough to start backing. But yeah, without being uptight 😂 I get what you mean, there will be such a difference in Shelby’s life, your life and my life, it’s crazy. Wonder what kind of horse he’ll be to ride. Fiery and hot, or cool and calm 🤷🏽♀️
ItzMeg yeah, I was deciding whether to put 3 to 4. Or 2 to 3. Because I do know that it hurts the horses back if they get ridden earlier. But yeah, in 2, 3, to 4 years there is going to be so much change, it’s kinda scary. But at the same time good?
@@itzmeg3988 I think there's more to it than that; some people think that racehorses, for example, can develop more resilience later on if ridden (even raced) at two, but it no doubt depends on each horse, and of course on the weight and style of riders. Jumping at an early age is another question altogether.
awuma resilience? I don’t really understand. Horses can have detrimental back injuries in the future if they are ridden at 2, no matter the rider (obviously within reason kids don’t break in horses you know what I mean lol).
Congrats on going Premium at inspection. I actually cheered when the Inspector said that magic word. I've loved Scarlet's conformation since I first saw her on your channel and your cross to the stallion you chose was well thought out. Congrats again on all your hard work!
Amazing job Shelby.. I agree, the breeding is amazing. Part of me hopes you do not geld him, but I also know that will be a personal choice.. great geldings are as important to the industry. Can't wait to see what the future holds for you and Banksy.
Shelby, reason I sub'd to ur channel was how genuine u are. I actually found u thru another channel who thinks using a bit is CRUEL and im sure ull know who she is. I watched a video of her talking about u and how u work for the racing industry and how cruel it is to work for them. well I decided to actually look u up and watched several of ur vids and quickly realized theres nothing fake about u. ive been in the horse world for over 25yrs and my respect for u is huge. u come across as a very kind and humble person. ur baby is absolutely breathtaking! love everything about that sweet baby! ur a great example for our youth!
Banksy getting the zoomies at his inspection 😂 he got premium while not fully showing off his suspension and all, that's pretty cool! Seeing him next to you makes it obvious he's gonna be a tall, strong horse.
baby's like "theyre here to see me and nobody else, I just LET u be here!" and "and now I will show u my fabulous trot, canter and slide fancy moves!" hes so freaking cute Shelby!! how big u think he'll get to?
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 Very well done. I loved his crash and burn moment 😂😂😂 I can't wait to see how he really unfolds as he matures! Very handsome boy indeed!
I helped with my trainer's North American Trakehner Association inspection. No foals made premium. One mare made premium and she was a premium foal aswell. The stallion made the registry as an official Trakehner stud. Very cool to witness all together.
Wow scarlett looks so sharp! And maybe a little sassy too. It was also great to hear the judge give his commenta about her. Banksy was being such a ham as usual. It would be very interesting to see him as a stud
Congratulations! Gotta be an amazing feeling to hear all that work with him and scarlet has paid off. Now to wait till he turns 2 and starts to really grow into those white stockings!
Premium, wahoo!! Congratulations Shelby. Banksy is just pure joy to watch. I think if I could, I'd watch him every day. But that's just fanciful thought, I know it isn't possible nor would I ever ask you something like that. You already do so much for us and I appreciate that greatly! Thank you for all you do Shelby. Oh, please tell Lisa she is amazing and a saint. I hope she doesn't take rude comments to heart. If anything it shows how miserable others are. I think she records the videos remarkably well and don't think the stabilizer or tripod are necessary. Have a wonderful day/night Shelby 💜 and you as well Lisa💜! (Sorry this is so long... )
Ahhhh that's so exciting! Can't wait to watch this gorgeous boy grow up under your phenomenal horsemanship. He's gonna make for a really cool horse congratulations!
Awwww Banksy is soooo cute 😍😍 also, the mare I’m working with (lovely looking gray mare) has a problem with large crowds of horses and other horses running up behind her. Which led to me getting bucked off last night (Friday) and having her completely lose her mind today (Saturday) and give the worst rope burn on my hand while I ponied her. Any suggestions other than get her out more? Lunging exercises in crowds I would really appreciate 😂😂 thanks and good luck with your ponies ❤️❤️
A Girl And Her Dragons Just when she’s away. But not really when we’re at our 4H leaders house. She pinned her ears then, and now with barrel racers running up her ass she wants to buck and run around. At home she’s a saint, but she’s also been used to being a pack horse in New Mexico mountains. She’s been around crowds before, just never had a horse run up her. You’d think people would have common sense with obviously young horses with a red ribbon just in case 🙄🙄
@@MicaelaGutierrez2004 of this is the case you need to put a red or green ribbon in her tail at shows because people should know that she is a high risk kicker and newer to the show ring.
Hannah Marie Yeah, I put a red ribbon in her tail, but people (friggin fellow barrel racers 🙄🙄) still run up behind her. I wish every horse person knew that horses with a red ribbon meant back tf up sis. But thank you for your tips 😊😊
Mad Melody Maybe take her off property places with a buddy who she loves and is super comfortable around and is generally really laid back around other crowds so she kind of is comforted by seeing that if the buddy can do it without losing their mind then she can too. People not respecting the red ribbon is not okay, and I think you have every right to approach the judge and verbally give others a reminder because it’s a huge safety thing to not only other horses but the riders as well. Best of luck, totally not fun to have a chill pony at home that then loses their mind off property! Been there done that haha
Congratulations! Scarlett looks great and Banksy looks good and has an intelligent personality! He's gotten so big! His muscle looks good too! Sweet Nurse mare.
Congrats Shelby on such exciting news!! I just knew Banksy was impress...he is such a beautiful colt. Really nice of the inspectors to let you film and then give their comments too! 👏👏
Banksy’s mom is a good looking mare. And that baby! Oh, my, he gets cuter by the day. And thanks so much for this video. I always wondered about this procedure.
Congrats on his Premium designation! He's a gorgeous colt and you did a great job with your decisions about his breeding and he of course put on a great show. No hiding for Banksy - he was a total nut.
Banksy was like 'I'm sexy and i know it' in the arena which i love ,congrats on getting premium!!! He's going to be a great horse once he's older .you did a really smart move there and as someone who has bred a foal from the same Stallion I do not regret it one bit.I named mine Joshua ,Shua for short and he's only 2 years old now and he has the same personality as Banksy
What a gorgeous colt ! thanks for explaining how it works 🐎❤️ Gorgeous Love all his Chrome. Mare gorgeous too Nice movement 👍 Congratulations ❤️🐎 Great premium! Yep I’ve seen Dressage horses do these tests. Amazing Handsome colt 👍❤️😍
I'm so proud of Scarlett andnhow well she did considering her herdboundness and how stressed/frustrated she seemed with the situation. You mentioned Banksy being more interested in playing than showing his best. Do you think you'll possibly have him inspected again as a 2 year old when he'd more likely to "behave" to see if he gets upgraded?
I love how his socks go all the way up his legs then fade.
The lighter fade is just foal camo, itll probably go away once he sheds out :)
Congrats, it's not easy to nail a Premium and the judge was very positive with his remarks. banksy just completely hitting the deck during his inspection is one fat mood ngl
God Scarlett is so fit I can never believe how gorgeous she is. Congrats on banksy! He’s such a cool boy excited to see what his future brings!!
I love him, he's so cocky and full of himself tearing around like a little hell raiser! He's going to be a super bold jumper I think
lovely Banksy with his fancy prancy moves
Banksy says “I play dead mom”

Banksy is growing up so fast😭💕
How is Scarlett’s topline that amazing after giving birth?!? She’s so gorgeous
Probably due to consistent exercise even while pregnant, then more strenuous exercise afterwards since there was nothing really stopping them from jumping back into training after she rejected her foal. Because you can lightly exercise pregnant mares but most don't, that and she was likely well conditioned before her pregnancy.

Let's just admire how AMAZING Donut looks after giving birth to a foal just months before this vid. Mom goals.😻🐴
Congrats from Germany😊 what a beautiful foal❤
3:15 oh you Added some decoration😂
Your mom is the best entertainer i knoe

Omg, Banksy looks soooo gorgeous in those pictures. Hes gonna be stunning when he is fully grown. ❤❤❤
Yay Banksy. I can’t wait to see this guy in the show ring. In the meantime I’m enjoying every moment you post of his baby days.

Micky is still able to lactate at 26? Kudos to her! And how sweet for her that she gets the experience of mothering a foal in her sunset years.
Congrats on the Premium! You have a bright future ahead of you in the industry, Shelby. Happy to see you succeeding!
That’s a beautiful foal!!
Banksy’s thoughts: gotta go fast! Ahhh! Too fast!!
I love Sebastian and Fie! So knowledgeable and always have something great to say about every horse!
Congradulations, you must be proud. What a nice cross with your mare. Looking forward to watching him grow up.
I could watch that little baby all day is so beautiful
what a little legend, you should be so proud of yourself, what an amazing accomplishment on your first homebred!!
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 Very well done. I loved his crash and burn moment 😂😂😂 I can't wait to see how he really unfolds as he matures! Very handsome boy indeed!
Congratulations, Shelby! What a relief to have it done with such a great result. A well considered and successful breeding. 👍💜
Great Video!😍
In Germany they‘re called „Oldenburger“
That is sooo exciting Shelby!!
He is the cutest colt. Well deserved all around!!

Congratulations! You did very well for your first homebred! Banksy is so handsome. He's going to grow up to be one heck of a horse with character!
Damn it, I wish the inspector had had a mic on.
Thanks for this. My little pup ran away a few weeks ago, and it's been tough, but it helps to just watch a baby horse be a good boy.
omg i have been waiting for this i am so happy for the little man love ya banksyyyy!
Wow scarlett looks so sharp! And maybe a little sassy too.

One of the horses at my barn looks just like Bansky. Her name is Pippi long stockings (or Pippi) because she has long stockings.
Yay! I was hoping you’d make a video about this!
