Hello Albert. Yesterday I set up two containers outside. The temperature of the water in the containers quickly climbed to 32-33 celsius. Can guppies survive temperatures like this? What can I do to control the temperature?
i had the same problem from an accident where the pumpfell into the tub. the temperature was around 100 degrees farenheit, there were 12 young fry, approx 1 mo old. only lost 2. I immediately started slowly adding very cold water, which i always keep, also floated small plastic bags of frozen water. Eventually water came up to around 85, which seems high but if you have lots of moving water from air pump they will be fine. I have also discovered (using clear tubs up to this point) that my water stays a constant safe temperature when I used styrofoam ice chests, which i have converted to now. When the sun is shining on them, I try to provide shade, and I also keep the top on, I think this helps keep the water from heating. So far, it's been okay in 95 degree outside temps, no dead fish. I must add that I live in Florida, this being the hottest in years, heat index over 100 some days. I know God is watching over me and my fish hobby that I love. I hope this helps. Tom

You can buy plastic bags with softened corners. I was able to buy some for my fish. That way you don't have to tape your corners. Beautiful fish!
