Just a few weeks / months after her debut she was already extremly popular. There were some up & downs in the last 2 years... I hope she releases a big album soon & gets even more recognition & love.

Ailee's version is very beautiful. I feel like she kept it toned down to really give across the emotional part of the song. She did a lot of things vocally that were amazing. I personally prefer Sohyang's version because it was more dramatic and had strong emotion. Her vocals on it were incredibly difficult and it just made me appreciate it a little more. I agree! She would slay American music industry ... However it's a shame that in America, it's hard for Asians to make a breakthrough. (PSY being an unexpected exception) but I have faith that Ailee, with that voice, would do well :)
Lou Psy was a one hit wonder.
Something that Ailee has, not just vocals, is looks, fierceness, and charisma. And she can dance (and sing live, even if she isn't the -best- dancer ever). She can act dramatic onstage. Full package.

Lou Big problem is....there are lots of very good female singers in America already. Unless you write your own hits, the songwriters will go with the more well known singers. Such as, you know, Beyonce, who sings similar to Ailee. Don't get me wrong; I love Ailee's singing. But breaking into the American music industry wasn't going to happen. She took the right route. Get established, then go back. She's already a star in Korea. Now if she could only find a song in English that could be a hit......

What makes Ailee stand out is the way she expresses her emotions like...I feel like she's singing directly to me, like she's in me and she's singing to me to encourage me to lean on her when I'm down...it's like that soothing type of voice as if she's trying to comfort me through the song...I'm not her fan but I like to listen to her a lot. She's pretty and incredibly talented. I hope I can meet her some day and give her a hug (if that'll be possible lol) as a sign of my gratitude.
