Just last night I was looking at East Coast Quilt Co here in St. John’s, and saw they had Valdani threads, and was wondering about them. I’m a bluenoser who met my husband in London, Ontario, and moved back to his home province of Newfoundland when we finally made our way back to the east coast. What a coincidence that you talked about them just now, while I’m binge watching your videos I just found, as I get some stitching in before work!😊 Thank you for all the inspiration, information, and for sharing your life stories. Hi Shawn! ❤😊 thanks so much! I was a bit worried about making a tutorial, but I hoped that it would help someone! ❤ so glad that you liked it. Happy stitching, Lisa
Beautiful projects and thank you so much for your planner walk-thru! I am a planner person and yours is lovely. I also appreciated the beading tutorial and links for supplies. I have some beading coming up in a few kits so I know it will help me. I do have a question about how you count stitches in your projects and your daily count. I've heard others talk about counting their stitches and I have no idea how you do it. I would appreciate learning that technique. Thank you again for a wonderful podcast!
Hi Sandra! I get my stitch count from my pattern keeper app, and if I am working on paper (rarely) I estimate by 50 stitches per 18in strand of thread (loop start), and then count how many threads I get into my project. Others that I have seen on Flosstube (like the Nightly Stitcher) keep a nptepad nearby and mark down their stitches as they colour and complete them . hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Hi Lisa ~ Thank you for sharing such a content-packed episode! I always enjoy seeing your project progress and really enjoyed your finishes! Both framed pieces turned out great! Back in the olden days I framed my own pieces, but must confess I have resorted to having them framed for me in order to get them fully finished. The planner walk-through was inspiring as well. I've been trying different methods and haven't yet settled on a system; the digital vs analog conundrum. So much planning, prep, and customization goes into each project that I find it essential to keep track. I can't tell you how many times I've found a lone ring of flosses or a WIP with no chart or other identifiers in a bag only to wonder what is this?!? I so appreciate you and your channel and all that you do for our stitching community! Blessings!
Hi Linda! ❤😊 thanks for coming back to watch again! 😊😊😊 I am glad that you liked the video! It was certainly jam-packed with things to share today 😊 I am glad that you liked the planner flip-through, as well. It is such a personal thing to have and each person will like their own design and style. But, maybe a bit here and there will help inspire someone else. Thanks so much for your lovely comment. Happy stitching! Lisa😊
Thank you so much for your time and expense on showing us your beading technique and your journal. You really are a gem!! Happy Easter to you and yours! Hugs. 🐣🕊️
Hi Johanna! ❤😊thanks so much for watching! I was a bit nervous about making a “tutorial” as I am definitely not an advanced stitcher. But, when I learned to bead there weren’t many videos with the basics. I thought it might help someone beginning their beading journey! 😊❤happy stitching! Take care Lisa❤
This video was great!!! Lots of sharing and learning, a good mix! I don’t do much beading, but maybe now I’ll give it a try. Your organization skills are very impressive!! I’m trying to get by with a few goals a month and keeping track of what I stitch on. I’m curious to know how you figure out actually how many stitches you put in, assuming it’s on an app? I would love to see how you stitch with your floor stand. Not many film this, I would just like to see if it’s something that would work for me. Til next time!! 😊
Hi Dawn! yes, I use my pattern keeper app to tell me my stitch count. If I am working on paper (rarely) I estimate by 50 stitches per 18in strand of thread (loop start), and then count how many threads I get into my project. I would love to do a video of my stitchy spot and how I use my stand. Brenda at HandworkManiac has a pretty good video too on stands (episode #32) Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Just found your videos recently and have been very much enjoying them. You've got a lot of beautiful stitching on the go, and are so organized in your planning. The piece your beading is beautiful and the beads will add a lovely dimension to them, but I think bling is always good lol. Have you tried John James petite #10 beading needles? They're about half as long so you don't run the risk of poking an eye out or stabbing yourself with them. Take care, Lisa, and happy stitching.
Beautiful stitching! I like to see how everyone organizes their planners.... but I have to say all the talk about stitch numbers was making me anxious! LOL I can totally see myself flipping out on not getting a certain amount done. But, glad it keeps you motivated!!! Thank you again for your motivation!
Hi Christine! Thank so much for watching! 😊❤ I def know the numbers aren’t for everyone… i just like to see my progress month over month. I only look at the numbers like that once a month or I would be freaked out too 😂 I really love the monthly view most, and use that every day❤ happy stitching! Take care, Lisa
Hi, Lisa. I would like to know where you purchased the little folding table and what is the brand name? Thank you. You are doing a great job with your channel.
Your finishes are stunning! You do great stitching and great framing. I am curious, on the ink Circles with the valdani threads, why did you choose 12 weight for one but 8 weight for the other. If I caught it right, both pieces are on 32ct fabrics. I'm very interested in trying the valdani's, I just want to make sure I'm making the best choices for them. And thank you for sharing your stitching journal. It's so helpful to see how people organize things, and I love to see how they set and track their stitchy goals too.
Hi EmmyRose! :) Thanks so much for your kind words! I chose the 12wt and 8wt threads simply based on the fact that they were the colours that I wanted lol I was also curious about the different coverage between the two of them on 32ct. They both stitch beautifully on the 32ct. the 12wt is similar to Sulky 12wt if you have tried that before in a project. The 8wt is about like 3 strands of DMC, with this full soft coverage and beautiful raised soft stitches. if you like a dense coverage, then 8wt. If you prefer to see the posts of your stitches more, than use the 12wt. Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Always good to see another video from you. I am never disappointed. I have a great appreciation for the way you organize your things, including your journal. I’ve decided to put a governor on my new starts until I get some wips done, or at least much further along, so the Monster Whale you inspired me to order and the Long Dog are waiting in the wings. Do you, by any chance, know what might be a close comparison (in terms of color) for the Mushroom Lugana you’re using for your Summer heart? Also, what will the finished size on that one be on the 32 count? I have the Spring heart, but I haven’t started it yet. Thanks in advance!
Hi Becky! a comparable, but lighter fabric, would be the Whisper that I used on the project in the beading tutorial. It would work for the Seasons of the heart series. The finished project on 32ct will be 6.3in wide x 5in high, and I used a piece of evenweave that was 13wx11hinches. These are so fun to stitch! the colours are wonderful :) Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
@@LostInStitches Thanks so much for the suggestion! I was having a hard time finding the Mushroom in 32, so I’ll try the Whisper. Happy Stitching to you too!
I have loved your fresh outlook on things. I do a journal. I have a list of all my projects etc. But what I cannot figure is Pattern Keepper. When I am completely finished it might say 42% or something like that. I do get the # of stitches but the blank spots are not counted. How do I get it to finish at 100% if possible. I want to know the voter amounts. Thank you. Love how you are doing your flosstube.
Hi Mary! I can try a walkthrough of Pattern Keeper maybe : ) sometimes when patterns load they get added in there twice (happens with Barbara Ana). if a PK compatible pattern is loaded it generally works, but if it a scanned in version sometimes it doesnt count properly. that likely wasnt helpful lol I will see if I can find out an answer. Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
I just found you and I’m glad I did! Your stitching is incredible…the colors in the whale are beautiful. You have a shining personality and I look forward to many more floss tube episodes from you!
Your pieces are amazing. I am so sorry that we will miss each other by a week. I will be attending Stitch North at the end of april. Can you talk about what apps you use with regard to you cross stitching or if you have already perhaps you could point me to the video.
Hi Debra! I use 2 apps- Pattern Keeper and MarkupRXP. I am looking for a good stash app to track everything. I can do a video on this in the near future ❤😊 Thanks so much for watching! Happy stitching! ❤😊take care, Lisa 🪡 🧵 ❤😊

Hi Lisa - great FT as usual - so enabling ! . Can you tell me why you chose to use 2 different ply valdani threads . I saw your last FT where you stitched with the six ply I think but you have started another ink circles with a 12 ply . Both are beautiful and I am going to look at getting one of these soon but not sure which ply now ? Xx
Hi Lynn! I chose the 12wt and 8wt threads simply based on the fact that they were the colours that I wanted lol I was also curious about the different coverage between the two of them on 32ct. Thank you for your beading tutorial! I have wanted to watch how to do it and haven't found a very beneficial one, until this one!! One question, are you going up and down in the wholesale you just stitched through or to the side of that square?
Hi Kim! Thanks so much for watching! I am so happy that you liked the beading tutorial! 😀 for the stitching, I am going up and down through the hole next to it, just like making a regular cross stitch. (up through the lower left, through the bead, down through the upper right, up through the lower right, through the bead, and down through the upper left) Happy stitching and Happy Easter! Lisa

Hi JoAnne! I havent purchased the corner tool yet, but its definitely on the list to get! The side clamp works pretty well, but I think the corner one would be more secure. Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
@@joanneseeger5271 my friend at a retreat had the corner clamp, and it worked amazingly well! It locked the Q snap right into the stand. I thought it would be worth the investment. 😀💕 happy stitching!
Could you tell me more about your stands for your q-snaps or hoops? I use a Nurge hoop or stitch some in hand, but I have arthritis in my hands and after a stitching session I pay the price! Especially in my hand that hold the hoop. I would like to be more comfortable at my table or in a chair. Thanks in advance.
Hi Jeanne! I also have bad arthritis (inflammation) in my hands from the chemo medicines that I take :) I feel your pain 😒 I have found that when I hold my Qsnap, my fingers hurt too bad after an hour to keep going. The game changer for me was learning to stitch with two hands and having my hoop or qsnap held in a stand. it truly is a game changer and i can stitch for hours like that without pain. check out Stitcherista for a tutorial here ( if you dont already do this) ua-cam.com/video/TGdQAyEoK6s/v-deo.html The key is the stand. If you like to sit at a table, then I love my Ks Creations lap desk stand. for sitting on the sofa or a stitchy shair then the Lowrey stand was a winner for me. I will do a video with a demo :) I hope that this helps. Happy stitching, and thanks for watching! Lisa
Hi Andrea! 😊 thank you so much for your kind words! I bought the “grime guard” on my q-snap my LNS the Craft Connection, but they have recently closed. You can get them on Etsy in multiple sizes❤😊 happy stitching! Lisa
Thank you for sharing your lovely projects and your stitchy journal. I am trying to figure out how you know how many stitches you've done in a project. Do you manually count them? That seems tedious and I'm genuinely curious because I've seen other stitchers mark progress by number of stitches completed. I tried to google search it but I keep getting the calculators for determining fabric size to cut depending on count. Unless it's really obvious and I'm totally missing how to figure this out, thanks for any tips.
Hi Joanne! Thanks so much for watching! ❤😊 To count my stitches, I use pattern keeper, and it tells me the stitches that I have completed in the day. Pattern keeper is an app from the Google store that you can load your patterns into and mark off your progress. It works on Samsung devices. There is also Markup RXP as an app that works on apple and Samsung devices. Both track your stitch count. For paper pattens, I use lengths of thread to get my approximate count. For example, with an 18in length for floss, using a loop start, I can get say 50 stitches put into my project. So then I count how many lengths I’ve used and x by 50. It’s approximate for those, but pretty close. One full coverage pieces, you can count how many 10x10 grid squares you competed, because they are 100 stitches per grid. ❤😊hope that helps a bit 😊 thanks again and happy stitching!! Lisa
@@LostInStitches Thank you for sharing what you use. It's amazing what is available nowadays. I like your stitches by threads used method, too. Appreciate your time in replying. :)

I love your stitch planner! I would love this!
Hi Danelle! Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Beautiful projects and awesome organization.
Hi Rhonda!
Lisa😊
Thanks for another great video! 💗💓. Beautiful finishes! And thank you sooooo much for your beading tutorial…..you’ve made my day! 💗.
Hi Dawn! I am so happy that the beading tutorial helped you! Thanks so much for watching again! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Beautiful stitching❤
Hi Lorna! Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Thank you so much for your time and expense on showing us your beading technique and your journal. You really are a gem!! Happy Easter to you and yours! Hugs. 🐣🕊️
Hi Joyce! ❤😊 Thanks so much for watching! Happy stitching! ❤😊take care, Lisa 🪡 🧵 ❤😊
Great video ... thank you
Hi Cathi! thanks so much for watching! Happy stitching! Take care, Lisa ❤😊 🪡 🧵
Beautiful stitching and finishes.
Hi Sherry! Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Thanks again Lisa! Loved your two tutorials 🥰
Beautiful finishes. Enjoyed your video so much.
Hi Linda! Thank so much for watching! The video was a little jam packed today lol ❤😊 happy stitching! Take care, Lisa
Beautiful stitching! 🦋🌻

Love the finishes
Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
@@LostInStitches happy Easter Lisa!
Hi Heidi! Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Your finishes and stitching are fantastic!

Love all you stitch! It’s so pretty oh and that whale is gorgeous❤ I need him in my life now😊 I could use some happy planner additional sheets for my stitching do you mind to share if I send you an email? Blessings always❤
Hi Robin- I just sent you the project planner sheet to your email : ) Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
They both stitch beautifully on the 32ct. the 12wt is similar to Sulky 12wt if you have tried that before in a project.
Lisa
Hi Lisa would love to get one of those small table. Could you please let me know where you got it . Thanks. Love thevideo

Love your added touch of beads. Question on your lawry stand. Did you purchase the corner tool to use qsnaps?
Hi JoAnne! I havent purchased the corner tool yet, but its definitely on the list to get! The side clamp works pretty well, but I think the corner one would be more secure. Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
Yes the Lowry stand is certainly an investment! They suggested the corner tool and I wish I could try one somewhere first. Thanks for your help!
Lisa
Love your beautiful finishes. Where do you get the fabric cover for around you quilting hoop/frame?
Hi Andrea! 😊 thank you so much for your kind words! I bought the “grime guard” on my q-snap my LNS the Craft Connection, but they have recently closed. You can get them on Etsy in multiple sizes❤😊 happy stitching! Lisa
Could I get ur projct planner page please would love it?
I love all your projects. You are so organized and all your wips are beautifully don
❤❤❤
Thanks so much for watching! happy stitching and Happy Easter:) Lisa
