Final Fantasy means more to me. I've been playing the games for the last 30 years since playing the original on NES in 1990. This game has the spirit of the original. Four young men on a journey to bring light back to the world. Just like the original game. Good stuff.
I think i have a deeper emotional connection with FF15 than any other video game i have ever played. Yes its flawed, but it is still a masterpiece, just a flawed one. I miss those four guys, I'm sure i will visit them again someday.
You got yourself a new sub. I finished Final Fantasy XV earlier this week and gotta say, despite its many flaws, it's such a special journey, with such strongly written characters and a charming world through and through. Loved it and will never stop recommending it despite its bad press
I swear I hope they don't ditch the camaraderie from FF XVI. Cruising with the boys in the regalia alone made the game worth for me, had they also nailed the story presentation the game could have been easily a 10/10. Im coping at this moment, but I don't lose hope for that second wave dlc or for a remaster that fixes the story so the game could reach its true potential. I really want to see more from these characters.
you're fr just like me. i think i'll be coping in eternity waiting for xv to get another shot at realizing it's full potential. honestly AT LEAST we got episode Ardyn, there was a hot min there i thought square was gonna walk away completely. hopefully someday we get to see these beautiful boys again
It's my favorite game in the entire series. It managed to do something which the vast majority of RPGs fail at, it made me care about its characters and their fate.
FFXV was my first FF game and by obvious bias means alot to me. While it has many problems, not just from story or gameplay, but its presentation & development. I still adore the game. I bought the Royal edition a month ago, but decided to not just replay the game but to understand it more. Looking up development videos, essays & view points upon the game etc. Being consumed by FFXV I decided to 100% it, I've watch the anime, the movie & im working my way through FFXV comrades, better than I thought, then its back to the start of chapter 14 to finish the game.
This is my first time watching this channel but this video was great. I’m glad I’m not crazy, because you articulated exactly how I feel about this game. There was something so cozy about it. Hope your channel blows up. Keep up the good work
Honestly despite all of its flaws, this game is my favorite Final Fantasy. The feeling of Brotherhood and all the characters and the world is just beautiful, and I actually really love the combat
SERIOUSLY i'd kill for another story with these guys! idc if square were to alternate universe it or set it at some random point in XVs story, i just want MORE haha
The worst part about it releasing in such a rough state that I think it really hurt the game and square probably doesn't want anything to do with it anymore. Which really makes me sad because this is one of my favorite worlds so far and I love the anime episodes in the movie and I just want more of this world and I likely will never get it
This was a fun, funny, good video. Subscribing, you have a really great sense for comedic timing and you have opinions I agree with and can clap when I hear. Your channel is going to be big in the future, man.
The way you described the impact of the bond between the bros is EXACTLY how I feel, and I'm glad someone else gets it and sees the value of it the way I do. Despite FFXV's many, many issues, it's clear the developers and writers put a ton of effort into making these friendships and sense of comradery feel as real and authentic as possible. And the stellar voice acting elevates that to another level. The first time I beat FFXV, I cried. No, I didn't just get misty-eyed or squeak out a few tears. I SOBBED, like I've never sobbed before while playing a video game. And it took me a while to understand why, but eventually it hit me. Noctis and his friends felt real to me. Sure, there were parts of the story that frustrated me and other characters I felt didn't get the attention or screentime they deserved. But where the game succeeded was that it made me feel so deeply for Noctis, Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto, that by the time my journey was over, I felt like I was on that journey with them and I didn't want it to end. It was a very powerful and personal experience. The likes of which I don't think I'll ever have with another video game. That's what FFXV means to me, and why no one can convince me to hate it, no matter its flaws.
i love advent children, aside from returning to cloud being a little more mopy than he was at the end of 7, i enjoyed advent children a lot, i think my two favorite scenes in the whole movie are, when sephiroth shows up and is all "hello....cloud.." and the scene where vincent shows up during the bahamut thing and is like "does anyone know where i can get a cell phone" lmao XD
Great video. Just watched a bunch of these from different tubers, of the top numbered titles I've grown up with and loved since ‘88. You've made me laugh with this honest review and I thank you.
Im recently getting into the Final Fantasy series. First played 7R, then Four Heroes of Light, now Bravely Default. I definately wanna play ff15 after Bravely Default. Its weird it took me this long to get into final fantasy despite liking JRPGs. I grew up with pokemon (if that counts as a jrpg), smt/persona, fire emblem, and even kingdom hearts. getting into ff is long overdo, and tbh tho the spinoffs (4hol Bravely) and the more mixed recieved ones like 15 and 12 interest me more than the fan favorites (6, 10), which i will eventually play.
Holy crap, halfway through the video and I slammed the like button. I pity the people who played this game when it dropped in 2016, however, having only played the Royal Edition myself, I agree with you 100% on everything. It's not a perfect game, but it is a good/str GREAT game!
15 has the special talent of being both great and bad at the same time The map is too empty (not just cities, but monsters) and its hard to "experience" the day/night cycle lore without it doing it more like minecraft The lore/story is great on paper, but it does not flow well and needs a remake treatment or a remix edition to intergrade the dlc and adjust the story around it, make balancing fixes, and expand areas and add more npcs and monsters and then add the festivals (at least the first) as sidequests or minigames I like that you can see how 15 and 7R combat is extremely similar. Because of how 7R does its "wait mode", it allows more abilities to be used while in 15 you can do this, but you have to go into the menu and MANUALLY CHANGE the abilities on the atb shortcut just to use, drastically slowing the combat Too much of the royal/god pilgrimage didn't matter (storywise). The astrals don't matter. Having more royal arms didn't matter 15 isn't a coming of age story. Its a story of a guy whos life broke down and he got forced into sacrifices out ofnowhere Youre right. 15 is carried by the characters
(p.s. not directed at the video person, just an observation that came to mind when he said ff12 star wars joke) i like how you can tell when someone hasn't played the older final fantasys, when they compare 12 of all things to star wars lmao
I'd say watching the prologue is vitally important to the story as well as it fills in the blank befofe regalia breaks down, explains what the kingsglaive are and what the hell happened to lunafreya, and man... It's just a cool movie. FFXV is easily one the most flawed game I have ever loved. It is such a broken experience but I would gladly play it for another 100 hours just to re-experience the chocobros comradery again. Tl;dr game makes me feel like I have friends.
I agree with a lot of your points. But XIII combat is it's STRONGEST point, it's pretty solid actually. It's real problem is story pacing, level design and worldbuilding.
thank you for watching!! fair if you enjoyed the combat, to me, it really did not feel like the right direction to take modern final fantasy combat. I def could've shit on the story, level design and worldbuilding but I found I didn't have anything meaningful to add to those topics as those elements are what most people immediately go for about when discussing XIII haha
Im playing the Royal Edition right now and have had a similar experience coming to the game and similar feelings now that I'm playing it. It just has the magic to it. I love this game...flaws and all.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I hated XIII and X because of the long hallway crawler experience. I liked XIV, but it's an online game. Oh and XII was okay but ultimately forgettable. So, XV was the best FF for me since 9. I did not hate it. I liked it quite a bit... although, it is flawed.
Someone not being able to understand XIII’s combat just by watching a few seconds of gameplay doesn’t make the combat bad. That’s a really bad way to support your argument. The game itself explains the combat very well, and anyone playing it would understand just fine, which is all that matters. It would have been better to point out what specifically you don’t like about the combat. That’d be a pretty hot take though since XIII’s combat is beloved by most fans today.
This game is like a rough diamond, its very flawed (mainly the fragmented story) but even then its great. I played it before and after royal, and even the base game was a good flawed game. The story was hard to follow but you could understand whats happening at least (after the updates), even if superficially. The royal edition is how this game should've launched, if it did I'm sure it would be much better received by fans. It kinda is the assasins creed unity of the franchise in a way (rocky launch, bad reputation that later received praise for what it did good, seeing the good game inside, even if flawed). But yeah, royal edition did this game wonders, the base game was good still but RE is much, MUCH better and complete. (Still sad the other dlcs got cancelled tho) I actually wish that in the future we can get something like a "remake" like nier replicant got, where it doesn't change much, but actually adds cut content in it. This or a full on remake that fully realises its vision and puts all of the fragments together
You don't like XIII but honestly a huge number within the community have come to terms with it and can enjoy it for what it is. There's plenty of meat to enjoy in XIII
Oh yeah for sure! Even I enjoy a lot of what XIII has to offer. I'm a big fan of the character design, world-building and music. It just really didn't hit right gameplay-wise for me. I completely respect people that do enjoy it though!
hahaha, it will happen at some point! it would be a massive undertaking, research for it would include me replaying and rewatching all VII content before R as well as reading dev interviews etc and i work full-time so youtube is currently a hobby for me. i think a large amount of my feelings towards VIIR hinge on whether R2 solidifies the direction they take with the trilogy. unfortunately, from the pre-release stuff i've seen, i think my feelings will stay the same but we'll see! plus if i wait until R2 then i might as well wait for the trilogy to be complete entirely and go over everything lol. but, it's a dream video for me to make and i'll do it when the time is right!
Its crazy how fun the combat is but how unfun the rest of the game, its like if Devil May Cry just didn't have a coherent story. Also whats with the 1 party member just becoming blind rendering him useless?
waited so long for this game to come out and was so dissapointed when it came to butchering the story and haveing too many plotholes in the game cause if cutscene absenence we all used to enjoy in other ff games but still the game with all its flaws has heart and i played it more then any other game so i am always going to play it trough and honestly it has better graphics then ff 7 remake
I genuinely think ffxiii has better combat than xv. Actually it isn't even close for me. Having said that, I genuinely enjoyed xv for it's beautiful open world and the Stockholm syndrome effect of being stuck with that crew for so many hours. Xv is a flawed experience but I grew a strong bond with the boy band. Heck, they even manipulated me into being sad for the loss of the car. Plus the fishing was the tits. I may not have agreed with you in totality, I appreciate the content. Nice job with the use of the backing tracks.
yo thanks for the comment! i'd say for me xiii is not what i'm personally looking for in FF combat but i respect that a lot of fans really like the gameplay, i can't deny the fact it has 2 sequels haha. i really agree with your read on xv, the fishing is something i should've shouted out here lol. thanks a ton again!!
The only problem I had with this game is the TERRIBLE combat system. I couldn't tell if I was actually doing anything or if the characters were just attacking on their own
Your hate for ff13 is so funny. If you actually played the game again youd see its one of the better FF games out there Also lol for using autobattle noob
7 is the progression of 13 which came from the original atb from games like the original 7 15 failed at being a kingdomhearts system with the lumi engine so they did it with 16 on ue4

Couldn't agree more
It’s been a rough journey for XV but I’m glad I got to experience this game in its good/bad states.
What can I say? U guys are the best…
I think i have a deeper emotional connection with FF15 than any other video game i have ever played. Yes its flawed, but it is still a masterpiece, just a flawed one. I miss those four guys, I'm sure i will visit them again someday.
I love hanging out with those dudes

I enjoyed hanging out with my the characters in FFXV more than I do with my real life friends….
I'd like a ff15 sequel lol. I need more of these characters. I feel like I barely got any out of them when I played and they were the best part.

hey, thank you so much for the kind comment. i'm glad you enjoyed!!!
yo dude just wanted to say you make some really good content. i'd say with the right topic and a little luck you'd definitely blow.
holy shit thank you! that really means a lot, people like you are what keep me going!!
It’s one of my favourites because of the bonds. So heartwarming
Great video! I think you really did the game justice when you spoke to how great the characters are. Also ur really funny lol

once you accept the flaws... xv becomes peak

Not gonna lie. That rant on the Combat System in FF 13 had me laughing so hard, my ribs was hurting 😂😂. Definitely earned a sub from me man 👍
Its an irony that nowadays its normal that game production takes nearly 10 years xD
I'd say watching the prologue is vitally important to the story as well as it fills in the blank befofe regalia breaks down, explains what the kingsglaive are and what the hell happened to lunafreya, and man... I wish more people would dare to play anything pre-7
FF13 was fun, stop the exaggeration. It was just a poorly paced game that was linear in the beginning.
I agree with a lot of your points. But XIII combat is it's STRONGEST point, it's pretty solid actually. It's real problem is story pacing, level design and worldbuilding.

I love, love, love this game so much.
I appreciated the XIII hate. I always resonated with that title. Probably because it was my first FF.
7 remake's combat system isnt merely based on 15, its also based on 13 which is funny
VERSUS XIII would have been the best jrpg ever made

for the algo babey
LETS GOOO
So about that FFVII video
hahaha, it will happen at some point! it would be a massive undertaking, research for it would include me replaying and rewatching all VII content before R as well as reading dev interviews etc and i work full-time so youtube is currently a hobby for me. i think a large amount of my feelings towards VIIR hinge on whether R2 solidifies the direction they take with the trilogy. unfortunately, from the pre-release stuff i've seen, i think my feelings will stay the same but we'll see! plus if i wait until R2 then i might as well wait for the trilogy to be complete entirely and go over everything lol. but, it's a dream video for me to make and i'll do it when the time is right!

@GhoulFMV for the record, I've only played xiii and not it's 2 sequels and I still think xv is the much more enjoyable game. Warts and all.
I know
I love FF15
Kid probly couldnt even beat 13, rage tossed the whole ps3
i liked the movie tho
The only problem I had with this game is the TERRIBLE combat system. I couldn't tell if I was actually doing anything or if the characters were just attacking on their own
Your hate for ff13 is so funny. If you actually played the game again youd see its one of the better FF games out there
Also lol for using autobattle noob
U mad bc 13 is best ff and u were bad at combat?
Get gud
7 is the progression of 13 which came from the original atb from games like the original 7
15 failed at being a kingdomhearts system with the lumi engine so they did it with 16 on ue4
U don't really get the whole story unless u understand how 13 and type 0 fit into 15, makes the story way better with deep lore
Lol no it’s not, bro. This is hands down one of the worst games ever released. Especially considering the pedigree.
You don’t get the game.
I really really really hated it.
Why?
