Trumpet player here. Was watching the band Trumpet sections reactions! Exactly the way I reacted when I sat in a big band a few years ago when Louis Dowdeswell was guesting, another world class player. There’s a level that few can reach, Louis is up there, but James tops them all IMHO. Of course he has amazing high chops, but it’s his easy swing he combines with this that is just amazing. Thanks for posting and the transcription (which I’ll use to steal a few lines on my solos!).

As a trumpeter myself I'd say he may be the greatest player in the world.
For sure. Performance wise he is one of the best. Of course some people can play higher, some faster. But he has unique style that i like

@@AlexeyStepin Yep....This is 100. But Louis D is still compatitively young. He still has plenty of time to get to James' and friends' levels.
