  • This F-22 setup video goes over programming with FrSky Taranis X9D+ radios. I explain everything for you! You asked for it and I have listened! :)
    I also cover a few other topics in the video but I mostly focus on explaining what is it that my F-22 does and how I programmed my transmitter settings to achieve it. Although this is for an OpenTx architecture, you probably can take ideas for other radio ecosystems.
    I know it's taken me a while to bring this video up online, but better late than never I guess! :p
    Also, I know the vid turned out a bit long-ish, but making it shorter would have probably required more work than I was willing to put in ATM, so it is what it is. You can use the CHAPTERS to navigate to the parts that interest you and ignore the rest! ;)
    If you have further doubts or want to know more about this jet, I encourage you to ask questions in the comments section here or otherwise head over to the forums (threads linked below) and I will be happy to attend you there ;)

    TL:DR - I fly almost exclusively on high rates, so that's 100-100-100 full mechanical throws on all axis and 80-70-30% expo (Roll-Pitch-Yaw).

    - HRB 2x 4S 4200mAh 50C
    - Turnigy Nanotech 2x 4S 3300mAh 70C
    Mind that although most of the jet is stock, I performed several modifications. Removed the infamous Blue Box and wing ribbon wires, passed individual leads to wing servos, mixed them all separately, removed pilot figure and nose gear light, installed a HE A3S3 gyro (which required physical servo reversing one stabilator servo, inverting motor and pot wires), added a green LED to make a fake HUD reflection effect, airbrushed the canopy to make it look more golden, like the full-scale one. Need to pick the sun at the right angle to show up though!

    Very good and informative video, I will watch this one many more times and implement some of it on my F22. The way you're using the control surfaces shows how much thought that has gone into it, great stuff! 👍

    Hi. I have the latest Ultra Performance version (purchased in March 2024). The AR8020T receiver binds fine, but the ESC keeps beeping and no controls are working. Can you please tell me the correct channel assignment? This version has a wire labelled as “Reverse Break”. I plugged that into channel 7. Am I doing something wrong? The manual is pretty much useless in this regard. Thanks!

    • @RC4ever
      @RC4ever  4 місяці тому +1

      I am not a Spektrum user. Since no controls are working, it doesn't seem so much an ESC problem but a power feed issue. How are you powering the jet up?
      It looks like your receiver is not getting any power supply so when you connect the battery the ESC complains that it receives no signal from the rx.

    I am trying to find the Hobby Eagle A3 S3 and I find it . I see a A3S4 but not a s3

    • @RC4ever
      @RC4ever  13 днів тому +1

      @JoseOrtega-df3zj Maybe you can find some in Ali, but probably better just to get an A3S4 as it offers a few advantages over the S3, particularly for jets that use Elevons, as the S3 didn't allow indivividual settings of each control surface and could often lead to requiring the installation of a reversed servo, or having to manually reverse the polarity of the servo wires yourself.

    Did you mention your gyro gains in the vid or did I miss that part? What rates do you use for pitch, roll and yaw? Also I use gear based rates where i have an offset added for landings whe gears are out and the plane is slow.

    • @RC4ever
      @RC4ever  Рік тому +1

      I didn't touch on the gyro settings, only the radio, true that.

    • @xXRapToRiXxGamer
      @xXRapToRiXxGamer Рік тому

      Never mind, you fly with 100% gains LoL...I am not surprised that I haven't noticed any oscillating yet...I wil try a higher gain setting next flight now...

    • @RC4ever
      @RC4ever  Рік тому +1

      @@xXRapToRiXxGamer Well, not exactly, my master gain is at 100% but I use different gains for each axis. Roll is the one with smaller gains IIRC because it's the first one to oscillate. Also, if you overdo yaw gains, the plane feels very stiff and doesn't turn naturally, but at that point, it's all pretty much personal preference
