    Really good vid, enjoyed your presentation and energy. I live in the Perth hills and i don't like seeing dogs loose in the national parks. I dont think the rangers would either. 😉👍

    Electric popup kettle, you will use also the same amount of gas for your canister or bottle for any other type of gas bottle

    Love the video mate. How do you find the awning after a bit of time? I have the iron man and ended up getting the king's wall extensions and agree!

      Cheers mate. I have since sold the awning, but it was awesome and very versatile. Due to its age in the end (12ish years) a lot of the plastic fittings and cast alloy parts had corroded and failed.

    People just need to try different things and see what works for them. I got a similar kettle and it’s amazing how something so simple makes a difference in packing, water wise we always have bottles in the fridge so for a coffee we just use a bottle however I am going to set up my tub trailer with a water tank for showers when more remote. I tried a rooftop and just didn’t like going up and down the ladder a few times a night after drinking a bit lol and having it permanently on the roof is not practical for me either but some people want it and that’s fine

    We run the same kettle. Bloody brilliant little space saver! How’s your dog running around stoked on life. Classic 🍻🍻🍻

      Haha go the mighty 1KZ!
      Yeah the dogs love it, they'll be coming on more trips with me this year hopefully.

      Thanks buddy, that means a lot!
      The steel rear bar? I made it myself.
      There is a full build series on my channel if you are looking for more videos and pictures of it.
      Cheers!

    I enjoyed this video and being a dog lover I also liked to see your interactions with the Pups. Too many folk aim to appear seasoned film makers but to see the warts and all make the filming more realistic with the added humour of the minor cockups so well done you. 👏👏👏

      Thanks mate. I feel better including some of the bloopers that happen during filming as it makes me feel more open and honest about my content.
      Also going bush with dogs is always heaps more fun than leaving them at home haha.

    I love your set up and explanations. I'm getting a prado soon and want to install a rooftop tent like that. Is it possible to have something like that and park in a garage?

    • @offroadcrusader
      @offroadcrusader  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Hamish,
      It will obviously depend on the height of your garage, but if it fits then there is no reason why not. Otherwise you may need to remove the tent when not in use. There are companies who make quick release RTT brackets that may work for you.

    First time I’ve seen that fire pit. Looks excellent. U are right all the other ones I’ve seen are way too heavy

      @offroadcrusader  3 роки тому

      Right on mate. Personally I haven't owned the other types, but been at camp with others who do have them.
      This one is like 3kg packed up, and can support nearly 60kg on the mesh, so I'm happy to keep it.

  • @jeffwilkes3039

    Don't go roof top, need to level up getting up and down that ladder for toilet, yeah that's a pain, plus setting up in the rain, or packing up, well good luck

  • @ThePlim62

    Great stuff mate…….other than the fire pit. Hate fire pits that elevate the fire off the ground. You loose so much heat as opposed to a ground level fire.

    • @offroadcrusader
      @offroadcrusader  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah to be honest I wasn't expecting to like it, but in a number of places these days you arent allowed a ground fire, so a firepit is necessary.

    Great vid mate 🤙 quick question what rear bar are you running ? And what work was involved to get the front to that height spacers ? Or diff relocation kit and upper control arms and what not ?

    • @offroadcrusader
      @offroadcrusader  3 роки тому

      Thanks mate. The rear bar is my own, its a custom built one. The front is fully suspension lift, with 2-4" struts and 3" HD Hilux coils. PSR UCA's, extended braided brake lines, etc etc.

    Hey
    Great video very helpful.
    I’m looking at an alu cab for my 120
    Just a question about your prado roof load limit. With the alu cab weight being 80kg or so and your awning about 20kg. How did you find it getting under the roof load rating.
    I have a rhino pioneer platform, so would this mean I would far exceed my 100kg roof load rating.
    Thanks

    • @offroadcrusader
      @offroadcrusader  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Joel,
      fair question mate. The tent plus foxwing plus maxtrax, light bar, 3x crossbars and the ARB back bone would probably be more than 100Kg, I never really weighed the whole lot to be honest, ignorance is bliss haha. Having that weight spread widely across the roof was probably its saving grace, and I never felt as though the car was too top heavy.
      I could only imagine the 100kg roof limit has a safety margin too, though understandably not advertised, so I was happy to run around with this setup on the Prado daily.
      Completely your call if you want to do the same. I would be removing the lightbar and maxtrax first from my setup if I did want to reduce the weight up high.

    I’d be careful with that much weight on the roof, it might not be roadworthy

      Thanks mate. I'm happy that the full setup is less than the Toyota rating for the Prado.
