Honestly, I have really high anxiety and depression and when I feel really anxious, I replay your talking videos in the background and play switch games to calm myself down and distract myself. The things you talk about are so positive and light and I genuinely think you could talk about nothing and I'd enjoy it to de-stress hahaha! You're doing an amazing job and have amazing content!
I recommend looking into somatic work. I too have had anxiety since I was a child, and I just thought that was normal. Now I've come to realize it's unprocessed, unresolved emotions and trauma. Every human has some trauma, it's natural. Somatic work has been game changing for me! 🙏🏻😊 All the best!
SAMEEE I've been dealing with a ton of anxiety and deppression for years, and I just got a switch a couple weeks ago, it's so relaxing to lay down in bed and hear nice stuff :3 it's cozy fr
Im a hardcore gamer who plays not only cozy, but fps.. looter shooters.. ARPGS.. MMOS.. you name it. and this is the FIRST TIME ive ever heard of following something like wholesome games on steam. THANK YOU! I have now followed so many pages for game recs
This came at the PERFECT time. After stumbling across Wylde Flowers on my phone, I was completely enamored with the idea that video games could be so sweet, soothing, calming, beautiful. After a few months of waiting to see if it was a phase or a real interest for me, I went out this afternoon and got a switch. I watched your video twice! Thanks for the excellent content. You’ve got a new subscriber!
@@narkmoop It’s so so beautiful and so sweet. I haven’t played a video game since I had a Sega as a kid and it was Sonic the Hedgehog which was incredibly stressful 😅 What an awesome world to discover now!
I love what I've played of Wylde Flowers so far, but I'm having trouble finding the last townsperson for the Mayor's quest. The premise seems super awesome and the townspeople have interesting personalities so far.
There are SO many beautiful games. It’s a shame that public perception believes games are just to shoot things or build blocks or be extremely tedious and jump a thousand times. Games can be positive things if used responsibly and correctly. It can be hard to find good games if you don’t have gaming experience (it is a highly competitive and saturated market). However, here are some hints: the best games are usually indie games. A good game to me is one where you feel invigorated and inspired after a few minutes experiencing it. Usually they are made by medium sized studios or small teams, or even just one or two people. Basically, they are passion project indie games. I don’t like consoles. They gate-keep and limit options of what you can play. Console gaming also costs more money per game. You can find way more games on PC, like on Steam or humble bundle (humble bundle donates a part of the cost of games to charities, try to buy all of your games from them!) Also, online marketplaces (steam, humble bundle, GOG, green man gaming, etc.) for games have %50-%90 sales often. I’m serious! I never buy a video game unless it is on sale. $60 is too much for a single game imo. The switch console is ok though. Another game you could try is Journey. To finish the game, you will need about the time of 1.5 movies (5 hours or something?). The game connects you with another real life player live somewhere in the world and it symbolically represents our life journey with those we love. Until the bitter end. The music was nominated for something at the Grammys or something a while back. Anyways, I was crying like a baby at the end of it and called my whole family to talk to them after lol.
I loved this video so much. I bought a used Switch today, so I don't have in in my hands yet, but I am so excited. I'm 39 and I have always wanted to get into video games, but never have. Until now. I cannot wait to explore more and I have a feeling your videos are going to be right up my alley. xo
The steam deck sounds super interesting to me 👀 i have chronic pain that makes sitting at desks all but impossible and i had given up on the idea of being a PC gamer of any sort bc gaming laptops are so expensive! Knowing there’s an option I can play from bed sounds so nice!
As someone who has a Steam Deck, I absolutely love mines. It’s very customizable so you can pretty much play it like a console or a handheld system. So if you’re desktop is too uncomfortable it’s a great alternative. Especially if you don’t want to deal with a lot of PC issues. 😊
Kennedy, I just welcomed cozy gaming into my life because of this video! In my 30s and regret not doing it sooner. Your videos are so wholesome and informative. Love the vibes babe. 🤎
I have been obsessed with gaming since I was a small child and I swear there's nothing that makes me happier because even though I knew about almost everything you were talking about, this video was so much fun to watch
I 100% agree with the Disney Dreamlight Valley recommendation! I tried Animal Crossing years ago and it didn't hook me in with the narrative. Disney Dreamlight Valley immediately hooked me in with the mystery and the storyline while also being so cozy to play and its so fun to befriend the Disney characters from your childhood too! I got it earlier this week and have logged SO many hours already!
I've followed you for a few months now but I think this might be my favourite video you have made. It is such a good intro into cozy gaming and there were a few things that I did not previously know so it was super helpful. You just feel very warm and welcoming to new gamers and it's really lovely. Thank you
Haven is a great game I don't see cozy gamers talk about often. You play a couple (with the options of M/F, F/F, or M/M!) who ran away together to a foreign planet to get away from their restrictive society. There's combat, but it has unique mechanics and is highly optional, at least for the first few hours of playtime. Most of it so far has been exploring the planet, gathering ingredients and materials, and enjoying the loving interactions between the protagonists, Kay and Yu.
There are some things I’m completely clueless about that’s apparently common knowledge, & gaming is definitely one of those things, thank you for breaking down all the basics
Girl that helped a lot❤ You have no idea how important it is to have other girl gamer to guide you.❤ thank you for everything you do and everything you make❤
I’m so glad I found your channel. I requested a switch for my birthday so I can stop taking my sons. Lol. I’m so ready to get all the games and really dive in.
What a great review of gaming. I have been a very active gamer since the 1970's, but really enjoyed seeing your tips and information. Thank you for this video.
This was so helpful! I got a Switch for Christmas and just started gaming in January. I started with Animal Crossing and the last week or so I’ve been peppering in Cozy Grove. I can’t wait to start playing even more games. ❤
I literally just found out about you an hour ago while looking for cozy content from Black creatives. I know people try to act like representation isn't important, but it always makes me happy to feel seen and see other Black people into soft, wholesome things. 🥰💛 I'm also an avid Switch gamer, and am always looking for more cozy games on the console, so I'm very thankful for your videos. Needless to say, I've subscribed and plan to listen to plenty of your videos.
So I found your channel by accident... it was your video of "cozy hobbies" and I didnt KNOW that I was a cozy hobbiest already lol So now I follow you and I love your vids!! I was already looking for a new gaming pc and really was torn because the desktops are great but sooo expensive and I had thought about building my own but was intimidated! This video has inspired me to go ahead and do the research and build my OWN gaming desktop !!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video! This is exactly what I needed. Returning to gaming after not playing for over 25 years and so much has obviously changed.
I don't usually write comments but I just have to say this - THANK YOU for your channel and your amazing content !!!!!! 💕🌸✨ extremely helpful, especially videos like this and gift ideas 💕💕💕
I would say don't write off playstation or xbox for cozy gaming most games come out on all the consoles. Stardew valley, cozy grove, my time at portia, story of seasons, slime rancher, a short hike and so on are all available on playstation and probably on xbox too. I got into gaming because my brother had the consoles first and its a lot easier to start with what you have. Xbox game pass is also very similar to apple arcade and is a great deal. But this is definitely a great introduction to gaming video.
I am done with my ps4.. I want to play with friends when they come over and on the ps4 I cannot do that. Also I find that on the ps4 there are less cozy games.
I really appreciate you considering the game mechanics!! I agree animal crossing is a good game for that. Even just the fact that you can get used to moving around without also having to adjust a camera like you do in a game like Zelda makes a big difference. That’s something a lot of new gamers struggle with! I saw stardew valley recommended for people new to cozy gaming and bought it. But it was so difficult I almost gave up entirely. The short days and seasonal time management were so challenging for me!! I’m better at it now, but I had to leave it for quite a few months and watch lots of tutorials and then come back to it 😅 Personality does come into it, I know not everyone would struggle with that just like I didn’t struggle with the idea of exploring a large open world game or someone else might easily adapt to camera controls. But I think it’s so easy to forget what’s new when you’re actually new to something!!
ive been into gaming for YEARS and your video wraps everything up so nicely and beginner friendly :D i went from hardcore pc gaming to cozy switch gaming, used to play with a wii in my childhood, even mobile gaming, i played games all my life JHDJFH i wish i knew a couple stuff you mentioned when i started to get into gaming as a little kid lol it's awesome to see someone dedicated to coziness in gaming
This breakdown of the different consoles and programs was fantastic! I personally think the Switch is the perfect thing for cozy gaming. I also didn't know that there were curators to follow on Steam so thanks for that info! Now following Wholesome Games. Thank you so much for all of the quality content you upload for us! So glad you put A Short Hike on the game list! I love it so much. I think Haven Park would be a really good beginner friendly one too!
I can’t wait to get a steam deck and play cozy games that you can normally only play on a PC! I’m one of those that can’t sit still at a desk to play games, I need a handheld or to be able to lay on a couch while playing lol! I love the look of custom PCs though, the aesthetics are so nice.
I had the Nintendo DS Lite and was thinking about getting a Switch since I've had my DS for like 10-15 years? So I decided to get a Switch and got the Nintendo Switch Lite, and I'm so satisfied. I rarely play on big screens because if I want to play on a big screen I use my computer or my PlayStation! And I was only interested in the ability to take the Switch with me everywhere so it made more sense to get the cheapest one. Anyhow, I would say it's one of my favorite consoles like ever! The games I play on my Switch Lite are by far the best and most cozy games of them all and I'm so happy that I got it! So for everyone that maybe already have other consoles for big screens (like PlayStation or a computer etc) I can recommend the Switch Lite! Because Switch Lite is much lighter (as the name says), more afforable and the game experience is the same as with a regular Switch. I was just sharing my thoughts here :) Thanks for a great video nonetheless! You have a new subscriber!
I just got a Switch in December and I'm so glad I did! I previously played PC and Nintendo DS in elementary school and middle school. Then I did some iOS gaming in high school. I'm so glad I got a console because my phone wasn't cutting it due to a lack of storage. So glad you created this! When I was searching for videos about the Switch nothing was this helpful and realistic.
This is such an amazing video!! I started gaming almost 20 years ago with a Gameboy Advance Color and since then have tried out so many consoles. Currently I'm on Switch Lite and PC, looking to upgrade to a Switch OLED and a better PC soon 🥰💛 I can't wait to get into the cozier side of gaming!!
A Short Hike is absolutely amazing!!! It's the game I go to when I don't have too much time to devote to a game and I want to play something. This video is really helpful!!!! :)
I dont know if all these are considered cozy games, but my favorites are Stardew Valley, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Pokemon Shield, Portal, Undertale & Deltarune. For couple games I like "It takes Two", Overcooked and Luigis Mansion. Loved reading all the other suggestions🥰
Some of my cozy game recs are: Stardew Valley, Slime Rancher 1 and 2, OOBLETS OMG, ACNL (on the 3ds), Nintendogs (on the DS & 3DS), Harvest Moon/Mineral town farming sims, Unpacking, Sims 4 (free on steam right now), and Pokemon Cafe (Free on nintendo E-shop!). Hope that helps :))
Have been gaming for most of my life however i never considered myself a cozy gamer until i found ur page! now im hooked on animal crossing which weirdly is one of my most played games this year. I wanted to ask if you ever considered talking about lego games as cozy games. They are super laid back and super colourful and fun with loads of IPs to hook nearly every type of fan!
You’re def the reason I got back into gaming and got Wylde flowers on my phone, after seeing your recommendation. I just got my switch yesterday and can’t wait to play dreamlight valley 😂😂😂
I have the Lenovo Legion 5 laptop for my gaming. I can’t sit at a desk for any length of time. And due to health, sometimes I can’t leave my bed. So the gaming laptop fits me best. Sure, not a massive screen, but I’ve gotten used to it. Anyway, this is a solid video. Thank you for making it.
I didn't even know about the curators on steam! That was a great recommendation. I agree with the switch recommendations. I'm currently using a gaming laptop but its enough for the occasional gaming I do while I finish school. And then i'll build my PC.
If you want something closer to a lot of our first cozy game- Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (Switch) is based on one of the older ones. And if you want some interesting information on how SoS used to be published under the Harvest Moon name, there's definitely some videos that can explain it. I can't speak to current HM games because I'm still mad lol (yes I know it's legal)
I bought a backbone for my phone to start (because I’m so wishy washy I can’t keep the same hobby for longer than a week for some reason lol) And I love that it was cheaper and It’s super portable! I think it’s really good for beginners too I played lots of Wylde flowers, cozy grove, dream light valley and it also connects to steam so you can really play anything! I REALLY want a switch but to start I was not convinced I was going to actually enjoy gaming as much as I do so I didn’t want to spend all the money
if you arent good at applying skins hardshell cases are an option! i use a white case with a white screen protector and alongside my thumb grips it makes my switch WAYYYY more cuter
I started gaming on my switch. Started with acnh. Just dicovered wylde flowers. LOVE IT!!!! I don't have any games on my laptop because I need it running perfectly for school. But pretty soon we will be building a PC in school. I figured I would just take that one and upgrade it myself for gaming. And YES for the sole purpose of Sims and gta rp.
Thank you so much for the video. I have just bought a switch after no history of consoles before. Harry Potter 3 on PC was my last claim to fame😅 I have taken on board your recs
My partner bought the family a Switch for Xmas and until last week it only had Mario Kart on it. I wanted a cosy game and ended up getting Wytchwood because i don't love farming sims, at least that's not what i wanted to play. I'm loving it, it's not too hard but still makes me think a tiny bit, i can easily put it aside of i get interrupted, and it's so charming and funny. It was cheaper than a lot of other games I'd heard about too, which made me happy 😊
I can't believe the timing of this video. I am a total newbie to cozy gaming and just ordered my Nintendo Switch Lite a couple of days ago. I also recently discovered your channel and have been loving all the great videos you create. Not sure if anyone can answer this for me, but I tried to play Disney Dreamlight Valley on my laptop and didn't love the mechanics. When it comes to playing games on the laptop, should I invest in an actual controller that connects to my laptop? Is that what most people do? I'm excited to explore cozy gaming!
A lot of people do use controllers for laptops/pc's if that's how they prefer to game. Some games suit better with controllers and some others are better with keyboard :)
@@amanda-pb1uy Thank you for your reply! It sounds like it would be a good idea to invest in a controller so that I have the option, depending on what pc game I am playing.
Spiritfarer was my first game that really got me loving games! Esp because it stars a black femme person and i didn't know games ~did that~ so I immediately threw myself into the cozy gaming world and haven't looked back😁
I have the switch oled and personally I do reccomend, BUT not for your first one. If you're getting a nintendo switch I recommend getting one of the cheaper options first. Have fun cozy gaming! ✨️🍂
This video is 👩🏻🍳💋 I was gifted a switch in June and have been pretty invested ever since…this video was sooo relatable but also answered every curiosity I’ve had ❤ Now I’m considering a steam deck if it means I can play Sims without having to buy a wholeeee PC
I play Sims, I have for like 23 years. I went with a 1TB gaming laptop. She cost me a pretty penny but she runs so smooth. I wanted the abilty to take my computer on the go if needed because I also do other things onmy computer like work and play.
I loved this so much!! I picked up a switch in 2020 + loved animal crossing but definitely need. more + am very much a beginner to. gaming. This was great. ❤
I've literally only ever played 3 games on a console (xbox) one of which you mentioned, disney dreamlight valley. I started with Disneyland Adventure which was really fun and does teach you things but some knowledge is implied that you know. I binged it the first day and my husband commented on it, I had to tell him I didn't know how to save and get off so I just kept playing. The other game I've played in Rime, it is very calming but also gives no instructions on what the goal.
I just got gifted a switch and I’ve learned so much through your channel. Thank you for amazing content 😊! Could you please do a video explaining the different types of games (RPG, etc) cause I feel a little lost 😅!
I love this video I got back into gaming two years ago. I only play on switch and it’s my favorite console. To play on. I have way to many games to play . Right now I’m getting into the life is strange series. I’ve already played Life is Strange before the storm remastered. It’s so fun and I’ve played life is strange true colors on switch. Also amazing.
I have the switch lite but I kinda wish I would have asked for the original switch because I grew playing like the sport games with my family and I love seeing the games on a bigger screen.

I started as a Switch girlie and got a Steam Deck in October. Game changer! I especially love that so many games are cheaper on PC than on Switch.
Yup! That is why so many people use computers instead of consoles to play games!

I was just sharing my thoughts here :) Thanks for a great video nonetheless! You have a new subscriber!
I started watching this channel last year and bought a Switch on Christmas!❤
I just got a Switch in December and I'm so glad I did! I previously played PC and Nintendo DS in elementary school and middle school. Then I did some iOS gaming in high school. I'm so glad I got a console because my phone wasn't cutting it due to a lack of storage. So glad you created this! When I was searching for videos about the Switch nothing was this helpful and realistic.
In the middle of a mental health leave from work, so glad I found your channel ❤
This is soooo good and comprehensive!! Thank you so much for explaining !! 🤓🌷✨
I subbed right away. Love your vibe, can't wait to start binging your videos!
ahh thank you!! all of my gaming content is now on a separate channel (Cozy K Games) but thanks for being hereee🥹🫶🏽
Until a month ago, I didn't have my own desk in my apartment, so my gaming laptop was a lifesaver! Very handy for working in bed as well lol
Yay!! Your uploads are my favorite!!
I am really excited to get into gaming!
Thank you for this video! I wish I had found it before I started getting into it for the first time.
Thank you for your kind response to my beginner questions! This video is so incredibly helpful - I think I am in trouble w the cozy games ;) LOL
1 legitttttt was telling my little sister about dream light vids and cozy games to buy yesss I needed thisss
Thank you!! The guide of my baby gaming dreams!!
WEEEEEE this is the perfect video for a Saturday afternoon 🥰🥰🥰 thanks Kennedy 🤎
I didn't even know about the curators on steam! That was a great recommendation. I agree with the switch recommendations. I'm currently using a gaming laptop but its enough for the occasional gaming I do while I finish school. And then i'll build my PC.
This was so well done! You have a new cozy follower 👊🏾
Love this channel. I have fallen love with gaming all over again. ❤❤❤
This is good info. I'm gonna get a Switch OLED soon, and then a PS5 around holiday time. Stuff like this is very helpful. Thanks!
Yesss this is the exact video I need right now! Pumped for it!
I bought a backbone for my phone to start (because I’m so wishy washy I can’t keep the same hobby for longer than a week for some reason lol)
And I love that it was cheaper and It’s super portable!
Oooo that’s a great option!! Also didn’t know it connected to steam that’s insane!
Love coming back to watch this ❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗❤️
I love Cozy Gaming - My perfect combination is my Switch & Steamdeck! Great video!
if you arent good at applying skins hardshell cases are an option! i use a white case with a white screen protector and alongside my thumb grips it makes my switch WAYYYY more cuter
Aww this was so nice to watch even though I’m fully deep into the switch gaming rabbit hole 😂💖
Thank you so much for the video. I have just bought a switch after no history of consoles before. Harry Potter 3 on PC was my last claim to fame😅 I have taken on board your recs
Such a great idea for a video! Amazing job Ken! You kept me company while I made my first meal in my new apartment 🤎
ahhh i hope the apartment is amazinggg!!
Thanks for the Apple Arcade recommendation, i have an iPad & iPhone but no Switch so it seems like a great start!
This is amazing! It helps with my anxiety so much!
Thanks to this video i'm wondering about my first steps in cozy gaming when i was a kid with sims 1 on PC and Harvest Moon on nintendo 64
as someone who already games on pc & desktop but does not own a modem console, this was very informative !! (:
Just here to support and this is GREAT
Spiritfarer was my first game that really got me loving games!
This was such a great video. My Switch has been on the shelf since Christmas. You’ve inspired me to go pick it back up. ❤
Mine has been on the shelf
Nearly a year 😢 I just got back in to gaming last Christmas when I got. Ps5
Thanks for the helpful tips and guide!
Once again an amazing video. Also absolutely love love love the top it looks amazing on you💙
This video is 👩🏻🍳💋
I was gifted a switch in June and have been pretty invested ever since…this video was sooo relatable but also answered every curiosity I’ve had ❤
Now I’m considering a steam deck if it means I can play Sims without having to buy a wholeeee PC
I just love your aesthetics!!!🥹
I play Sims, I have for like 23 years. I went with a 1TB gaming laptop. She cost me a pretty penny but she runs so smooth. I wanted the abilty to take my computer on the go if needed because I also do other things onmy computer like work and play.
Which one did you go for? I would love to be able to play sims smoothly on a laptop :)
@@amyhenke7673 I have an HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 15. I have had it for years.
Yes, watching to support and also I might learn something I wasn’t aware of! ❤
Thank youuu!🤎
wylde flowers got me back into gaming!
so gooood!!
I loved this so much!! I picked up a switch in 2020 + loved animal crossing but definitely need. more + am very much a beginner to. gaming. This was great. ❤
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Ken! :)
I feel like the cozy experience is enhanced when you can cuddle up with your switch in bed and play 🥰
Yesss definitely can!
I grew up playing the sims on the PC, I havent played it in ages may need to play it again.
I didn’t know about deku deals. Great info.
I love my OLED! However, I am buying a Steam Deck next. ❤ Thank you for this video! It was very informative!
You can buy games on physical copies used for much less money than the online store. I’ve never paid over $30 for a major title.
I got animal crossing for Christmas and I’m obsessed 😭🫶🏼
