I appreciated that Elena went up to talk despite how she felt bc of what April told her about nobody speaking about her father. But how messed up of Connor to hurt April at her fathers funeral 🙃
Honestly when it comes to being a vampire Elena should forget about Stephan and Damon and model after Caroline instead, our sweet girl is a badass pro, just look at how she handled the situation with April
Yeah but the show makes it a point to mention that Caroline is a special case. Her control freak personality as a human kinda makes it that she is always in control and vampirism is a lot easier for her, unlike more emotional individuals like Elena.
Elena can't feed without feeling guilty about it, Stefan hates his entire existence and Damon's just wants to be human (secretly). I think the only other character like Caroline is probably Katherine as she too is very singular in her focus.

Anyone loved how they were communicating in the church? I wished they did that more, and they had multiple opportunities with the amount of events the town holds and the drama that follows each.
I dislike Damon heavily but I love how he said “nobody move. Dont turn around, it’s a trap.”

Everytime Elena needs something she calls Damon and every time Caroline needs help she calls Stefan. But everytime everyone needs something they call Bonnie 😂❤️

This episode is the perfect representation of why I think Damon is better for Elena than Stefan, while she is trying to uphold an image to Stefan because he wanted her to only feel on animals and when she said she didn’t know if it could work for her he didn’t really listen, on the other hand she knew she could go to Damon without fear of getting judged or him caring about anything other than Elena feeding to survive. Plus I think is a little controlling of Stefan to practically force animal feeding on Elena, just because it’s what works for him doesn’t mean everyone has to do it.

Stefan knew Elena couldn't kill an innocent because she didn't even want to be a vampire in the first place. He was trying to help her. I do think Elena feels less judged by Damon just because she became darker and her new "her" didn't work out with Stefan. But it's kinda annoying to always see the Delena shippers (or just those who prefers Damon) to portray Stefan like such a bad boyfriend when in reality, Stefan is better for some reasons and Damon for others. He wasn't trying to force her to feed on animals and saying this is missing one big part of Stefan's character and the Stelena relationship.
@@pyxelly0506 Elena didn’t change when she became a vampire, I don’t understand why people love to say she became “darker” why? Because she stopped caring more about what others expected from her than what she really wanted? She was still the same compassionate girl. And as far a Stefan, if he wanted to prevent her from hurting a human why not try the blood bag first? His first instinct was to go to animal blood same as when Caroline turned because that’s what HE had to do to not go into ripper mode, the fact that he thought he had to condition Elena to animal blood so she would hurt people was a projection of his issues.

I feel for Elena, she's just trying her best to get used to being a vampire yet there's still drama over methods and blood sharing and what's happening making it extra stressful

Really enjoy this episode. Connor went in, no hesitation. Caroline is such a QUEEN. Damon talking to Rick is so sweet and sad.
I really like that little whispery conversation between the whole gang in the church :D It seems so cool and badass at the same time for me. Also it's nice to see them all working together like that.
Vampires sharing blood is like them going further than sex. It's not explained further, you are just supposed to get that it's a very intimate act by how Damon paused and how Stefan reacted.
Great reaction! Damon talking to Alaric's grave is one of my favourite scenes! I think that it made sense for his character to go off and grieve alone.

About sharing blood, it’s personal when the person you love feeds on your own blood, it’s an extremely pleasurable feeling, it’s like they’re "making love".
I particularly like this episode a lot, I mean, if we look back and remember how each of the characters was at the beginning and now seeing that they are coming together, forming a family (unfortunately with a lot of losses) is very beautiful and rewarding.
Paul is sooo great when it comes to emotional scenes and Stefan is great at caring for others not only Elena that hug with Bonnie was beautiful and looked like she needed it.
I really liked the lantern scene - and like you said it doesn’t really fit Damon’s character. But I loved that he went to grieve Alaric alone at his grave. It reminds me of when he said when people see good they expect good. And Alaric missing him too 😭😭😭.
stefan should just wear a shirt every episode that says "every emotion is heightened right now" since its his catch phrase

When I see the reactions of the female reactors to the Damon and Alaric scene I think it's almost normal to have a touched reaction we are more emotional but when I see commotion from the male reactors then I think the various scenes are really crazy with strong emotions. I appreciated what Stefan tried to do for the group and give an evening to the memory of loved ones who have lost, but I also understood Damon very much and his need to withdraw and confide in his friend expressing his pain and his emotions, a epic and unique scene, Damon's speech to Alaric is crazy with a unique sensitivity. I also really like how he is very rational and puts the problems and their safety first from the start Damon worked for this I also loved how in the church he ordered and told the group not to move which is a trap. Stefan didn't comment on Damon wrestling with that and Stefan always thinks about punching 🙄

Aight Jer, this was what I was waiting for. If THIS doesn't improve your feelings about Tyler, then there truly is no hope. Knowing that he'd be targeted, he sacrificed himself to save everyone else from the Hunters Trap!! He's not a perfect character, but that's what I like about his character. He starts as an immature, aggressive douchwad and slowly as the seasons pass, he evolves into someone willing to sacrifice himself for his group of friends...one of them being the 1 who killed his Uncle. Plus him being the only wolf in the beginning set him up to be a hybrid able to assist the group more. Pretty kewl if you ask me...

the blood sharing was a really intimate thing in the books between stefan and elena, so this was kind of their way of bringing it up on the show.

I love the lantern and Dalaric scenes so much, this episode is probably on my fave list of season 4

For anyone curious, the symbol on the wooden bullet (same symbol seen on Conner's back of the hand as a tattoo) is the Vegvisir, also known as the Viking Compass. This isn't a spoiler as this has no meaning to the plot whatsoever. It would have been made more sense to use the Helm of Awe, which is the Viking symbol of protection, usually against your enemies. *Spoilers below.*
The Vegvisir could actually make sense in regards to the tattoo since it's a map (the symbol being a compass), but since Silas was Greek, why were Viking symbols used? The first Five were not Vikings. Though, I suppose it wasn't impossible for them to use Viking symbols, if not Viking themselves, since they lived long after that time period (Klaus killed the first 5). Speaking of Silas being Greek, I still don't know why they didn't use Greek symbols. Perhaps, it's just because the Viking symbols look more tribal and cooler? Idk.
Also, this isn't the only time a Viking symbol was used in regards to a non-Viking character. Inadu, in the Originals, is of Native American origin before Vikings came to the New World, and her symbol is of Jormungandr, Loki's serpent son.

Everyone forget that the reason Elena can't fed on animal blood or any blood which is not in the vein is because she was sired to Damon, Damon told her at the beginning she need to feed a warm human blood, so stop comparing Damon to Stefan. The only reason Stefan tried to fed animal blood is because he know, she wasn't going to able to live with herself if she hurt an innocent person, no matter how they tried to control it he know if they once drink human blood there is no way to stop from wanting more, and that always made them killed someone, even Caroline killed someone because of her craving blood.
Omggg when you shared the story about your friends boyfriend puking while they were having sex, I have so many friends stories about shit like that, and not family friendly enough for the comments😂but you can imagine. I also have a friend who was an anesthesiologist who told me all these crazy stories of people coming in the hospital with terrible or crazy sex injuries and needing surgery to fix and it’s WILD. I can tell you on IG if you’re interested in a laugh😂

Since I never read the books, I always assumed the blood sharing thing was partly a vulnerability thing. 🤷♀️ I don't recall Damon doing a double-feeding with Rose, Rebekah, or Sage (all three just so happen to be older than him too). And when he did it with Vicki, she was still a human so Damon was still the "predator" in that dynamic. And Damon fed on Andi and Caroline while hooking up with them, both as humans so again, still the "predator". So Elena is not only an emotional connection but a volatile one since she is new to feeding which could be a danger to him if he isnt careful and yet he allows her to feed from him.
