I felt the same as you Greg, but semi-automatic is a feature that is very difficult to find when you are looking into a turntable upgrade. I am very happy with the performance the TRU-LIFT.
Hi Andy, yes, if you forget to set it, the tonearm will hit it. Because it sits so close to the tonearm cue lever, you will always be reminded to set it.
I love my tonearm lifter, but you are correct, this music hobby gets expensive. A few years ago I had to upgrade my entire audio/video system because of the changes in technology. I had so many HDMI to component/RCA converters hanging off the back of my audio gear, because my thirty year old A/V system did not support HDMI, wireless and Bluetooth. I hope you are not on the 'naughty list' and Santa does you right this year!
Love the name, haha! There are four models. I have Model #1 which the shortest. Here is what is listed on the website. www.integrityhifi.ca/tru-lift Model #1: Adjustable Height 1 1/4" to 1 5/8" Model #2: Adjustable Height 1 5/8 to 2" Model #3: Adjustable Height 2" to 2 3/8" Model #4: Adjustable Height 2 3/8" to 2 3/4".
I though it to be expensive myself too Mike, but once I actually had it in my hands and watched it operate, the hydraulics they use makes it a very precision and gentle device.
They definitely are not cheap Yaheya. I have fallen asleep for hours with an album playing, but I always had the tonearm lift up and return by itself. If I fall asleep now, eight hours of riding in the runout groove cannot be good my stylus 😞
Nice profile picture! I have sacked out the couch while listening to albums and woke up the next morning with the stylus still ticking the runout grove. It is pricey, but I had to do something.
@@iaincowell9747 I do have to agree with you! Aerosmith was my favorite band growing up, I have seen them five times. The last two times was for Get A Grip and Nine Lives. I did not like anything after Nine Live either. If I could only own one Aerosmith album, it would have to be Rocks. Rocks does just that, it rocks.
He has a really nice turntable....MOST turntables over $300 are manual tables....I still wish more turntables would at least lift and return the tonearm aka semi-automatic turntable. Nice armlift product there albeit a tad pricey....happy listening!
@@dobermanguy9437 I just get wrapped up doing stuff and forget I am listening to albums. I have also fallen asleep while listening to albums. It helps me out tremendously.
I just found out about these things in general. In fact, I’ve been putting off upgrading to a better table due to the lack of semi automation

Maybe add a flashing lights warning at the beginning of your video, for epileptics?
I don't know what caused the camera to change the lighting exposurelike that.
If you forget to set it, will the tone arm hit it while its playing?
Hi Andy, yes, if you forget to set it, the tonearm will hit it. Because it sits so close to the tonearm cue lever, you will always be reminded to set it.
Are all runout grooves the same?
That is a great question stevie, I have never given that any thought. Your question has peak my interest! Thanks for being inquisitive.
Premium design. Damn, this hobby has gotten expensive. Maybe Santa will get me one of these.

What is the minimal height of this? From the turntable plinth to the top of lifter arm, with the lifter adjusted as low as it will go.

$385 in Australia now (Oct 2023)
Wow, I just check in the US and the same one is $295. Is there a fee added to ship to Australia or is shipping another charge?
You're like, in the future maaaannnn.
@@MikeSwirledIs that because my haircut is like Doc in Back To The Future 😂
@@StevesStrayStuff No, because 2923
@@MikeSwirledHaha, I didn't even catch that!
gotta love a company making something out of metal to charge 4X more than competition

This thing cost almost as much as my entire turntable. I will leave with the inconvenience thank you!

Hah thats brilliant 👍👍
It is a pretty nifty device!
Not at that price

@@StevesStrayStuff Thanks, imo Nine Lives was their last good album though.

maybe you should brought a better turn table
I did buy a better turntable, but I had to sacrifice convenience for sound quality, now I have the convenience back with the better sound quality 👍

@@FelixtheMetalcat Thanks for confirming I purchased a nice turntable Felix. I am very happy with it!
I have a Denon and it's a manual tonearm I don't mind getting up and the lifting it up myself but it is a nice thing to have but I'm good
