just in case if anyone is curious the statement at 7:57 says this: "Sleeping bodies wake up, cold and stiff. Bring back restless souls walking in the night"
I can’t wait to see more from this developer… their approach and stories are so haunting and dark. They really have some wonderfully creepy and great ideas about the occult
I feel like maybe the devs had a smaller budget but made an extremely pleasant landscape with an interesting story with what they had. I'd be interested to see them produce something with a large backing.
1:49:30 rose, rather than saying something bad happened in the village, how about you talk to your dad about the torture room/church, the notes discussing murder and the witchcraft symbology in there? You know, just a suggestion.
Watched at 2am and that damn mannequin and guy/doll with the face mask scared the hell out of me. I’m a huge horror fan and jump scares usually don’t bother me, but that shit had my heart racing. Hahaha. Great videos as always. SHN👍🏻
(Tax Collector like 3 months later) “Hey, sorry to bother you! Hard to find this place! Is your dad around? This is the Weatherby address, correct? …Oh. I’m so sorry for your loss, I apologize. We don’t seem to have any records of his passing- …OH. You mean just- That grave right there? Yourselves? Well…uh, so who all IS living here? Just you and your sister, huh? So you’ve taken over legal guardianship of her, or- You don’t know what that means, okay. How old? And what school does she go to? None! Huh. So are you homeschooling her? Hmm, okay so there are laws- Well we’ll get to that. First off, are you employed? Just the farm. And are you drawing any income off…*gestures to 3 chickens and 10 planter beds* this, or- Just enough to keep the lights on? Ah, you must be Miss Emma! What a pretty dress- …The only one you own? You as well? …Shit, I’m gonna have to make some calls. Hold on.”
I enjoyed this, watched it through to the end. It kept its own tone to the story but you can definitely see the influence of other horror titles, and between the puzzle's and settings I would say RE and SH. Always a pleasure to watch your playthroughs.
Despite the bad voice acting, this was a pretty good game! The moment the father said they were going to remove the chains to that door, I began yelling at the TV. LOL.
I'm already yelling at the MC cuz she read the note from the first puzzle OUT LOUD, and then she wants the read the weird demon book? Like WTF. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't hate the game, but the MC doesn't seem to be on the bright side. I mean, creepy door with hooks? Doesn't that scream demonic stuff? And I'm only 9 min into the game....
“The front door being unlocked would be too convenient, wouldn’t it?” There’s literally no good reason the front door SHOULD be locked if they’ve just arrived. He doesn’t have the key?!
The game is directed so nicely. I remember when I was six or seven yo I got flue and slept in my parents bedroom. There was a carpet on the wall. They said it's a very good carpet, costs a lot and everything, but it's patterns was a little bit hard for child taste. So I saw a dream. I walk in the cemetery. Gravestones all around were old and one of them allured my attention. I came closer and saw ornament from that carpet carved on it. It was baroque with black inside. And while dreaming it I knew it was the pass to the devil, it felt scary and magnifying at the same time. I wanted to say, I never saw somebody used an idea of witch cemetery before. Cool
Ok so wait a minute, how are these people getting power if this town is so isolated; did none of the field workers from the power company did not suspect anything? She did get the right idea when she grabbed the shotgun. 😁 Good story though.
The game was pretty ok, but considering it's 13$ i have a few problems with it. the animations and voiceovers are terrible, even for an indie game. For a game in that price range i kinda expected atleast some semi-professional speakers, because the ones that were used sound way too much like people you'd casually meet on the street. The textures and their shading look bad too, especially wood. You can see this at 20:00 perfectly where the texture on the left is entirely dark but still manages to shine like metal somehow. Don't get me started on the dozens of plotholes and bad story explanations like the key in the beginning (i know the dad explains it, but it still doesn't make sense) or how he's explaining the chained door like "oh yeah i noticed that too but lol" - like cmon buddy, nobody would move into a place without opening all doors and rooms first. and nobody would expect the daughter to break into the house and fix the electricity. the game felt half-arsed to be honest. there's hundreds, hell thousands of really good free downloadable animation assets you can use commercially and yet vincent lade still decides to use NONE at all. there's many more indie devs that deliver so much better work in the same price range, idk
Thanks, I thought i was the only one who thought that a lot of story aspects weren't adding up at all. Also completely agree on the technical aspects, it feels like a mashup from the developers previous games including the bad parts
Wow. One of the worst games i've ever experienced. The Characters are plain dumb (Oh, my sister sleepswalks like mentioned in the grimoire, i wake up at 3:30 a.m. to a knock and my door is open. Well I think I'll just gonna sleep again.), there's always the same, monotone cello, creating a disastrous bgm, never changing its pace. I see what the developer wanted to achieve, but the unnaturally acting chars really kill the game. I mean, dozens of candles are getting lit in front of you, all the strange things happen and you ask 2 hours later who put on the lights in a few laterns? Witchcraft, maybe?
Comment 1) the only thing I don't like, as of 1:51:53, is that Rose is so against magik and anything supernatural. yeah, she's older and has been completely assimilated into the "magik" is fantasy part of society which means she doesn't understand what she's experiencing. as we all know, people fear what they don't understand. naturally, their fear makes them hate what they don't understand. part of why humanity is so partial to science. nowadays, they use the excuse of "science" is real. why? they understand science. for most humans, understanding things and proof makes something real. otherwise, its completely wrong and fake until proven otherwise. i am of the small faction that believes the mystical and the supernatural to be real, and I don't need proof. it'd be nice to see it, but I don't need it. i digress. the fact Rose is so against Emma speaking to Lucilia is based on things she has read and clearly didn't like, due to not understanding it. Now, I get that Lucilia is literally a stranger to her so she is wary of how "good" Lucilia may or may not be. Stranger danger and whatnot. However, if it makes Emma happy... she shouldn't be so against it. If anything, she should just request a face-to-face meeting so she can assess whether Lucilia is a danger to Emma or not. unfortunately, the reason why kids are usually visited by spirits first is because kids are more able to see and interact with them more than adults. why? adults lose any ability to believe in the supernatural, and usually see themselves or others as crazy if something supernatural is seen. Comment 2) 1:55:03 I get that a lot of people see all human life as sacred/precious. I, on the other hand, do not share that belief. Rapists, for example, don't deserve the life they have. At least, the ones that actually force people into sex. those that are willing but legally forbidden to... they don't deserve death. maybe a chastity belt for about a month, but that's it. That being said, I do realize that Lucilia is willing to kill innocent people. However, I don't blame her or condemn her for that. she's just a pawn in a demon's game. She thinks she's finally going to be with her son forever, so of course, she's going to do all this stuff. She is desperate to be with him. I believe all grieving mothers would do this if they were that desperate. Comment 3) 1:57:27 I don't believe Rose was in any danger in this little dream. Why? Emma cares about Rose and Lucilia clearly likes Emma, so she wouldn't attack Rose at all. She would want Rose on her side. So, I would've gone in to show I trusted Emma. That's what I would've done in Rose's place. Besides, even in a dream, people need to think of their family first. not themselves. Rose clearly acted with selfish desires, and SHN evidently shared them. on the other hand, if he played this game before and disliked the ending he got for going into the backroom, then i understand why he decided to NOPE out of there. I get that horror games make seeing the supernatural and the mystical as scary and evil as the only way to survive the story, and some hardcode that into characters' personalities. however, irl, i wouldn't be so quick to run away. Comment 4) 2:00:16 figures. Rose is religious. No wonder she fears magik and the supernatural. The bible says they're evil, and like a loyal sheep she took it as fact instead of bias and lies written by prejudiced humans. Comment 5) video ended. Considering her religious views, its quite ironic she signed that book and used a spell(of some kind) to rid Emma of Lucilia.
First watch the entire thing check the story and then judge . No valid criticism after only 25 minutes like da hell . Not defending the game just saying first watch the game then judge . Don’t judge after 25 minutes after I uploaded it
the best channal of horror ever 👻👻👻💯👏👏👏

Looolll 😂

Expects his daughter to:
1) break into their house after arriving with all of their belongings in a truck
2) rewire the electricity
3) game starts

He says at the start where the key is xD

Dad: I haven’t lived in this town in over 40 years.

Also, I like the video.
