В Томске напротив студенческой обащиши в 79-ом году появиась надпись "The WALL " - до сих пор традиция жива и надпись регулярно обновляется. Поиск "The Wall Томск " не даст соврать . 😀 Ну собственно там рядом памятник Кирову - ему сапоги тоже регулярно красят... .

2020г. Даже на сегодняшний день это звучит как похороны всей остальной музыки заживо. Как это воспринималось в 1979 году, не представляю. Наверное, можно было умереть от аудиооргазма))
В 14 лет имел счастье слушать ЭТО на японской аппаратуре(при совке это был космос)...Любые деньги которые водились четко уходили в студии звукозаписи...Ночами крутили,только за то чтобы понять смысл о чем поют выучил английский)))))))После красной бредятины(ЗОМБОЯЩИКА) был потрясен...Такие были времена...ЛУЧШИЕ В МОЕЙ ЖИЗНИ И МОЕГО ПОКОЛЕНИЯ!!!Сегодня со мной внучки слушают...

My god I grew up listening to this on the radio. If only I'd have known then how much of an impact it would have on my life, for ever. Pink Floyd have been in my life for over 40yrs now, and they'll be with me until the day I die........I've seen them play live, Roger Waters twice - The Walll / Us & Them, and, I have a drumstick from Nick Mason that he threw into the crowd in a festival in Belgium, and I caught it. Yes, I consider myself very fortunate.

My dad gave me some too he gave me dark side. meddle .the final cut .the wall and delicate sound of thunder and all the Roger Waters solo albums alleen in vinyl even amused to death

I never thought about this before, but those kids in the chorus they must be like 50 by now, I suppose they didn't know at the time how historically important and musically significant this album was going to be, I guess it must be funny each time they hear this song they think "this is me singing".
God I'm not sure about the original recording (despite the music video) but live performances of this song have a small choir worth of women.
The kids think $$$ when they hear this- THEY SUED THE BAND FOR PERFORMANCE ROYALTIES AND WON IN COURT. They did enjoy the experience. It was kind of School Of Rock before School Of Rock... Then with a change in copyright laws they realized they could be compensated.
God - The kids were 13 and 14 then so they’d be about 52 or 53 which is pretty mind blowing as I’m 55. This is about their lawsuit.

i remember my music teacher in 6 grade allowing us to bring an album once a week to listen to.someone in my class brought The Wall in.He was so cool,he left the class for a little and left us rock out to this!! One cool teacher and one great album!!😎😎😎

For a album that has it all this is one that stayed HOT all through both 1979/80 and it went straight to platinum status.

This is such a good quality! Never heard so many details of this song! I recorded this video on compact cassette with my 3-head deck and it sounds great. Maybe the best cassette I've ever recorded. Pink Floyd forever

Tripped out to this song and let me tell you, it took me on a spiritual journey. Even without tripping this song hits everything perfectly. Masterpiece of a song and will always be remembered.

The Wall e' stato uno dei dischi in vinile che ho praticamente consumato a furia di ascoltarlo. Grande LP uno dei miei preferiti in assoluto.

My cousin told me an anecdote about this passage.
After the LP had been marketed, one of his comrades had bought the record and while listening to this piece, he thought that a helicopter had passed over his house, so he interrupted the broadcast to listen to it again. He stopped believing for a second time. that the same helicopter was passing over his home and unleashed a torrent of curses against the pilot of the aircraft and it was only the third time that he understood his mistake
