The National Guard is on the southern border, not the U.S. ARMED FORCES. There's a difference the National Guard take on a role of state(s) militia (although can be deployed to a foreign country. Whereas the Armed Forces cannot be deployed within United States territory unless America was militarily under attack from a foreign military.
War in the American Hemisphere is a no go. Build America do not make war on it.
Paul states that ISIS have little capability to attack the US. I disagree if the US has an open border policy at home.

Veteran here as well. You know Trump said the same thing about letting other more vested state actors deal with ISIS. The whole reason why the Russians sent troops to Syria wasn't to confront the US it was to fight ISIS. Its why Trump said in 2015 just let the Russians deal with ISIS in Syria they have a friendly relationship with Assad. BTW everyone knows the Deep state was funding ISIS to destabilize Syria to affect regime change. They've been doing that type of crap since the end of WW2. Find a civil war anywhere on the globe and I'll show you the CIA's hand in it.

As a veteran of Iraq x3 tours. I went from being a believing in I was serving my country and defending it. After Iraq I see my country sending troops around the world as mercenaries. And in other situations I see my country deploying troops as Rome sent its legions to hold fast its grip on power. America is the new Rome and our troops are being used as projection of power in exchange for preferred trade with our allies. None of what we did in Iraq had anything to do with defending America and my friends and fellow soldiers died in a war that ended up being completely pointless. It's no wonder young people don't want to join the military these days. They have grown up watching what happened to myself and fellow soldiers in the last few decades.

My generation was of fighting age at the time, a lot of my friends signed up to go fight. I remember being one of the few at the time who was completely against that invasion and everyone at the time used to claim I was not patriotic and didn't love our boys in uniform.
My point was simple, I am against this war because I love you guys and I don't want you to go over there and potentially ruin your lives over some demonstrable BS the white house is spewing. My arguments never worked, I lost a lot of friends over this at the time. Some I lost for good because they simply never made it home. :O(
It breaks my heart what happen to a lot of you guys over there. And to add insult to injury, how poorly the fellas with serious injuries were taken care of when you came home. People are patriotic sending you off to war but they lose all patriotism when you get home.
That conflict really changed a lot of us, it really changed me. I was never really able to trust anything the media pushed after that nor did I believe anything coming out of the white house as to why we have to do XYZ overseas. I'm sure millions feel as I do now.

We were all in shock after 9/11 and then our military went into Afghanistan. But when they went into Iraq, my Dad shook his head and said, " You don't go into someone else's back yard and start telling him how to do things". He was ww2, Korea, USN.
He also knew not to ever trust the govt or the VA. Shortly Before he died, he lowered his head and shook it in disbelief. He said the next war is going to be waged on our soil here. He could see our government turning on its citizens. We are far beyond that now. His generation would have stopped this corruption.

@@awptsm Because the US has a responsibility and commitments with various peoples of other nations. The US and Niger have bilateral relations. Just because people like you are ignorant, naive and take for granted of the efforts of establishing, cooperating and maintaining peace, doesn't mean we shouldn't be involved with other nations, turn our back on them, or committing nefarious acts. Those countries are currently trying to repel extremist organizations like al Qaeda and the Islamic State and in the case of Niger's leaders and the US work together to deal with that. This is on top of all the humanitarian aid and support to build and improve their nations so that they may also have a better quality of life that once again many in the West take for granted.
