This is the most legit, original alternative to a monorail that I've ever seen! Wow!
There’s another video featuring this that shows the propulsion/drive system. Each car has 2 oversized rubber tires that give it its smooth ride over the tiles
I’d love to see more on how he built it. I’m not really interested in the next-level aspects like the track switches or the train swap feature, but just the smooth and seemingly very quiet monorail would be loads of fun to set up
Amazing design! When he showed the track switch function my mind blew. Awesome build for the robot scooter, and all the functions of the classic space train. What a great guy! Thanks for sharing this BTB!
honestly, I'd prefer to have something like this over the classic monorail
My wallet prefers this.
I was expecting more detailed inspection of the techniques used for the standard bricks to form the circular shapes of the monorail. It's basically what the title says and should have been the focus of the video.
Yeah right?!
Exactly! Basic bricks and tiles don't curve. I'm thinking they are on top that tank track looking pieces
Totally agree!!!
@@nathonso_edits not from the builder. It's not really hard to zoom in for a closer inspection of the monorail for everyone to see and enjoy the techniques used. Just a closer visual inspection would have sufficed.

Damn that’s pretty impressive. I like how the tracks can switch up n stuff and that remote is sweet it’s like a universal lego train remote lol. Can control anything
This is amazing! The track design is brilliant. Would love if lego would bring back the monorail sets.
How many basic bricks do you like?
Him: Yes!
A really elegant alternative to the classic monorail! Bravo!
This is the future of LEGO monorail
Clean genius design. I really love when ppl push the limits with just simple bricks.
Joshua:"So what are some of the challenges to keep this monorail running?"
Hidaka: "Yes"
Dear Joshua I really like your style of interviewing ;)
Amazing built!!!!
Looks like a combo 1x2 & 2x2 plates, tiles, & bricks to make the curves.
I wonder how the tracks are build, because this is amazing and I never expected the rails switch like that. You cannot deny that Masao Hidaka is a master builder so I want to say, thank you for your inspiration.
Of course the best Lego train ever is Japanese made.
Mars Shinkansen.
agreed lol
These brick build monorails by Masao are really nice. Since I saw them for the first time years ago, I wanted something like that for my city.
This guys the man.
This is clever and elegant as hell.
🙋♂️ Very Nice job this monorail👌👍🏼😉
This is awesome I love the way the guy says O O it’s so funny
That's amazing, never seen anything like that before. Very impressive!
there is a german dude who uses the same technic with yellow bricks, but this one looks even better
This is incredible
this guy is the best! i want to build with him
This is just incredible....
This is incredible!
Lego: No more monorails for you.
Masao Hidaka: Hold my beer...
You mean Saki..
I love LEGO
Wow!!!! Clear winner for me love it👍
I love how he totally ignored the last question and just repeated the same shit he already showed off before
I feel happy watching this.
Superb build
Wow...very good monorail 🚅🚃🚃
Actual monorail systems do have moving track sections for switching trains in and out of service.
absolutely awesome this construction! thnx for sharing, would like to see more details how the rails are constructed
Beautiful build, this mono rail is super. 👍👍👍😎😎😎
rego bricku love this accent man
I love Rego.
I'd love to see how the bogeys are built as well as plans for the tracks. I'd love to build one of these!
TBH, I just never realized I could do this. I've already started to think about how to make a functional bogey system, and threw together a piece of straight test track. :D
AHA! It's so much simpler than I was thinking! (also just sub'd to his channel. :D )
Remind me of plarail train set. But this is much better!
Absolutely genius
great build!
How did he build the circle tracks with standard elements?
I would assume with a lot of those old hinge pieces at a slight angle
Lots of heat
@@niiinaa I am hoping it was done without damaging pieces to the point where they could not be used again in something else.
It looks like he might have mounted the blue track on thin tank tracks to enable the curve.
He's got a video about it. His channel is called 'Masao hidaka'
This is sooo cool
only the Japanese would be able to make this. they're the masters of doing stuff like this with toys
Super impressed.
Ooooooooo cool monorail
incredible
Very beautiful
very clever! also looks very cool!
that is so cool!
いつも見ている動画にまさかの日本人でびっくり!
しかもすごい完成度!!
Looks like Spiderman has a new job as a monorail driver.
it's surprising that the curved sections of the track don't want to go back to being straight on their own. I'll have to try this some day to see for myself.
I highly recommend anyone interested in learning more about these these custom monorails to check out this Eurobricks topic, where they can find tons of disscusion, information, MOCs, and answers to any questions one may have about Custom Monorails.
Cheers! 😊

Watching this video was nothing but frustration. All I wanted to know was how did he build the turns and elevation changes of the guideway. If you're going to interview someone with a slick trick like that, please ask them how did they build it. The only reason I watched this video is I wanted to know how to get the and result of curved guideways for a logo monorail.
New bricks can bend and take stress, that’s probably how he got it to curve like that.
Cool build.
Can u put instructions on how to build on rebrickable pretty please
I'm just about to rebuild my 1987 lego futuron space monorail for the first time in about 25 years. Now I wish I could just build this one instead.
Very nice!
Awesome! I love it!
Awesome!
LEGO wishes they could be this clever. What a way to sell those basic blue bricks!
YES
I want this
Is there a chance the track could bend?
Not on your life, my Hindu friend
But how did he achieve the curves? I can't figure it out? Did he use that tank track looking pieces?
ua-cam.com/video/mqYmFWg_tVc/v-deo.html
Awesome
i'd like to see the bottom how do they move how do you build the tracks?
@@countrabricksbuildcraze8916 yeah but i want to see how it's built.
How did you make the turns and uphills?
Yes
Very cool!
Was the end a loop of an earlier part?
mono = mono
rail = rail
I wonder how he built the curves
Nice!
What's that name again?
Monorail, Monorail, Monorail! !
Now I am off to watch The Simpsons Monorail Episode.
...monorail...monorail...monorail!
Do something 1930s like
I think I’ve seen this in japan (I live in Japan)
I swear this was on the channel before?
About a year ago I think?
We interviewed him about a different version of the monorail a couple of years ago.
@@BeyondtheBrick oh ok
Wait what...normal 1x2?? But how...those curves.
*Tape is not a standard brick*
