A seedling should be grafted when it's about 30cm long..after planting the tree can start flowering from one & a half years if well fed. However, you should allow your plants to reach 2 years so that they are strong enough to hold the fruits.

Minimum no. Of fruits at three years per tree is 500. So you can do the maths assuming you have 140 trees in your 1 acre

Hi, thank you for checking on Kakeo farm. Hass Avocado is doing extremely well in Kajiado county which is relatively very hot. The key is availability of adequate water.

When we were consulting some industry heads to plant Hass and we were told that the temperature is not conducive for Hass and we should be planting Pinkerton or Etinger. The local rootstock what you are using, how is the response with respect to yield, disease and canopy?
With regard to diseases, I haven't seen anything of concern so far.. Only at the time of fruiting you need to control the fruit fry for quality fruit. The Hass tree does not overgrow in height like the conventional one.Its height can be controlled at 5ft max.
