Farmers use soil testings to get info about deficient mineral in soil thus using chemicals in pots often results imbalance of nutrients in soil because of nutrient specific quality of inorganic fertilizers, its my personal experience. I'll recomend beginners to use minimal chemicals about 10-20 dependence of chemicals is perfect in my opinion.
