Lashaun Gordon My opinion only... i don't believe so much in public proposals for two reasons: 1.) the girl is more likely to be forced to say yes bec of she says no then boom 2.) if you are caught off guard, and you're not sure (whether you wanna say yes or not) it can be obvious and u end up lookin like the inconsiderate bitch i mean do you if u feel confident as a man but idk it always feels like aside from the man being embarrassed, the girls get the most disadvantage out of this situation for those two reasons esp if it happens where the family is there etc...of course unless you have really thick skin and is comfortable with being booed. I'd much prefer if proposals are done privately but again i don't have the statistics to back it up, just my 2 cents. Most proposals I see are successful anyway...at least on youtube

Definitely. If the mother is trying super hard to console the baby you can’t be rude. If she doesn’t do anything, I would speak up and tell her to check on the baby. If she gets offended by that and gets rude, then I can be rude too.
Why would you propose to someone you have never seriously talked about marriage and made future plans with? The friend buying the same dress happened to me several times with the same friend. One time I bought a dress and then two weeks later she's on IG wearing the same dress lol. I was like "nice dress" and it looked great on her. What made me mad was another time we bought the same dress at the same time and I planned to wear it for my birthday and I texted her and told her I was wearing it.. When I got to her house, her mom was like "omg she's wearing that too"..so she wore the same exact outfit as me for my 16th birthday dinner on purpose. Smh we're not friends anymore for other reasons though.
Me and my sister would buy the same outfit just in a different color and once one person knows that the other is wearing their own one of us doesn't wear ours at that time.
And it sucks when they look better than you in it. Like two of my cousins bought a dress I had and I told them when I was wearing it so they didn’t wear it and one of them really wore it and I had to change cuz it made me look bad
I remember being on a flight from NYC going back home to HTown Texas, many years ago. I was truly in pain because I went straight from the club, to the hotel, to LaGuardia. We were stuck on the runway for almost two hours because of rain, and there was this poor baby girl crying her eyes out, sitting next to me w her dad, the whole time. Of course people were making comments, and Dad along with Mom who sat across aisle with two more older children kept apologizing. Once we took to the air, I asked the flight attendant to please give me a sprite with no ice, and a cup of ice too. I dipped an ice cube in the sprite and, with permission from Dad, gave it to to the baby girl. She stopped crying in about a minute. Poor baby girl just started that day teething. I come from a big family and baby sat a lot growing up, so I thought that could have been what was going on. Needless to say I got many free cocktails after that, from Dad, Mom, and nearby passengers. Haha! I don't have children of my own, but my heart goes out to the parents who travel with their babies.
That JUST happened to me two weeks ago. My friend came in town and brought her boyfriend and was expecting to stay at my house! Id only met him once and they havent been together long. Oh and did i mention she had somewhere to be that required a ticket and he didnt have one, so she just assumed he could stay with me while she did her thing? Uh no! I let it slide just this once considering other circumatances but the ground rules were reset. Try it again and u both will be sleeping outside!

I never understood why people get so worked up about being dressed the same? I had a friend in jr high who freaked on me one day because she was wearing a very SIMILAR outfit, not the same, similar. When I first saw her I literally laughed and started saying how this was a funny coincidence and she turned it into this huge deal. I just don't get it. It's stupid in my opinion.
Never shoot people with crying babies on planes dirty looks. It's so petty and classless. I'm not even a kids person and I sometimes get stuck next to crying babies on a 20 hour (!!!) flight and I get over it... because I understand that parents don't generally fly with a newborn for fun reasons, it's usually a family emergency of some kind, the baby is probably in pain from the pressure on his/her ears and the parents are probably already on the verge of tears from exhaustion. Be kind!

My Mom told me that one time she was on a flight and a baby was crying. Idk if she said it directly to the parents or just aloud but she said “the baby is probably cold.” & later on the parents finally put a blanket on the baby, & the baby quieted down. So it’s not always bad to speak up if you do it politely. Nobody wants to hear a kid screaming for hours. I say people should try to get to know their babies and how to keep them in a pleasant mood so they’re not disturbing the peace. A baby cries when they’re uncomfortable, not for no reason. Your job as a parent is to try and figure out why the baby is crying so that you can comfort them and get them so stop. They shouldn’t be crying nonstop for hours.
I read a story once where the Mom knew her kid would cry the entire time (he was sick), so she baked a batch of cookies and made goodie bags for the passengers as an apology...shoot,I wouldn't have minded at all, lol

*I have a question for all you mothers please.* I'd like your advice because I am not a mother, I did raise my two younger sisters and have babysat a lot of children of all ages but I want to do the right thing. With the question about the baby, if they're crying excessively I try to make it a point to not act irritated. The only thing that sucks is when the mom is ignoring or neglecting the baby, on which case I speak up. If the mom is trying I usually say "you're doing great, you're an awesome mom. Is there anything I can do to help? Like help you take your groceries to your car?" That's like if she's trying to manage other kids too and bag groceries or whatever, probably overwhelmed. *Is that okay for me to say?*
Me and my friend hang out a lot,like a lot, so one time we were planning to go out like always and one my friends suddenly tell me "Oh you *name* is coming with us" You see normally I don't make a big deal out of this,but out of ALL people, the person they invited WAS MY EX. My friend and my ex are best friends and I don't mind cause yeah that's not my problem but they invited them knowing that we ended in bad terms and it was a really toxic relationship and NO ONE IN THE GROUP LIKES THEM. I was pretty mad so I didn't end up going.

OMG I can relate to that last one on so many levels. I honestly can't think of anything more annoying than this! Im not friendly, or comfortable around strangers, so inviting random people to outings is a big NO NO. Nobody wants to hang out with people they don't know.

The baby scenario would seriously annoy me. I might just have to speak up especially if the parents are ignoring it and pretending everything is okay. I would let it slide if they at least try to calm their kid just once. I do think certain places need baby free zones eg long flights, certain restaurants. I'm sorry...

Oh God, that last one YES! I get so pissed off when plans are changed without consulting each other. Even worse getting asked for favors without knowing the whole Plan. Nothing worse than People and Places being thrown in the mix, as if its none of your Business.

I never understood why people get so worked up about being dressed the same? I had a friend in jr high who freaked on me one day because she was wearing a very SIMILAR outfit, not the same, similar. When I first saw her I literally laughed and started saying how this was a funny coincidence and she turned it into this huge deal. I just don't get it. It's stupid in my opinion.
I guess for me it would be the fear/annoyance of comparison and “who wore it better” type stuff

Never shoot people with crying babies on planes dirty looks. It's so petty and classless. I'm not even a kids person and I sometimes get stuck next to crying babies on a 20 hour (!!!) flight and I get over it... because I understand that parents don't generally fly with a newborn for fun reasons, it's usually a family emergency of some kind, the baby is probably in pain from the pressure on his/her ears and the parents are probably already on the verge of tears from exhaustion. Be kind!

My Mom told me that one time she was on a flight and a baby was crying. Idk if she said it directly to the parents or just aloud but she said “the baby is probably cold.” & later on the parents finally put a blanket on the baby, & the baby quieted down. So it’s not always bad to speak up if you do it politely. Nobody wants to hear a kid screaming for hours. I say people should try to get to know their babies and how to keep them in a pleasant mood so they’re not disturbing the peace. A baby cries when they’re uncomfortable, not for no reason. Your job as a parent is to try and figure out why the baby is crying so that you can comfort them and get them so stop. They shouldn’t be crying nonstop for hours.

I read a story once where the Mom knew her kid would cry the entire time (he was sick), so she baked a batch of cookies and made goodie bags for the passengers as an apology...shoot,I wouldn't have minded at all, lol

yep this is why if I meet the right person I'll hope he'll propose in private. and if anyone propose to me privately is better because I don't like a lot of attention and won't want to seem like such a stuck up if I didn't feel like that for the guy. the crowd would make me nervous and feel worst.

*I have a question for all you mothers please.* I'd like your advice because I am not a mother, I did raise my two younger sisters and have babysat a lot of children of all ages but I want to do the right thing.
With the question about the baby, if they're crying excessively I try to make it a point to not act irritated. The only thing that sucks is when the mom is ignoring or neglecting the baby, on which case I speak up.
If the mom is trying I usually say "you're doing great, you're an awesome mom. Is there anything I can do to help? Like help you take your groceries to your car?" That's like if she's trying to manage other kids too and bag groceries or whatever, probably overwhelmed. *Is that okay for me to say?*

You see normally I don't make a big deal out of this,but out of ALL people, the person they invited WAS MY EX. My friend and my ex are best friends and I don't mind cause yeah that's not my problem but they invited them knowing that we ended in bad terms and it was a really toxic relationship and NO ONE IN THE GROUP LIKES THEM.
