She's definitely approaching music differently after the movie. I think she sounds phenomenal. Her tone is definitely an acquired taste for many though, but she sings!
Whatever training they have given her to play Aretha made her technique better but I still think her musicality sucks. She is just a loud instrument with some range. She doesn’t know what to do with her instrument other then blast the girls to hell and show off her VOLUME.
Jennifer is incredible I love her and I love her tone I'm glad she's don't sound like everybody else. Glad she stands out so tired of the same type tone in the industry. Tired of everyone trying to be someone there not just to please people. She's a big powerhouse and she can't help that she has a big tone she's incredible and if ya'll don't like her tone then why are Y'all listening to her and commenting.
1)In terms of belting Jennifer takes the cake because she can sustain, hold note and phrasing or form words above E5,F5 and G5 with ease this is something that whitney lack of she can only hit the note above E5 for shorter period of time or just for a second 2) it's actually not fair to compare because they're both have different voice type jennifer is a soprano while Whitney was a mezzo...you can watch BLACK MUSIC ARCHIVE channel where they bring classical soprano singer LEONA MITCHELL to talk about a soprano and she said no matter what the genre the singers sing a soprano middle voice is still center at the note E5,F5 and G5.Jennifer hudson hitting so many note above E5 with ease even phrase the words from the songs.whitney never does them she just casually hit them note so she count as a mezzo... 3)for headvoice both jennifer and Whitney never go that high it's only C6 or maybe C#6.whitney and jennifer does go for i think G#6 or A6 at some other performance but that's just for one performance it's not like they do it often.but i give headvoice more to Whitney because she is the best when it comes to headvoice she can transition from chest to headvoice like nobody's business.but also want to appreciate Jennifer headvoice because she seems become better and better over the years.she had them headvoice but she rarely use them. 4)for somebody that have no idea what i mean by singing and hitting the note is that from 5.19 this is how you know if someone is a soprano or not... Jennifer phrasing two G5 here with a relax face because G5 wasn't that high for a soprano...but for a mezzo they're just gonna hit them note and not phrasing or form the words...because the note above E5 was already a peak of mezzo comfortable range
@lordvoldemort5725 but does it consistent????I watch all of her performances she only does them like 1 or 2 performances I wouldn't call that consistent watch jhud she can do the note with vibrato throughout her entire career not just random runs and hit the note but never phrase and belt them with vibrato.whitney does them note in this one performances and the next tour she can't do them the next year she can't do them is that consistent???her fans always say because she is sick???is she sick for her entire career???and then they say to preserve her voice she needs to lowering the keys for most of the songs from right there you can tell she wasn't comfortable on those notes she were singing.
It’s just if people start for example the first note they say is eb3 which means e flat they have to say the other notes on the flat version so that they don’t get confused

Her head voice is beautiful
I know how legendary her belted notes are but c'mon her head voice is incredible and beautiful 😍

Frr 😭
The sustained D#5s are soooo good
I wonder if Jennifer has the able to pull off a few Bluebelle songs such as "Go on, Down the isles or Danny boy"
Where my *spinto* and *dramatic* *sopranos* 💖💖💖
No comments? She sounds amazing!!!
She's so so underrated!
The one and only Ms. JENNIFER ULTRAGIFTED HUDSON!!
Essa mulher é incontrolável 😍
She took the sound off her cords and more into her nose for a brassier tangier sound
I wish I was there. This is so good. 🙌♥️✨
Man her range and power is just unmatched. Great video!
Incríveeeel!!
Great
I have a question would you say her and Whitney Houston have a the same range as far as belting and head voice?
In terms of head voice, the two have the same range.
In a matter of belt, Jennifer does better, C6 against A5 of Whitney
in terms of range Jennifer wins the point, in terms of supported range Whitney absolutely annihilates Jennifer
