Dude!! I'm the guy that was having trouble saving and uploading. Thanks so much. I guess I need to take time to do my research. It works now!! Thank you x 1000000 :D
Derek, thanks so much for your videos! I'm using Movie Studio 12 and my original capture looks great but when I drop that video into Movie studio, the color is washed out and the blacks are not black. I went into video FX and used "Sony Levels", chose computer to RGB and it's better... is this the best fix? I placed this FX on the entire track... 90 minute video thanks Tim
Interesting occurrence. I burned my first DVD with Sony today. The sound had clicks when played with Power DVD, and skips and empty segments when played with VLC Media player. I burned it again several times using different burners, same result. I noticed in the "Burn DVD" popup window, for the audio format it said Stereo, which is what I had it set for, but it also said PCM. I'm no expert but I know PCM is uncompressed, and I really don't want it. I thought it would be 2-channel Dolby digital stereo. So I reset it for Dolby digital 5.1, the only other choice, and burned again. No clicks or skips and it sounded great, even through a 2-channel stereo system! So that's what I'll use from now on, but I don't understand why 2-channel dolby digital isn't available. I know other editors have it. Keep up the great work and blessings on your health!
If you want to have access to all options and use a more professional workflow that Vegas Pro users use, read this FAQ article. This is the only way to access ALL render options. The basic automated workflow in Movie Studio is designed fort people who don't want to bother with more detailed settings. www.moviestudiozen.com/doctor-zen-faq/167-how-to-render-a-dvd-for-dvd-architect If you read my tutorial for Vegas Pro users, you will be able to adapt this to Movie Studio Platinum. Every time I mention "Render As", use Make Movie/Save to Hard Driver/Advanced in Movie Studio and you end up in the same place as Vegas Pro. www.moviestudiozen.com/free-tutorials/dvd-architect-studio-50/532-how-to-render-video-dvd-bluray-menus-sony-vegas-pro
Thank you! I read the article and was able to burn the DVD with 2-channel AC-3! Please allow me to bother you with one more question. When I clicked "Finish" to start the burn a message came up that said "Your project is too large for the selected media. Do you want to continue anyway?" I chose to continue and the DVD burned perfectly. It was a 2 minute video and the disc was a blank DVD-R. Is this a program glitch? Thanks again for your help!
Looks like you found an X-file! The program does a "guestament" of the video file size, but normally it is only a bit out when your project is quite large. I have never heard of it getting small files wrong. Just ignore it. If you were working with much larger projects, then you need to treat these messages more seriously. I actually have another tutorial for this situation, which you can read here if ever needed. www.moviestudiozen.com/free-tutorials/dvd-architect-studio-50/493-how-to-compress-a-long-video-onto-a-dvd
1st thanks in general. Your videos and articles have instrumental in my switching from Adobe to Vegas. I have been trying to create blue rays and run into two problems. 1, I cannot fast forward, 2 the blue ray freezes at some point. On my most recent try it was about on hour into the video. I am using Vegas Platinum 11 on a 32 bit work station. Plan to upgrade soon just waiting for windows ten to settle in. I am using an external burner made by memorx. Not sure of the disk brand.
Hi there, I had a question regarding the timebar's cursor (of sorts?), the progressing line on the timebar which shows you where on the timebar your current frame is. By default if you pause the footage with spacebar it will revert the cursor back to wherever it started, is there a way of turning that off do you know?
Nice video thanks I have Platinum 13, i need to create a VOB file then burn from this ie many DVD copy's, have tried using save to DVD MPEG 2 etc but for the life of me i can't work this one out ? saves to avi no sound, can't seem to find any other way apart from burning direct to DVD. So i render to AVCHD then go to AVS4YOU video converter, convert to DVD, this creates a VOB file i then use this to Burn to DVD via AVS burner Thanks Mike
I have been working on a video for months.. I kind of jumped into making it so I didn't follow anything you said to do to start off with before making it so I hope there is a way to convert still. it is about 50 mins long. I used to use the plain old Windows live movie maker to make videos and burn discs off using that fairly easily. I am now using the movie studio platinum 12, I finished my movie and now i want to burn it to a dvd but I can't? I want to convert it to wmv file how do I do So?
Hi I'm trying to burn a video just like this for my dad for Christmas but when I do this method when I click "make movie" it doesn't give me the "burn to cd" option. How else could I burn it or fix that setting?
In this tutorial, I didn't say anything about "burning to a CD" ? The option is Make Movie/Burn it to DVD or Blu-ray disc I suggest you read the tutorial on my website and follow the instructions and screen shots there. www.moviestudiozen.com/free-tutorials/sony-movie-studio-platinum/527-how-to-burn-dvd-bluray-sony-movie-studio-platinum
It sounds like you have "render loop region only" turned ON. Read this for how to fix: www.moviestudiozen.com/doctor-zen-faq/102-why-is-only-a-small-part-of-my-video-rendering
White Kita I agree, Vegas Studio makes it incredible unnecessary complicated, even you have to use 2 separate programs. I can’t understand why no one at Magix try to easy this process...

Aha, I also had one more question if you know the answer. Is it possible to copy FX from one clip to another on MS 13?
Ah ok, that's how I have been doing it I was just wondering if there was a way to copy and paste multiple to another piece.
Nice video thanks

OMG that's so complicated....isn't there a faster easier way? like just get the video on the line and burn it?
