Switched-on-Bach was the very first CD i bought! (In 1983 at the age of 15). I was already conversant in Kraftwerkish (on vinyl) and deep down the rabbit hole with Tangerine Dream (and Edgar Froese’s solo work). I got my first musical kiss by Beatles. So I guess its fair to say that the Moog Modular synth was part of my early aesthetic education, and I have a deep and abiding love for it. Very happy that you got your hands on this one, and I’m positive that you will be a a wonderful addition to the Moog Modular egregore! 🙏❤️🙏
I would like to see you stack that up against the 2600, Mr. Marinelli. If given first preference, the 2600 would be the modular I would choose over the Moog. How come? The 2600 is halfway between being a modular synthesizer and a performance synthesizer. You can work the front panel all by itself the same way you can work the mini Moog, and you don’t need patch cords. At your own leisure, you can add the patch cords and better understand what a magical synthesizer is supposed to do. That functionality has long primaries, almost longer than progressive rock music has frightened me.
Wendy Carlos is such a huge inspiration!
We need to hear
Wendy Carlos, formerly Walter Carlos, performed the soundtrack to 'A Clockwork Orange'.
So you were driving in Burbank and saw this synthesizer in a driveway, like Jesus in the manger? Clearly it was fated for you haha!

Come along, Come along, ELP!
I used to hang out with Bob Moog from time to time... he was such a wonderful man! Glad this one got saved!
