However, if he had not died, there would have been not much motivation for Luffy to get stronger. Roger's blood runs within Ace after all, even if he denies it. That's why Whitebeard took him in, he could see the potential within Ace.

I just remembered that it was stated that Conqurer's Haki only gets stronger as the user becomes stronger physically. I guess the opposite is also true and physically weakening factors such as illness and old age can make it less potent, as Garp implied with his later complaint about the damage not being destructive enough to his liking.
Rayleigh said Conquerors Haki can't be trained. It depends solely on your willpower and only blooms when in combat. Garp has probably not had a real fight in years so his haki diminished

Kaido was still young, Big Mom is not physically strong enough to fight Roger or Garp. And Remember Whitebeard only became the strongest Pirate in the world after Roger died so he was weaker than Roger and Garp was the only one that could go toe to toe against Roger they both didn't had any devil fruit powers just Godly strength and Haki.

The way Garp fight is a mastered version of Elizabelo 2. Galaxy impact is a better verison of King Punch.
Tho, King Punch is just pure strength while Galaxy Impact is a mix of strength and two types of haki
Does anyone think Garps punch here left the immediate area drenched in radiation? I mean you can't cause that kind of devastating chain reaction without nuclear fission, so one could argue that Garp's punch is splitting atoms and it's spewing out tones of radiation. The epicenter of Garps attack looks like a ball of plasma you would see from an atomic detonation, the animators really captured that utter destruction those weapons can cause.

Fire, shockwaves, wind on such a large area... My only complaint is it didn't cause any actual damage to any significant pirate there...quite dumb.

From this scene, I think every person with Haoshoku has their own Haoshoku special traits. Like Luffy who can emit fire and Garp who can transfer a big amount of energy to a huge area.
that's a good theory actually, but what bout sanji's case ? I think following you and other comments, sanji is creating fire using haki ( not neccesarly conqueror for his case ) and like rayleigh said, he ascended it by fighting stronger foes, so he got blue fires, but, it can be a possibility where sanji actually is using conqueror, or he is using an advanced arnament boosted by his genetics, so like a haki power up just like zoro did.
@@zorr5018 Sanji's fire should come from his genetic modification. Judge was working with Vegapunk before establishing the new Germa Kingdom, and he got a modified DNA. The DNA itself is unknown. Maybe its Lunarian, or might be MADS failed Lunarian experimental DNA, but Judge must modified it to the lesser version just to make it success.
Haki in general, not just the conqueror type. Just like Sanji, king in fact lunarians use their Haki to produce flames, the minks use their Haki to produce electricity, the fishmen use their Haki to produce water etc.

Thatwould result in lesser impact isn't. That is why Nukes are detonated right above their targets for the maximum damage. If Garp, prime or not, punched the ground, the ground will absorb most of those damage.

Points to Coby for sticking that landing after Garp drops a tactical nuke.
Honestly the manga did it much better. Love the animation, but this episode suffers from classic one piece pacing unlike the shanks v kidd episode which was paced super well. They just had to split one episode's worth of content into 2 episodes which dragged things on so much (koby's escape, sword introduction, and galaxy impact were all in chapter).
My main issue though is with how long galaxy impact took. Literally one second Garp is jumping off the ship, the next panel he's blasted the whole town.
The manga doesn't have time to depict wind ups to attacks even if Oda wanted to. The manga has constraints the anime doesn't so there will always be added time in scenes that seem instant in the manga. If the anime was manga paced (attack wise) the fights would be too quick.

I liked the sequence lasting but i felt like thid scene could use a little less particles and an extra cut thst's a 1 to 1 with the manga panel since it does a good job of showing the scale imo@@RikhoOrariri
