Great video😊 Thank you so much! Off topic question :How do I manage a 20+kg luggage up - down the 'slopes' of Fira & Oia if I were to stay for 2 nights each😅? Any suggestions of best place/s to stay with a rented car?🙏
Thanks :) . Very good question. You have two possibilities -1- book any hotel you want however make sure they carry the bag for you. They usually do it when you check-in. I was last time in Imerovigli and I met the concierge/hotel manager at the nearby parking spot. He carried my bag, no worries. the only issue is that they don't usually do that on check out, so make sure to add that as a request in the comment section of the messages to send to the hotel -2- you book a hotel with a direct parking spot. Usually, they are more expensive because having parking and a view is a huge bonus. Have a look at these hotels below where they usually take the luggage for you THIRA www.booking.com/hotel/gr/aria-suites.en-gb.html?aid=910579&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=YT www.booking.com/hotel/gr/limestone.en-gb.html?aid=910579&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=YT or (no view but nearby street parking) www.booking.com/hotel/gr/hill-suites.en-gb.html?aid=910579&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=YT OIA www.booking.com/hotel/gr/nano-oia-canaves.en-gb.html?aid=910579&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=YT www.booking.com/hotel/gr/thirea-suites.en-gb.html?aid=910579&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=YT or easy/free parking on site www.booking.com/hotel/gr/sunday-suites.en-gb.html?aid=910579&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=YT Enjoy your trip
Thanks for this video, very informative, I was debating whether to rent a car or not, we are staying in Imerovigli for 4 nights/3.5 days, 3 of us, I thought I could probably manage for me and companions to take buses all that time, but considering we have to get a private or even if shared transfer for 3 which is 33 euros from port to Imerovigli, and a day rental is 50euros might as well rent a car for 2 days, and we could go to Kamari, and even that lookout highest point you mentioned, didnt even know about that, i wouldnt have minded taking the bus, but kind of anxious as it is the last week of August which is still a busy time and we may have a problem, just don’t want to have to deal with that kind of stress.
I stayed in Imerovigli first week of September and I had a great time 😁 Santorini is a relatively small island but the bus system is a bit of a hit and miss. It works well if you are in Fira (the bus hub), otherwise it is not the best. Having the car opens up so many possibilities. The viewpoint is actually quite incredible, amazing 360 degrees view. Enjoy your trip!!
Typically, you need a credit card. In saying that, there are a few rentals that accept debit cards, although with a much larger deposit. I wrote on the same subject for a different country, Costa Rica, ma the basics are exactly the same. Have a look. Can we rent a Car with a Debit card or does it have to be a Credit card?
