- Today I attempt to show how to degree a camshaft on a vw aircooled engine. We demonstrate how to compare valve opening and closing events as well as total lift at the cam with what is specified on the cam card. The .050-.050 method of checking is used.
Thanks for that explanation
Can you achieve same measuring with rocker arm geometry
You still don't have that engine together I am building a 2180 right now Start working on in this morning And I am are ready about to be done got the long block done
nice work
wow, aircoole anything just did this a day or so ago
and yea, not many videos about this around

Thanks. Good information.
Look more like 62 degrees hen I stop the video . Think you need to advance 2 degrees on the cam.
Thanks. In hindsight I really should have rigged up a pointer!
Great video thanks for taking the time to make it :)
Thanks for making the video. You're right about, not many folks make a video on vw air-cooled camshaft degreeing.
Brilliant. Thanks.
A bit less "amateurish" than my skills! Thanks for this great vid. It sure helps me dial in this cam of mine. I've never done this before. All of my previous engines have been stock and light refreshes.
Hola,en caso de que no sea correcta la medida como se correge?
Great video! Very helpful as I happen to be at a perfect time to check this on my rebuild.
Thank you!
what size are your IN valves
45mm intakes with 37.5mm exhaust
@@vwsandvettes3253 gas flow through the IN valve has very little measurable increase beyond 0.25 valve lift ! are you running a counter weighted crank ? exactly what is the engine for ?
