I love the tree at 4:23! I also appreciate your choice of camera, the Pentax 645 is one of my favorites. Usually when I shoot in cloudy weather I turn to black and white film as I think that captures the moment better than color film. I would really like to hear more about your Praktica FX, sound like an interesting topic! All the best for 2025!
Thank you for your nice comment. Yeah the Pentax 645 is an aweasome camera and every time I shoot with it I am amazed how great it is. Yes BW film is a great choice for bad weather. The Practika FX video is already in the making but I want to make sure to cover it the best I can since it is a „special“ camera All the best for you too :)
I was laughed at in Germany back in 1977-1980 for shooting when the weather was "bad." I used a Canon F-1 and a Mamiya 645. The weather did not bother me at all. Snow, rain, or shine I would be out shooting something. I also experienced the same attitude when I returned to the US. After a thunderstorm in the Midwest, I would be out shooting. Photography is not just for what some would call a "perfect" day. I had my own darkroom and loved every moment I spent there.
It seems like you have some great discipline when it comes to go shooting even on bad days. That is a skill I still have to get better at. Can your work be seen anywhere? It seems like it is some great inspiration.
What is your go to project for bad weather?
