Thank you for watching this through to the end and for reading all the credits showing how Taylor made this video with the help of ARMY. She is a professional editor working for Orig Entertainment (channel is Orig Explores) and is in the process of inducting all her colleagues (and her boss) into ARMY.
You asked about Big Hit/Hybe transition. When BTS were formed Big Hit had only one other artist, a well known Soloist, but still only one man. BTS absolutely DID grow Big Hit along with BSH and the staff. That is why, when they launched Hybe, they were given hefty chunks in shares. BSH didn't need to give them shares,, but he knew what they had contributed
You say that the way BSH treated the band when they were starting out is "the way to do it". Well of course I agree, but trust me - that did NOT happen in Kpop at the time, and hardly happens at all even now. Trainees were incredibly regimented and controlled (most of them still are). They were also NOT encouraged to actually MAKE music - though some did, and do. Usually they were simply given music and told what to do. It's easy to be dismissive of that and of the young people in that position, but they were all incredibly skilled, talented and hard working.
BUT, while BTS themselves question "Why us?" ... I think it is them because they wrote from their hearts and the artistry was based on their vision and their efforts. We can recognise their genuine stories and the depth of their lyrics, message and emotions.
BSH says he thinks he was greedy in those early days, but he saw the determination in their eyes and pushed them perhaps too much. It was only much later that he realised that what he saw was desperation. They were full of fear.
The 'members who are most under-rated' actually includes RM - but no one IN BTS OR BH under-rate these rappers. From debut and before, RM was absolutely crucified on t'internet (for his writing, his rap?, his dancing and his looks - and for not meeting idol standards) and J-Hope was also criticised (for his ?looks - like a horse? - and there was a twitter campaign "Kick out JHope" calling him ugly and untalented?!). All BTS members have had personal attacks, including death threats which have resulted in the cancellation of live concerts. For more information xCaleste has a video BTS' hardships.
Initially BTS were planned to be a Hip hop group but fairly early on it changed though the rap and hip hop elements remain strong. I believe it is the combination of awesome vocalists and powerful rap that make BTS so special.
While BTS are indeed loving brothers, and Jin doesn't demand 'respect' just because of his age, there is no 'of course not' to this. It is not always the case with hyungs in other groups. And we heard that some other Kpop groups can barely stand each other which is very sad. Younger members may be bullied and mistreated by their elders.
BTS however really do treat each other like family (perhaps because of the adversities they had to face) and in fact their families treat each other as family too. JK joined the dorm at 13 years old and they literally did bring him up - Jin used to take him to his house at the weekends when JK was missing his home. JK was 15 at debut and his home is at the other end of Korea.
BTS have lived their lives in front of cameras - dishonesty and prevarication are not options - they have no opportunities to hide. And they are dedicated to being better - that starts off with basic honesty.
V is not really acknowledged as an actor but is actually very good. When he was doing Hwarang he was juggling the filming with an international tour with BTS. They would return from a shows for a couple of days' break and V would go straight to film Hwarang and continue filming - joining the rest on the tour when he got back, or going from a day's filming straight into the practice studio with no break. He told us all (in In the Soop Friendcation with his Wooga pals) that he could never work out what his part/ mood/ emotion was in a scene and confessed this to Park Seo Joon, who then took him through the paces before each shooting and helped him to do so well. That's simply how PSJ is, I think (he's a phenomenal actor and never seems to put a foot wrong) but I think this, and the way all the other actors supported V and each other, all contributed to the fantastic friendships that came out of Hwarang.
Jin had the shortest training period - not much over 6 months - and had never sung before, so it took him a long time to build confidence even after debut. Jin had to learn how to dance AND sing in training, and of course JHope had never rapped. Amazing.
I had never seen the clip of RM quantifying BTS' debt to ARMY but it came as no surprise. They ALWAYS credit ARMY and describe how in fact it is ONLY the support of ARMY which got them through those early years when the whole industry and (it seemed) the internet as well were against them. All of that is one reason why ARMY can be so defensive of BTS now. Sometimes that goes too far, but BTS and ARMY (BOTH) had to deal with so much disrespect in the early days, but actually still today. I know people who were 2013 and earlier ARMY and there were times they were physically threatened by rival fan groups. They were genuinely scared. Not having any of that NOW! 😂😂
Glad you liked this information - there is actually a wealth of information, performances and so uch more available on t'net. Enjoy!

You were asking about the rap line signing on with Big Hit first before the vocalists. Originally, BTS was supposed to be a Hip Hop group. But when the Bang PD decided to make them an idol group, several rappers left (this was pre-debut). And the company started to recruit singers.
So the group was built around RM. The other rappers had signed on thinking they were going to be rapping-- not singing or dancing. They were all trainees at the time and Hobie had a hard time since he had to learn rap from scratch.

  • @janetuss6496
    @janetuss6496 11 місяців тому +13

Great reaction, thanks for watching! BTS was built around RM. And yes you're right, the rappers are the more underrated members. The vocalists have more solo fans who only support one member and ignore the rest. Also probably because the rappers make less mainstream music so they get less attention I suppose, rap/hip-hop is a less popular genre than say pop music or ballads. But the rappers' music is important to break people's misconception that BTS only does pop or mainstream music. Also the rappers do the most songwriting and producing, without them BTS would not have the artistic respect they get for making their own songs.
The 3 rappers did several rap songs together -
    - Outro: Tear
    - Ddaeng
    - Ugh
    - Cyphers #1 - #4
For Outro Tear, the Wembley live performance is the one to watch, the one uploaded by the channel cutiemulletV has English subtitles.
For Ddaeng and Ugh, their lyricism is so deep and has so many cultural references that it's necessary to watch the explanation vids by DKDKTV to understand them.
For their Cyphers, the Cyphers Medley live performance uploaded by the channel Enjoy BTS More is the one to watch after you listen to all 4 cyphers fully first.

Helpful hint for the guide: Not sure if you know.... Korean people count age differently to others...
Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most videos, including the guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust.
The members were only 13-18 years old when they became trainees and 15-20 yo when they debuted.
In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on 01 Jan every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. ....
Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13 (Year and age became trainee)
    Jin 1992 - 20 yo (2011 - 18yo)
    Suga 1993- 20 yo (2011 - 17yo) Suga started with MIDI at 11
    JHope 1994 - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo)JHope started dancing at 8
RM 1994 - 18 yo (2010 - 15yo) RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13
    Jimin 1995 - 17 yo (2012 - 16yo)
    V 1995 - 17 yo (2011 - 15yo)
JK 1997 - 15 yo (2011 - 13yo) JK left home at 13 to move into the dorm with BTS
Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age.
    EG: TaeHyung (V) born 30 Dec 1995 ...... current International Age 27 (Korean Age 29). ... 2 years difference
So Tae born 30 Dec 95 is 1 year old, then on 01 Jan 96 he is 1 more year older (so they would say he is 2 years old, when we would say he is 2 days old.)
So he was considered 29 in Korea since 01 January, we would say he is 27 turning 28 in Dec.
It's a different way of looking at age, from new years day - Tae is living his 29th year (since conception) - instead of - he turned 27 (since birth)....
The Korean Government has recently brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, will be referencing Korean age.
    💜Have a great day

Remember, though, we're unsure of Kook's age, since many studied "at home" (wherever "home" was for them) before *officially* becoming a trainee (moving to Seoul). Hobi studied dance more at home before coming to Seoul, but we're unsure if Jungkook did the same or if he came to Seoul "right away".
As for joining BTS though, remember, Kook came to the dorm in November of 2011, so his 14th b-day had already passed just 2 months prior. A very "young" 14, but definitely 14 upon entering that fateful dorm.

Big Hit became HYBE. Because Bang PD wanted to be more involved in the producing and songwriting his stepped down as the CEO but is the chairman of HYBE. Yes, Big Hit HYBE is what it is because of BTS. Under Big Hit there are only 1 soloist , BTS and TXT. Under the umbrella of HYBE corporation there are multiple label agencies. Just this year HYBE has purchased 2 American hip hop labels and soon they will be acquiring the biggest Latin label. There are 2 headquarters, one in Korea and one in America. BTS made almost bankrupt label into a multi billion dollar music corporation. bTS has been contributing between 3-4 billion dollars every year for the last 4-5 years to the Korean economy. They alone increased 25% into the tourism in Korea. That is the power of BTS! 💜

If you watch BTS Run (not the song, the variety show) you will see how they developed their ability to talk openly about things. In different episodes they have to speak candidly about stuff. They also write letters to each other and to ARMY. In their festa dinners they also write letters and speak about each other. (Though, I must admit that my fav one was in 2014 where they wrote complaints about other members. So genuine.)

So in kpop their are 3 most biggest kpop company's which is called "The Big 3" (YG, JYP and SM) but when bts got famous and become most famous kpop group in the world they finally add Bighit and change to "The Big 4"
So in kpop world they have only 7 years contract but it depends if they want to sign again, "The 7 curse" is a kpop urban legend and believe, it because many kpop groups disband in their 7 years contact. But bts stay in 10 years and sign a contract again to stay as a group another 10 years so bts will stay until year 2030

Correction* Jin wasn't already in the group or in the company at all
Although he was approached randomly by a BigHit executive solely for his looks, he still auditioned for the company
In k-pop groups, there's a separate role of a VISUAL, it's basically a face of the group or someone that is goodlooking but in a captivating way. It isn't necessary to have only ONE visual, theren are a lot of groups that have 2 or more visuals.
Having a visual doesn't mean that the others aren't good looking or any of that sort, is just that k-pop groups often have storylines and concepts which are displayed through their MVs, so these VISUALs often play and important role alongside others.
I hope this makes sense and helped you understand the term on a broader scale😅
    Other than that
    *YOU NICE, KEEP GOING* 💯

I'd LOVE to see Run BTS episodes!
They are usually HILARIOUS, but that depends on YOUR sense of humor, so - of course - there most likely will be some that are funnier to you than others.
Most of the eps. are "stand-alone", but there are a few that are 2 or 3-part episodes. For example: "Summer Outing" is eps. 83, 84, and 85 - some of MY all-time favorite episodes because of what they do. The only..."hint"?...I will give is that I love those 3 because I'm part fish. Pretty much any time they're in/around water are my favs., but the rest of the water ones are single episodes/no "to be continued" at the end of them.
Also, VLive (an app that was created for them) is no longer in existence, but the very first episode of the show is basically them talking about the "new" VLive app, and introducing themselves so it's not a particularly *needed* episode to watch, but at the same time, if you're going to watch, I think it is better to watch in order. It's just less confusing that way.
The first few episodes are under 15 minutes, depending on your time, you could probably do the first 2-4 (maybe even 5?) in one video, but by the time Jin went into the military, the last few were almost hour-long episodes.
Do note that the production spending limit increased with each passing episode...and it shows. LOL Basically, along with the challenges and such, they also get to do a LOT of things they didn't get to as young teens/early 20-somethings because they were so focused on debuting. They did lose - trade? - a bit of their "childhood" (well, teen/early 20 years) for the group, so quite a few of the eps were a way for them to get to do things they probably still wouldn't have done to this day if not for the show.

RM as leader emotionally open, affectionate, supportive leadership affected the developement of all the group. Sugas honesty hard working creativity also. V had smaller but memorable role.
