I would recommend option C, and I highly recommend trading for David Pastrnak. Kids a stud and would looks really good on mackinnons wing in the future. You may be able to package landeskog and Johnson and send them out to Boston for Pasta and one of their stud D prospects (Carlo, Zboril etc) you would probably have to eat up a contract in return but you are able to do that in your case. If you don't want Pasta as your first line winger he can still play 2nd line with guys like Jost and Grigorenko. Future top D pair of Carlo and Meloche looks very enticing. LIKE SO JOHNNY SEES
i like the full Rebuild 1) you kinda already did option a with toronto, so it would be repetitive 2) it would give you more videos for this series 3) it would make the drafting much more important than if you went with the other options
thatrandomvideoguy98 I disagree, Toronto is a team that a general manager just has to wait or the players to develop and watch success come, Johnny moved some players from the current leafs roster and it was for young kids who were ready to play immediately, I don't think he actually picked up any prospects in trades that he planned on using for top spots.
+Iron Seguin so it was more option c than a... either way, he still did one of the options. option B is still the best one to do in my personal opinion
+nico bonavita and? are you saying you have no faith in Johnny's drafting abilities? this is my opinion. I think it'd be 10x more interesting to do the full rebuild because it has felt like forever since there's been a full on rebuild gm. I think it'd not only make the drafting much more important than his previous gm mode since he ALREADY HAD THE PIECES IN TORONTO. plus, I'd like this one to last a bit longer than the Toronto gm.
+nico bonavita you didn't say that, it just sounded like it did. either way, i hope the series is an enjoyable one, that's doesn't feel like a copy of the Toronto series he did. i also look forward to future episodes :D
Thank you so much for coming to Colorado to help return the Avs to their former glory, and to save them from their current GM, Joe Sakic. I like the accelerated rebuild, but with the caveat that you need to win a cup before unloading Matt Duchene. The Avs mean too much to him and he means too much to the fans. As a huge fan of the Colorado Avalanche, It's too painful to imagine him not being able to hoist the cup with the team that inspired him to play hockey in the fist place.
One thing I actually *miss* from NHL 16 is the fact that prospects' potential would change from year to year. With this game, you might as well get rid of every single pick that's not in the first, because nobody else will ever be worth anything.
Peter T Totally agree. Last year I had like 7th rounders become franchise potential and become 95 or higher. Was crazy. I still play 16 sometimes just for the GM mode
I did Colorado Johnny. I won 3 cups. I didn't trade Duchene, Mack, or anyone in that plan A of yours. Grigorenko got to 89 for me, and rantanen will get to 90+. Landy I kept too but he never produced that well. But I switched him to a sniper and he did way better playing with Mack. I didn't trade Varly until like year 8 or 9. Run with the core, and build around those guys. I'd say switch Landy to a sniper and just build around these guys. They will come through! Like so Johnny sees plz
In real life, they seem to be going with Option C, but Rantanen is included I say you go with option A. Honestly, this core is too good to trade away. The problem is the depth surrounding the core, and that's when you need to come in and fix things. Landeskog, Duchene, and MacKinnon can be your top line talent for years to come, along with Rantanen, and Barrie and Johnson will be rocks on the blueline for years to come as well. Varlamov and Pickard isn't a horrible tandem in net as well. I believe if you do your best to surround this core with talent, than it can be a winning core.
Williamtheconqueror not entirely. believable scenario = flyers may do awful in the first season, and then to really shake things up and give Giroux some help they go out and acquire a stud forward (Duchene or Landeskog). they are ok giving up Provorov because they are getting a stud forward, AND they have two very good D prospects (Sanheim and Morin) knocking on the NHL door that already has Gostisbehere on the other side. Provorov is believable
TickTak77 no it isn't flyers need nhl ready defenceman despite them having some great prospects on D there forward core is currently more complete. Zero chance Philly moves provorov over players like Morin, Hagg, and Sanheim
Johnny, one thing i just don't understand with what you are planning to do is that you have given up on the team before you even started simulating. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to win games. No, this team is not a contender for the cup, but all of the core players that make up the team except maybe Varlamov and Johnson are 25 years old of younger. If this team starts to win games, why is that a bad thing? Once the younger players like Rantanen and Jost make their jumps in like a year or two, your top 6 is a free agent signing away from being solidified for years to come. What this team really lacks is depth in the bottom 6, and on defense. That is the difference in my opinion. Now, if the team starts losing big? sure, then you trade away Landy maybe for a pick, or even a (future) top 2 dman like Fowler/Lindholm and maybe a 2nd and a 3rd. However, I see no sense in trading aay Matt Duchene because he is exactly what someone like Nolan Patrick or Nico Hischer will turn into. In like 2 years i could see this team looking something like this (? = possible FA signing/trade/draft pick)... Aho/? - Mak - Rantanen Aho/? - Duchene - Grigorenko/Jost ? - Jost/? - Grigorenko/? Colborne - ? - ? Barrie - Lindholm/Fowler Zadorov - Johnson/? Gelenas - ? Pickard Lack/? The Team needs depth and time to develop. It's not like the core is aging (Like say Boston or Vancouver) They are all young and just need more players to fill the roles. Like so Johnny sees, and comment your thoughts on this plan.
So in short, trade Landy now or at the draft for either Fowler/Lindholm or the pick to get Liljegren. Keep Mak and Duchene (Mak should be untouchable) Maybe trade Johnson I don't think you should get Hischer or Patrick because they are centers.
Exactly.. I didn't like the trades at all.. I garauntee he won't finish in the bottom 5 once the lottery picks are revealed.. the game likes to fuck you over when you do scumbag shit like johnny did
Wilfred Fizzlebang From a franchise pov you're correct, but if you want to make the gm mode somewhat realistic you should try to win games and if you cannot than near the trade deadline start dealing. If in irl teams had your mindset the nhl would have 10 to 15 shit teams for 2 or 3 years AT LEAST and the rest of the teams would attempt to win a cup. For those areas with shit teams, fans would have to deal with watching a shit on ice product for multiple seasons. That would obviously suck.
+bobashaw smith Why do teams not do this in real life? Because the owners want to make money, not win stanley cups. I am positive that most owners could not care if the team has 50 or 30 wins as long as they make a profit. Hence, as a really life GM Superbman would only care about the cups, he should have the poise to take 2-3 50 game losing seasons.
That moment... 2 years later they kept the team and built through the prospects.... then also traded Duchenne for the best possible outcome of an Ottawa first rounder.... Option A worked in real life... time to see how you did! :) (New to the channel, love it so far)
I'm completely down with keeping McKinnon and trading everything and anything else. Players I'd like to see on the Avalanche in the future: Johnathon Drouin Anthony Mantha Tyler Bertuzzi Someone like Nylander from the Leafs franchise Jesse Puljjivari/Draisaitl from Edmonton Would be nice to have other known names on the team like with the Leafs.
Thank you for picking up the Avs! I am also for C! Just watched again your first video with rosters updates so I can help with trades. - trade Johnson, hes "old" and has a high salary. For the same reason, trade Duchene. - go for Drouin, hes BigMac buddy - include Iginla in that trade so he has his last chance for a cup. - try to bring Hamonic or Leddy from Islandres. - dont trade Barrie, right handed two-way defensmen you dont want to let go. - Max Jones from ANA is med top6 19y and they wanna trade him - Athanasiu is not playing for Detroit (only 1GP), if hes not injured, try to get him for 3/4 center! - Sproul from DET is good right handed offensive defensmen for third lane - Pickard is not going to be next Price, you need a second good goalie - hopefuly Bishop, Denver native, is going to be free agent in summer - Siemens is not going to be a good player, he has low 6 potential with 23y of age and 75 rating - try to bring Cal Foote in draft to Colorado - legacy! Also bring: - Domi top 6 ARZ - Murray top 4 CLB - Haula top 9 MIN - Paquette top 9 TBL - Nieto top 9 SJS TRADES: - Drouin, Paquette and 1./2. pick for Landeskog, Iginla (before trade deadline) - Leddy or Hamonic and 1. pick for Duchene (on draft) - Murray and 2. pick for Johnson - Athanasiu, Sproul for Meloche and Wiercoch - Max Jones for Gelinas and Beauch (if he doesnt retire) - Haula for Colborne and Comeau - Nieto for Siemens and lower draft pick Lineup: Drouin - MacKinnon - Rantanen Aho - Jost - Compher Jones - Haula - Grigorenko Paquette - Athanasiu - Nieto Leddy / Hamonic - Barrie Zadorov - Murray Bigras - Sproul Sign second goalie on the free market (Bishop if hes available). Go full attack with this team.
I say go with option C because you need a team around Nathan and the team right now that you have needs a rebuild. The defensive core is decent but you have to require young and future defense men
Option C and try to get Drouin to play on the left of Mackinnon that would be great...Tampa is really looking for a defenceman so it could be realistic if you find the right player (Tyson Barrie, Erik Johnson)
I actually just started a Colorado GM Mode a few days ago and basically went with Option C and traded everyone except for MacKinnon and Johnson. This is the squad going into Year 4: Mittelstadt (82) - MacKinnon (90) - Schenn (88) Jost (84) - Patrick (91) - Grigorenko (85) Rantanen (83) - Zacha (85) - Compher (83) Beleskey (82) - Hanzal (85) - Komarov (84) Smith (81), Armia (81) Provorov (84) - Carlson (90) Gardiner (85) - Johnson (87) Moore (83) - Bigras (82) Wideman (81) Murray (90) Vehvilainen (84) Carlson and Hanzal were both UFA signings, felt Carlson was the perfect player to help insulate the defensive core and mentor along Provorov going into Year 3, and Hanzal was a good signing as a strong 3rd/4th line center
I was doing a Canucks GM and I picked up Aho and Rantanen at the beginning like you. They didn't grow but Rantanen as an 82 on the 3rd line was have 20+ goal seasons.
Justin Hall Aho and teuvo are killing it this year just like Pesce and Slavin! Funny how our development for these young players has gotten so much better once GMJR left and a competent GM in RF took over!
di3s3l44 he also left the canes in shambles after screwing us by drafting lindholm right before Sean Monahan! TBH, is it that difficult to look good on the pens? U literally build around Malkin, Crosby, Letang, and now Murray! I will say the Kessel and Schultz trades look nice for him though! Daley has the worst corsi on the team this year though
Johnny you should Move Duchene for say a Larkin and and maybe a 2nd rounder, Barrie to VAN or NYR for their 1st rounder I think Landeskog should stay on the wing with MacKinnon as they are showing good chemistry so far! But strip Landerskog of the C after the draft and run a 3 'A' system until you see who really steps up in year 2 or 3. just my thought Keep up the great work 2BC!
Go with plan C. I would trade Duchene, and Landeskog. Jost will replace Duchene as 2C. Look to get a 1st rounder, good potential/NHL ready winger, and a solid defensive prospect in return at least. (Possible Targets) Jeff Skinner Matt Tkachuk Jonathan Huberdeau Johnathan Drouin ;) Nikolaj Ehlers Check out getting a 1st and a D prospect from Philly and their deep prospect pool.
The feeling when you finish your work on frday and rush back home to watch this episode and open a beer. ps. Rantanen will develope well, don't worry about him. Korpisalo from Columbus could be your future franchise goalie
go with option C. I've been playing GM mode with Carolina . I made a "accelerated rebuild" around Jeff Skinner. I put him next to Filip Foresberg. I kept Sebastian Aho, Jacob Slavin and Victor Rask. I got Matt O'Connor from Ottawa, grew him to a 86 Overall goalie.
i'm swiss so i'd love to to see hischier on your team (pronounced heesh-yeh. you're welcome, we don't need another namestenententnikhov or kokolachachetchev :D) p.s. FINALLY more gm mode, it's been too long, man
OPTION C I feel like Erik Johnson has a ton of trade value, Johnny. 1st overall pick in 2006 He's 28 years old, which is relatively young for a shutdown defenseman. Instead of a second round pick, he's worth a first. Tyson Barrie is also worth waayyy more than a second round pick.
you wouldn't move a team that's only been there for 21 years and who already has 2 Stanley Cups. the Avs are doing what Johnny is doing but he's doing it better!
I think you made the Canucks too bad. In real life 44 games in they have 45 points. In the game around 60 games in they have 49 points. They are one point out of a wild card spot so they should have a somewhat decent roster.
Two Trade Ideas that you (johnny) has to atleast analyse and look over. A strong argument can be made for both of these trades being fait and they ensure you get a Sniper who usually grows to the low 90:s to play with Mackinnon plus you get a chance to have an elite D-man. Here are the trades that I've tried making realistic. 1. Drouin + cap dump for Barrie + . Barrie is Elite and will maybe jump up at the end of next year. Drouin (if he is a sniper) just makes sense given the fact that Stamkos is resigned. Tampa is also prioritising the proven Kucherov and their forward core is stacked already, with up and coming contract signings plus Brayden Point and Adam Erne getting better. 2. Duchene for Parayko + cap dump. Gives the Blues a top line center to play with Tarasenko as they already have two RD. The second trade should be executed as soon as possible. De first you should wait until the end of the season/draft so that Barrie helps the growth of the other assets. Keep an eye on Drouin anyway to make sure he doesn't grow out of control. Kucherov and Forsberg are unrealistic trades. These two should ensure that you draft late and get an elite prospect. Otherwise, send pickard down and use some shit goalie you have lying around.
just do the XTECH method. make unrealistic trades "all at once" like 15 trades in 1 day. grab draft picks and trade 1st 3rds and a 4ths for players like RNH, yakupov, rick nash and sign players like justin williams in free agency for 6 years 7 mill. etc
also, when you sim and lose in game 6 or 7 just restart the Xbox and "power of video editing" and sim till you win the cup. and only scout in the WHL and at the draft try to make a unreaslistic trade by trading up from 10th overal for 1st overal by trading players u signed in free agency
Nolan would definitely be a great guy to draft. For me he usually simulates pretty well especially for being a rookie i usually start on the fourth line
agree with option C. Do what you can to get likely top 10 picks in next 3 drafts. you can also mine teams stacked with emerging prospects like Columbus, LA, Chicago and Anaheim starting in year 2
What does he do with a team? He's still a shit leader, dude is a fucking moron. Shane Doan has no team around him and yet he is one of the best and most respected captains in the league.
JLPr you're the type that values leadership over actual skill. shane doan is by far one of the most less skilled captain's in the league. funny that you think hes "one of the best" like hes anywhere even close to sid. keep up the stupid comments though bud.
Honestly I love the fact you finally chose the aves and our my favorite team and if you need help with anything Colorado aves ask me I have loved this team my entire team
go with option C Johnny, possibly trade for pulujarvi depending on his trade value because Edmonton sure doesn't need him and he is just going to under achieve there. I've seen him simulate well, and he is a sniper so he could play along side McKinnon in a year as an 81-84 could trade possibly landeskog for him and a second and third (depending on how high pulujarvi's trade value is) LIKE SO JOHNNY SEES
Really interested to see where this goes! I like your idea of dropping almost everyone. Duchene is probably one who has to go along with Johnson. Hopefully you can get into that bottom 5, but things look like they are shaping up according to plan so far
Option b-full rebuild. If you do a accelerated build then you wouldn't be as strong and probaly wouldn't win a cup and option a is straight out idiotic in 3-6 years your team won't have anybody cuz the guys you would have to trade for to make yourself a contender in year 1 and 2 would retire. And varlamov wouldn't be getting any younger and retire by year 4-9. A full rebuild may take a few years to develop into a contender but once you get there you'll dominate like you did with Toronto as long as you don't have cap problems. If cap is a problem then option c accelerated rebuild is the way to go but if cap works with you then option b is the only option Like so johnny sees
I saw you sign a free agent goalie who the lower overall rated. That way you make him your started and pickard your backup(he's only listed as backup). Then you tank hard and you get top 5 pick and can trade your other plays for more top 5 picks/prospects. Like if you agree and so johnny can see
I agree with option C, keep MacKinnon, and good on you for giving Landeskog a chance. He could be your JVR for this GM mode. You can get a stud like Kucherov for sure under the right circumstances. But for the love of God, keep Iginla on the top line! Notice MacKinnon and Landeskog's physicality are not five stars. You need a guy who can compete, but not rule the ice, on first line who can protect those guys. Also, split the defence up to help the young guys when the team is playing well. It'll help lose games and develop Gelinas and the other guy.
What I would do(I am a huge Av's fan from Ontario) : OPTION A/C HYBRID Trade everyone except Mackinnon, Pickard and Duchene with the option to hold onto Barrie/Johnson/Landeskog The roster in theory should simulate badly, so your draft target should be Liljgren. If you can get him in the draft, my ideas should set you up real well. You should move out Varlamov like you have already stated and I think the best fit for him would be Carolina (Ward/Lack are both low overall so it makes sense for Varly to be their future) Carolina also has a plethora of young Defenseman which Avs desperately need. Your two targets should be either Faulk or Hanifin. Carolina would have a future of Hanifin or Faulk along with Jake's Bean, Pesce, Murphy as their top guys. You can also grab Lack as your backup for the year as he is serviceable and very low value. That would leave your top 6D of the future being Liljgren, Faulk or Hanifin, Zadorov, Bigras, Meloche, Barrie/Johnson if you keep them or whatever assets you acquire for them. The forwards I would deal off anyone not named Duchene or Mackinnon and prospects. You already have two 1st line centers under 27, most championship teams would kill for that. I can also tell you Landeskog doesn't simulate very well, maybe swap him for another defenseman and trade Barrie or Johnson for a forward to replace Landy. Rantanen should become a top 6 force and Jost should as well, so you basically have 2 centers and 2 wingers set. Grigorenko, Compher should be adequate for your 3rd line and Martisen actually develops into a decent 4th liner. Basically going forward you would be looking for 3 or 4 forwards going forward thru the draft or free agency which is easily attainable. A Young talent to look at would be Nick Ritchie in Anaheim as a 2/3 Winger who does grow (send beauchimen+ for him) This saves you from doing a full rebuild or a tweener stage team and at this point if guys don't develop you should have lots of assets thru the draft. Lots of other good free agents come up as well, believe Oshie usually walks in year one as well as a few in year 2 Like so Johnny sees! #MackAndDutchForCo-Captains
Hey everyone, personally when Johnny has done these types of GM modes I've noticed that he's built teams almost like they're like team with 7 amazing players then shitters around them. Pittsburgh Penguins if you will. I personally wanna see a team like the Lightning built. An all around team that has good players everywhere. For example, in Tampa's case, every player is good (exception for Stamkos). No single player is world class (again except Stamkos). That's just me though. I feel a new type of team built would be nice. Not just a team where all your salary is dumped into 5 players.
YES! Colorado is my favourite team! Super pumped for this GM mode! Please do option C! Don't trade away MacKinnon or Landeskog! Get rid of Iginla, Duchene, Johnson, and Pickard (or keep him as backup)
Possible options Lucic, he's a bit older but scores and is a big strong player. Puljujjaharvi or however it's spelt, he's big skilled and very young. And finally Patrick Maroon, again he's a bit older (28ish) but again big, strong, skilled, and knows how to play with stars (McDavid). All possible options for Mackinnon
Option A is already out for me So no explanation. Option B is probably the best option. I think if you keep some of the key guys (MacKinnon, Duchene, etc) and trade away some of the older players for draft picks, prospects, and maybe veteran depth, you can get the right guys for a chance at the cup. Option C is okay but risky. If you choose to trade away everyone but MacKinnon, you risk other teams not taking what you're giving and you risk players that won't grow properly. I like the idea of trying to get that top 5 pick within the first 2 years, but in the long run, option B might be the best choice here with what you're given.
I would give Noah Juulsen a chance. He grows well from what I have seen (never done the Habs, though). Seen him get up to about a 90-95 overall after three years and potential to win the Art Ross, Hart, and Norris in the same year.
I remember back in NHL 2004 with the overpowered Avs top 6: Tanguay - Sakic - Hejduk Selanne - Forsberg - Kariya Too bad injuries ruined that season for many of those guys, it was a beast roster on paper even with Patrick Roy gone by that time
Johnny has the best upload times... hey, lets upload the most hyped thing on my channel at 12 AM when everyones going to sleep.
DJB11 no one cares though
DJB11 ^
DJB11 I mean you were watching if you commented so.........
12AM is perfect time. I'm usually just laying on the bed watxhing UA-cam at that time anyway lol
4000 views already lol. Dont worry about when he uploads. People will always watch
Go with option C. MacKinnon is a keyplayer for Avs. Also go for Drouin, reunite him with MacKinnon!
Lill Jacke this is a really cool idea
Lill Jacke 👌
As an avalanche fan in Halifax, I fully support this
And on another note. Go tank mode first two years. Try to draft Hischier first year and Dahlin second/third year (can't remember when he's avaible). After first year trade maybe Landeskog for Drouin and Duchene for Sergachev? Later on Mark Stone could be the perfect PWF to play along MacKinnon and Drouin. And try to get Callan Footh for fun.
Callan Foote* ...lol
Put Matt Nieto on the Avalanche. They picked him up on waivers from San Jose. Like so Johnny sees this!
Casey Rauchwarter too late for that champ
The only UA-camr that I know hasn't complained about how UA-cam is broken is you. Love you and Thank you Superbman
You may have to add a 3rd or something little but yea, good idea
I like it
I agree 100%, pasta is a beast, so is carlo
Pasta can play either wing btw
Why would Boston trade two good young players when they're not in a playoff spot
i like the full Rebuild
1) you kinda already did option a with toronto, so it would be repetitive
2) it would give you more videos for this series
3) it would make the drafting much more important than if you went with the other options

Sounds like you guys will be smokin' a ton of weed, you might need a *fuel source* to keep all that weed lit.
Hank Hill !!!
Butane?
Hank Hill Oh no 😅
Boddaaah Get the fuck out of here right now.
Hank Hill Ohh. You mean coal, eh? I'm sorry I was mistaken but how do you smoke ganja with coal?
Thank you so much for coming to Colorado to help return the Avs to their former glory, and to save them from their current GM, Joe Sakic.

Peter T I believe Laine is in the game but he is not like Elite or anything. I think he's top 9 or something. But he's there if you wanna edit him
you mean NHL 16?
Right. Yes, thanks. Edited.

KiNGHDx it's pick-ard
no even the avalanche announcer says pickerd
Is he not a hoe?
I think u should choose option c and draft liljegren he would be perfect for Colorado bc they need defense
Recovery Fx that is what us avs fans hope happens irl
Recovery Fx but in real life mr Sakic doesn't draft D.
Kaleb Kurtz but joe Sakic isn't the gm, Johnny is :)
He only becomes an 84 overall just saying he won't be in the top 2 def
Nick Aced he grew to a low 90 for me...
LET'S GO! Been waiting for a Colorado Avalanche GM mode! Will be here for every episode.
Johnny, Tyson Jost's name is pronounced "JOE-ST" as in ROAST, not JOHST as in LOST.
Like so he can see. Thanks.
TickTak77 along with Chris Bee-grah
Sebastian Uhh-ho
In real life, they seem to be going with Option C, but Rantanen is included
I say you go with option A. I believe if you do your best to surround this core with talent, than it can be a winning core.
do Montreal canidens place
Connor Klomparens agreed! option A all the way
Johnny, give Duchene powerplay time, he is listed as a 1st line center and he will get pissed eventually.
Pick up Provorov from the flyers, solid dman 2-3 years in 90+ and has decently low trade value first year.
Ewokbuns exactly what this man says, I like you
Ewokbuns unrealistic
Varlamov for Aho was already bad enough
FINALLY a colorado GM Mode, I've been waiting for this since NHL 13
Go with option A. You picked Avs for a challenge, here you got it. It's also the most realistic choice.
Finally the abs. My home team I have waited years for this!!! Save us Johnny we need you!
Aho/? - Mak - Rantanen
Aho/? - Duchene - Grigorenko/Jost
? - Jost/? - Grigorenko/?
Colborne - ? - ?
Barrie - Lindholm/Fowler
Zadorov - Johnson/?
Gelenas - ?
Pickard
Lack/?
The Team needs depth and time to develop. It's not like the core is aging (Like say Boston or Vancouver) They are all young and just need more players to fill the roles. Like so Johnny sees, and comment your thoughts on this plan.
So in short, trade Landy now or at the draft for either Fowler/Lindholm or the pick to get Liljegren.
Keep Mak and Duchene (Mak should be untouchable)
Maybe trade Johnson
I don't think you should get Hischer or Patrick because they are centers.
If you are not a contender for a cuo why would you want to win games? Hurts drafting. Makes abolutely no sense to try and win.
Damn it I've waited for the preds for 3 years. 3 YEARS
Tbiblaine23 He hasn't used Carolina yet either :(
Tbiblaine23 dude I've waited since NHL 12 for the avalanche
Tbiblaine23 or the jets calm down dude lol the jets would've been perfect right after Toronto
Deathtake13 gamingtime why?
Tbiblaine23 five years for Colorado bitch
Way to go Johnny! Not even the All Star Break and we've already got a second GM-Mode
I say go with Option C
Nice Profile.
GO SHARKS!
There's no way Carolina would trade Aho. He's already one of their top 3 players 40 games into his NHL career.
I say do a full rebuild
I'm liking the sound of this gm series
IVE NEVER CLICKED A VID SO FAST
i miss when johnny put this much effort into gm mode and didnt spend the whole video complaining about ea
I'm completely down with keeping McKinnon and trading everything and anything else.
Players I'd like to see on the Avalanche in the future:
Johnathon Drouin
Anthony Mantha
Tyler Bertuzzi
Someone like Nylander from the Leafs franchise
Jesse Puljjivari/Draisaitl from Edmonton
Would be nice to have other known names on the team like with the Leafs.
When I used Colorado, Spencer Martin grew to an 89 Medium Starter. It took about 4-5 seasons, but it worked!
Olhaver also grew to an 88 second liner.
YES!!! Fix my Avs! they need it! keep Barrie though. he's the only good d man!
josbg dsfadsf ur so wrong though
josbg dsfadsf Barrie is trash
he's the only one who has decent offensive and defensive awareness on the Avs.
Barrie is good, he just can't be the only one out there. He just needs a good partner who can pull their own weight.
Exactly! someone finally someone else understands
I waited 5 years thank you johnny
Option B. We've seen things like option A and C so many times from you, I'd like to see something new
Thank you for picking up the Avs!
- Max Jones from ANA is med top6 19y and they wanna trade him
- Athanasiu is not playing for Detroit (only 1GP), if hes not injured, try to get him for 3/4 center!
- Sproul from DET is good right handed offensive defensmen for third lane
- Pickard is not going to be next Price, you need a second good goalie - hopefuly Bishop, Denver native, is going to be free agent in summer
- Siemens is not going to be a good player, he has low 6 potential with 23y of age and 75 rating
- try to bring Cal Foote in draft to Colorado - legacy!
Also bring:
- Domi top 6 ARZ
- Murray top 4 CLB
- Haula top 9 MIN
- Paquette top 9 TBL
- Nieto top 9 SJS
TRADES:
- Drouin, Paquette and 1./2. pick for Landeskog, Iginla (before trade deadline)
- Leddy or Hamonic and 1. pick for Duchene (on draft)
- Murray and 2. pick for Johnson
- Athanasiu, Sproul for Meloche and Wiercoch
- Max Jones for Gelinas and Beauch (if he doesnt retire)
- Haula for Colborne and Comeau
- Nieto for Siemens and lower draft pick
Lineup:
Drouin - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Aho - Jost - Compher
Jones - Haula - Grigorenko
Paquette - Athanasiu - Nieto
Leddy / Hamonic - Barrie
Zadorov - Murray
Bigras - Sproul
Sign second goalie on the free market (Bishop if hes available).
Go full attack with this team.
I say go with option C because you need a team around Nathan and the team right now that you have needs a rebuild. The defensive core is decent but you have to require young and future defense men
I have been waiting for the Canucks for the longest time. Literally.
Option C and try to get Drouin to play on the left of Mackinnon that would be great...Tampa is really looking for a defenceman so it could be realistic if you find the right player (Tyson Barrie, Erik Johnson)
Here from 2020. Imagine Aho on COL today.
Aho is pronounced Ah-Ho not A-ho!!
like so Johnny can see!!!
HTRogers and Jost is pronounced Joe-st
Shut up Aho
I actually just started a Colorado GM Mode a few days ago and basically went with Option C and traded everyone except for MacKinnon and Johnson. This is the squad going into Year 4:
Mittelstadt (82) - MacKinnon (90) - Schenn (88)
Jost (84) - Patrick (91) - Grigorenko (85)
Rantanen (83) - Zacha (85) - Compher (83)
Beleskey (82) - Hanzal (85) - Komarov (84)
Smith (81), Armia (81)
Provorov (84) - Carlson (90)
Gardiner (85) - Johnson (87)
Moore (83) - Bigras (82)
Wideman (81)
Murray (90)
Vehvilainen (84)
Carlson and Hanzal were both UFA signings, felt Carlson was the perfect player to help insulate the defensive core and mentor along Provorov going into Year 3, and Hanzal was a good signing as a strong 3rd/4th line center
Ayyyyy :) go Colorado !
NINJA_slayer Lol and all the referees if they ever plan on winning
I was doing a Canucks GM and I picked up Aho and Rantanen at the beginning like you. They didn't grow but Rantanen as an 82 on the 3rd line was have 20+ goal seasons.
As a canes fan it's pronounced "Ah-ho" not "Ay-ho"
Justin Hall Aho and teuvo are killing it this year just like Pesce and Slavin! Funny how our development for these young players has gotten so much better once GMJR left and a competent GM in RF took over!
Chad Boyer GMJR looks great with the pens. Those kessel, schultz and daley trades. Woooweeee looks great
di3s3l44 he also left the canes in shambles after screwing us by drafting lindholm right before Sean Monahan! TBH, is it that difficult to look good on the pens? U literally build around Malkin, Crosby, Letang, and now Murray! I will say the Kessel and Schultz trades look nice for him though! Daley has the worst corsi on the team this year though
Option B is what we wanna see, let's go
Still waiting for Canucks GM part 2
Yo Johnny, you read my comment about McDavid and high franchise. Thanks man, it makes it more realistic
If Mcdavid is a high elite matthews should be a low elite
Trade for Vancouver first they want to give it away and have a terrible record. Also trade for Winnipeg first same thing.
The Irish Ninja What's their record
22-34-5
The Irish Ninja I am slightly offended because I am a HUGE Canucks fan. They are barely out of the playoff spot
Soflow K in reality or in this Gm mode? you really shouldn't be offended since it's just a video game lol
This gm mode
Johnny you should Move Duchene for say a Larkin and and maybe a 2nd rounder, Barrie to VAN or NYR for their 1st rounder
I think Landeskog should stay on the wing with MacKinnon as they are showing good chemistry so far! But strip Landerskog of the C after the draft and run a 3 'A' system until you see who really steps up in year 2 or 3. just my thought
Keep up the great work 2BC!
Go with plan C. I would trade Duchene, and Landeskog. Jost will replace Duchene as 2C. Look to get a 1st rounder, good potential/NHL ready winger, and a solid defensive prospect in return at least.
(Possible Targets)
Jeff Skinner
Matt Tkachuk
Jonathan Huberdeau
Johnathan Drouin ;)
Nikolaj Ehlers
Check out getting a 1st and a D prospect from Philly and their deep prospect pool.
"January was a horrible year!" Johnny are you on the hash hard bud? Starting to forget the difference between months and year hahaha.
Johnny abut time you do the Colorado Avalanche. keep up the UA-cam content buddy love it
As an Avs fan this will.... naw it IS going to be way more entertaining than real life avs.
its Ahhh - ho. Āh-ho. Please dont be saying A-hole all damn GM mode.
The feeling when you finish your work on frday and rush back home to watch this episode and open a beer.
ps. Rantanen will develope well, don't worry about him. Korpisalo from Columbus could be your future franchise goalie
NICE UPLOAD SCEDULE JOHNNY FFS
go with option C.
Wait why the fuck is Calvin Pickard Med. Elite potential?!?!
i'm swiss so i'd love to to see hischier on your team (pronounced heesh-yeh. you're welcome, we don't need another namestenententnikhov or kokolachachetchev :D)
p.s. FINALLY more gm mode, it's been too long, man
one day... one day... johnny will do the habs
bigbirdgroslard not until they are bad so never?
Daniel Simon well he did the caps and the nucks while they weren't doing bad...
Grigorenko grows like hell man, definitely keep him on the squad and go with Option C
Keep Mackinnon and Rantanen no matter what. Landeskog should stay unless you trade him to Boston as there are trade rumors going on for him to Boston.
they would never trade Pasternak though
Definitely a playoff team. That 4th line will win him a cup for sure
Does Johnny actually smoke weed?
weed isnt bad so yes
IcePanther yea he had a life lessons with superbman video about that
Roman Polák well not physically, but it slows down your brain.
While your high yeah but it doesn't have any long term effects
under twenty five it can have permanent memory damage
OPTION C
I feel like Erik Johnson has a ton of trade value, Johnny.
1st overall pick in 2006
He's 28 years old, which is relatively young for a shutdown defenseman.
Instead of a second round pick, he's worth a first.
Tyson Barrie is also worth waayyy more than a second round pick.
relocate after a year or two!
lol
The golden seals
you wouldn't move a team that's only been there for 21 years and who already has 2 Stanley Cups. the Avs are doing what Johnny is doing but he's doing it better!
KeastTheBeast you can only relocate in franchise mode, he turned that stuff off.
Jakob Vrana is a good 25 goal scorer from the Capitals he is 80 overall and will grow to around to like 85 overall so you can play him in the AHL
I think you made the Canucks too bad. In real life 44 games in they have 45 points. In the game around 60 games in they have 49 points. They are one point out of a wild card spot so they should have a somewhat decent roster.
KP1202 no they're an awful organization
YES!!!! YES!!! FINALLY JOHNNY IS DOING MY AVS!!! Btw I'm posting this comment before watching the video
option c
How would that be entertaining to watch?
FATKIDPLAYS It's not, XTech's Franchise modes suck.
Nolan would definitely be a great guy to draft. For me he usually simulates pretty well especially for being a rookie i usually start on the fourth line
Trade for Gemel Smith
Option C is a very efficient way of creating a unstoppable dynasty team! I say definitely go with option C!
Trade Landeskog/Duchene and A 2nd Rounder For Connor McDavid
And Option C Is The No-Brainer Option
Sure thats realistic
Ucantseeme1233 Lol,I Was Kidding!
Any one watching the whole series in 2020? During the coronavirus pandemic
yes
my favourite series from him
BOOOOOOO Y NOT VANCOUVER
agree with option C. Do what you can to get likely top 10 picks in next 3 drafts. you can also mine teams stacked with emerging prospects like Columbus, LA, Chicago and Anaheim starting in year 2
Trade Landeskog or strip the captaincy from him. Worst captain in the fucking league.
JLPr he has no team around him. how can you say that? lol
What does he do with a team? He's still a shit leader, dude is a fucking moron. Shane Doan has no team around him and yet he is one of the best and most respected captains in the league.
JLPr id like to know how he's a "moron" lol. And the fact that Shane Doan is considered to you as one of the best captains in the league is laughable
Excuse me, that's laughable? You're obviously laughable.
I would do be and if u trade varlomov get a goalie that can save ur ass in times of need
YASSSSSSSSS FINAL THANK YOU, WE NEED A GOOD GM THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
go with option C Johnny, possibly trade for pulujarvi depending on his trade value because Edmonton sure doesn't need him and he is just going to under achieve there. I've seen him simulate well, and he is a sniper so he could play along side McKinnon in a year as an 81-84
could trade possibly landeskog for him and a second and third (depending on how high pulujarvi's trade value is)
LIKE SO JOHNNY SEES
Really interested to see where this goes! I like your idea of dropping almost everyone. Duchene is probably one who has to go along with Johnson. Hopefully you can get into that bottom 5, but things look like they are shaping up according to plan so far
Jhonny bring back fan art! It adds a funny storyline to the gm mode. Also option C is the way to go.
If cap is a problem then option c accelerated rebuild is the way to go but if cap works with you then option b is the only option
Like so johnny sees
I saw you sign a free agent goalie who the lower overall rated. That way you make him your started and pickard your backup(he's only listed as backup). Then you tank hard and you get top 5 pick and can trade your other plays for more top 5 picks/prospects. Like if you agree and so johnny can see
I say*
I agree with option C, keep MacKinnon, and good on you for giving Landeskog a chance. He could be your JVR for this GM mode. You can get a stud like Kucherov for sure under the right circumstances. But for the love of God, keep Iginla on the top line! Notice MacKinnon and Landeskog's physicality are not five stars. You need a guy who can compete, but not rule the ice, on first line who can protect those guys.
Also, split the defence up to help the young guys when the team is playing well. It'll help lose games and develop Gelinas and the other guy.
What I would do(I am a huge Av's fan from Ontario) :
OPTION A/C HYBRID
Trade everyone except Mackinnon, Pickard and Duchene with the option to hold onto Barrie/Johnson/Landeskog
The roster in theory should simulate badly, so your draft target should be Liljgren.
A Young talent to look at would be Nick Ritchie in Anaheim as a 2/3 Winger who does grow (send beauchimen+ for him)
This saves you from doing a full rebuild or a tweener stage team and at this point if guys don't develop you should have lots of assets thru the draft. Lots of other good free agents come up as well, believe Oshie usually walks in year one as well as a few in year 2
Like so Johnny sees! #MackAndDutchForCo-Captains
Wrote this while you were discussing options, but still fits, just move Landy for a good young defenseman
Yes! Finally we might do well for once. Lord GM Superbman, our savior!
good future goalie is hart on the flyers, he grows into a solid starter in 2-3 years
I remember back in NHL 2004 with the overpowered Avs top 6:
Tanguay - Sakic - Hejduk
Selanne - Forsberg - Kariya
Too bad injuries ruined that season for many of those guys, it was a beast roster on paper even with Patrick Roy gone by that time
Lord knows we need GM Superbman right about now.
Well I guess now my Colorado Avalanche franchise mode is completely overshadowed 😂😂😭😭
