One of the most sinister aspects of the Goebbellsesque strategy that 'if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it' -- is that if you repeat a lie often enough people will get tired of debunking it too.
We're there already. That's why Trump is immune to any accountability. He has an army of people protecting him and a legion of people ready to accept anything he does and says because their brains no longer can tell what is truth, what is facts and what is right, they just follow anything that feels good to them, reality be damned.

@philmckay9973 Not only is that not true. That is not even possible. Obviously, you, as a member of the cult, are compelled to claim both-sides-ism at anything that seems threatening (like truth) to the cult, but it is just more lies.

People read warning labels on meds and dangerous equipment. People make important decisions based on realistic photographs and film. Require watermarks on AI images and treat unidentified AI like we treat CP.

There needs to be more scrutiny and oversight with social media and online sites that has ‘News’ as their forte. Simply put. Only facts or you are shut down or labeled as a ‘non-news site’.

Jeeze, I consider myself pretty canny when it comes to deep fakes. Photos generally seem easier to me, to look for errors, but the Deep Jake - totally fooled me. I went back to re-watch it and still couldn't find any obvious giveaways it was AI. Anyone here spot any peculiarities that I missed with the clip?
I noticed right away. There is something mechanical and cartoonish about how deepfakes moves their mouth and jaw. The eyes are getting pretty natural though.
Eventually AI will be indistinguishable from reality, and in easy to replicate cases like with that clip I think it's already there unfortunately. Most tells we have are usually from lazy prompters anyways, attentive ones can just photoshop out the tells by hand.

The head movements are off to me, but if you’re not paying attention closely, it’s so easy to miss. Like, if you just have it on the TV in the background and you glanced up for a second or two, and went back to what you were doing, you may never know. I agree that there needs to be clear legislation on this!

Allegedly, the 4 most dangerous people on the planet: Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and smooth talking alleged Russian operatives operating in the US, Vivik Ramaswampy, and Tulsi Gabbard. It's troubling that Ramaswampy and Gabbard now have high-level profiles on the Trump team... coincidentally, after Trump's July 2024 meeting with Turkish President, Putin ally, and fellow dictator, Erdogan. It is widely believed and known that if a direct meeting between Putin and Trump were ever to be exposed, it would surely sink Trump's campaign which is why Erdogan was sent as the Messenger boy to discuss elevating Gabbard on the team, and other disturbing Putin demands. It's pretty obvious that was an AI Jake. Always look at the mouth: the lips are never quite accurate as the AI image is "talking".
You're right, it is obvious if you are watching carefully.
But that is not how millions watch/listen to the news.
I could easily tell.
