Well, I think president Buhari should have very serious dialogue with Senate minority leader, Sen. Abaribe (I personally like him/his personality), to address his concerns which seemed to be genuine. I've no doubts that president Buhari is a person of integrity, however, he should not be surrounded by fellow Hausa-Fulani clique/the Northerners only, that perception, even in a staggering young democracy with complex social-econ-pol issues is very dangerous for national unity. Africa looks to Nigeria as a regional power....it should seriously address its religious/ethnic/regional divide with common purpose/mission/goal. I suggest Nigerian political parties (and other African nations) send its young cadres to CCM/Julius Nyerere Leadership Institute, Dar es Salaam Tanzania.

@@oluolum399 I am sure there are many great nationalist/Africanist leaders from the North, South-East and South-West, including minorities in between those regions (Yakubu Gowon-comes from the North-a minority-a wise choice then). In a democracy, they will come forth/forward someday. Patience, peace/love and dialogue/moderation are virtues...after all in democracy/politics is an art of compromise, give and take.

Thanks to the peoples senator for your wise choice of words in response to the questions. For the genocide against the people of eastern Nigeria(Biafra). The president of Nigeria and General Gowon must apologise to Biafra for the loss of over 3 million civilians including children. That will assuage the feelings of the people. Open up the economy of the south east which has been under lockdown since 1970. The chemical department of UNN has been in lockdown since 1970. Mr Ladi, where in the world has history been jettisoned because we are afraid to acknowledge the atrocities of the civil war. If other sections of the country does not speak up, we will continue to move in circles while the country continues to be stiffened of growth because her true potentials are not being harnessed.

A resounding point by the moderator FWD: 18:26-40. It is quite interesting how the interview resonated with fact that the Nigerian government is yet to admit to indisputable truth of a clear case of Genocide against Biafra in the war of 1967-1970. Which unfortunately to know, the very issues that led to the Genocidal war is persistently menacing the country till date.
And until that is addressed, there can never be a progressive resolution like they have in today's Rwanda. Of which the only viable path way is, dissolution of that rickety union.

My brother I will share with you. There is a reason why teaching our national history (especially about the civil war & how our nationalities came about) is not encouraged. when the SE shout & kick about a deliberate plan to hold/keep them down, it's a fact. it is not about seeking attention or needing special favours. After the civil war, the FG declared: No Victor,No Vanquished. Unfortunately, it was an audio declaration. This is because not long after this audio declaration, The FG put up an administrative policy which stipulated that every SE person is only entitled to £20 irrespective of how much you bank balance sheet is. So if your father had £20,000, he will now only get £20 from the bank. If he had £100,000, he will only get £20. This was the official policy across Nigeria and was carried out to the later. This was to have the effect of emasculating the Igbo's economically. Then came the massive purging & victimisation of the Igbos in the civil service across the nation. The enthronement of mediocrity across our national polity began and thus its downward spiral till date. The objectives of these actions and policies are simply to "hold them down". But the Igbos have proved to be resilient, industrious, forward looking and succeeded against all odds. And continue to agitate in whatever way they can. Now you may understand. Remain blessed.

When you are giving 20pouds you will not be able to buy any share from the privatised companies. You will struggle to rehabilate, reconstruct and reconcile yourself! They wanted to exterminate the ibos that managed to survive the genocide! It happened, it's not fairy tale. Thank you.

The problem is that if there was to be equal opportunities in getting top management positions, then there would be very minimal nornorthern there! This is a fact not just my opinion. This along with laziness and incompetence of northerners leaders and politicians explains their objection to restructuring. I mean the north has huge landscapes, they have animal livestock, rubber, sugar cane, gold. So can anyone tell me why the north should be poor? I just do not get it!!

The world fears a powerful Nigeria. The world wants to weaken and control Nigeria. These tribal wars will mean nothing once Africa become a supranational political, economic, social and cultural, and racial entity. Most nations in this world are homogeneous nations so must Africa become. Nigeria must resist foreign entities from breaking it apart.

The world is already controlling your resources and every thing. It seems that you do not know what is going on. It is a shame that people like you still believe that Nigeria belongs to you. Weak up. You are a black person. It is a matter of time China will take over your super country. Stop sleeping.
