One thing about these official translators at anime conventions is that they can never seem to convey the correct meaning 100% of the time. Granted, they can usually translate the general meaning, but there's always some words or phrases that gets lost in the translation, either because of their lack of skills or there just isn't an English equivalent. Either way, for non-Japanese speakers at these panels, they are literally at the mercy of these translators, if they mess up and convey the wrong meaning or it got lost in translation, the audience wouldn't be any wiser and will just take their word for it. Learning Japanese is really the only way to enjoy these meeting to it's fullest, ensuring no details are lost
Exactly, that's just sloppy work on the translator's behalf. If they're going to be translating for a Japanese guest at an anime convention, the very least they can do is some quick research on your guest and their work biography so if a series specific term or phrases come up, they have the correct context to translate and not left hanging
Ty soooooo much for sharing.
"Ranma! Ranma! Baka!" xD
I love this series.

im so happy that のりこちゃんis doing 世良 in detective conan!!
@CrimsonNineTail Kelly Sheridan, she plays Sango and plays in a bunch of Barbie movies
Esos dos debieron ser pareja al igual que Ranma y Akane jajaja
Ranma & Akane...now Shinichi & Sera
The translator of Noriko made a lot of mistakes, better find someone to replace her.
Have you tried translating from one language to another? It is difficult.
She's a good translator. What happened is that she didn't see familiar with anime or Noriko or Kappei's works.
