The Loose Moose - Riding Fox Mountain (Williams Lake, BC)

My final ride of 2023! Being able to slot three rides in between Christmas and New Years was a wonderful blessing. Being able to do it in a location that I've haven't ridden before is even more so. The first two rides of this trip were nice, but they were mostly XC jaunts that exhausted me. This trail was the real reason I brought the bike.
The Loose Moose trail! This is relatively new trail that debuted a few years ago. I sports all sorts of wooden features, and many high-speed corners and burns. There were a couple problems though.
1 - I had to pedal up. I was worried about this after how exhausted the Fox Mountain trails made me on the previous rides. In reality, the ride up Pandora's Fox from the visitor center was actually quite nice. It allowed me to get a looked at some of the other down trails and the types of features they have.
2 - The start of Loose Moose is flat. Due to snow melt it was completely saturated. No amount of pedalling could over come that. All the neat wooden features that I came across were wasted because I couldn't muster any speed to properly send them.
The rest of the trail and dirt was amazing and worth all the climbing and slogging. Highly recommend!
