  • Making the venetian cutaway part of the archedtop with simple tool is a little bit tricky. But I manage to find a solution, I'm very happy with the result.
Again big thanks to Austin Shaner, his video about neck transition modeling point me in the right direction (Intersection curve).

Vincent, thank so much for this video. Your method is so much easier than trying to sculpt a form.

You're welcome, thank! :) I hate the sculpt environment, not precise enough for me. Bu tit took me some time before managing this simpler method (and some help from other great people!).

Another option at 5:22 instead of knowing where that point is located you can insert a point into your sketch on the Y axis and use a vertical constraint with the arc end point. Then you project that point into your next sketch and use it for the spline end point. This is how I do it for intersection curves and find it works well.

Hi Vincent, Thanks so much for your videos; I'm new in the cnc world and Fusion 360 soft (still have milk behind the ears ; ). ...Your vids are very helpful
As a swiss french speaker neighbor your accent is quite normal !!! : )
I haven't any problem with the left side, but miss something with the cutaway side. When I try to loft it's ok with the 2 sides and the first two rails but it fails when I want to close it with the last one. "Le rail n'est pas lisse"
Can you help me understand what's wrong ?
    Dan

Thanks foe the good words. I got the same problem as you. In fact it was a problem in the sketch I made, the transition between the side of the guitar and the curve for the cutaway was not good. I had some G1 constrain and everything was good after. Also you can check if you maybe have two point in place of just one. Sometime, deleting the bad part and re-doing it solve the problem. :) Hope it helps. :)
