Hi Dave, Just watched your video. My first of your - I was referred by a GF fan. I have now subscribed. Also downloaded your action. However, all GF levels buttons behave like your original action (FG 30 demo), i.e. the image itself is completely obscured / ignored. Are there any file type / size prerequisites? Running 24.7 Release Beta - Whoa seems there has been another Beta Update but still says 24.7.0 - The issue seems to be around 'double clicking the quick mask. - what / where is that function. Edit in Quick Mask mode has same outcome

Dave, thanks for expanding the horizons for the use of this new tool. I think we are only on the cusp of the usefulness to photographers of generative fill.....and you will be one of the leaders in that endeavor. Keep 'em coming.

Dave, I FINALLY got around to playing with this. I got some delightful results from dragging the opacity or the fill sliders back after generating a painting. Kind of excited with this discovery. I worked with landscapes only for this trial. Think there is a world of possibilities with this. All the best from Minnesota.

Thank you for a great video on the very exciting topic of using generative fill in Photoshop and introducing us to many of the possible results!

Dave, Thanks for thought provoking video. I had a go at this with some of my images in different styles and got some very intersting results. I found that if the look was way over the top for me then simply reducing the opacity of the layer got results that were easier on the eye.

Thank you so much! This is really helping to explore many new variations. The actions make this so much easier. I have been trying to remember to change the GF layer name to reflect the level of the action so I don't lose track of how I achieved something I really love. When I forget, how do I find out which was used? Is there a parameter or setting I can look at to figure that out? I regularly forget what I did...old age thing I think! Keep it up! Can't wait for the next installments!

Thanks for taking the time to play and show us this. One thing I’m wondering is what happens if you select the subject at one level and the background at another level. Can you get a faithful subject and abstract background? All the examples I’ve seen so far use the same level of selection throughout the whole image.

I'm getting the reverse of what's indicated in your video. The lower numbers work ok but the higher numbers are giving completely different results from the image working on.

NOTE: For the Action to work correctly, DOUBLE CLICK on the QUICK MASK Icon in the Tool Bar and make sure you have Quick Mask set to SELECTED AREAS and not MASKED AREAS. After you change it to SELECTED AREAS you will need to CLICK on the QUICK MASK Icon to get out of QUICK MASK mode.

PS Beta v. 24.7.0 on Mac. The higher I go with the GF, the weirder it gets. Oil paint is a disaster but vector makes a pretty nice picture at GF30.

It does takes experimenting to find the right number.

For me its just the reverse...GF Painting 95 is the most abstract, GF Painting 30 is the least. I love your Photo to Art Series, looking forward to PART 3, 4, 5, ----- to infinity and beyond!

Same here. Mac. Very funky results. I was working with a picture of a child and over 50 opacity actions come back with portraits of saints and popes.

@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly Q brings up the QUICK MASK but I do not get the option for SELECTED AREAS or MASKED AREAS. I did try hitting "B" but the "oil paint" results were the exact same.
