I was never able to find the time to do a full video on The Darkest Timeline, so thank you for doing this. It's great! Keep in mind that the Index can be controlled via CV, too (CV In #3). So the length might be 8, but you can wind the starting point of that 8-step sequence to any of the 32 steps in real time, for more generative fun. Thanks again!
Thank you! Been meaning to get back into making O_C videos for a while and this was one of the most requested. I only realised after I finished shooting that I forgot to show the CV control over Index, and also setting probability to 100% and reversing the sequencer.
@@SynthDad you are welcome and I tried recording CV from Batumi. Now I need to get a Mixwitch to record pitch CV and try some things you showed in the video. This and Enigma are super awesome!
@@SynthDad That would be interesting. In your videos I see a few modules that you have set up (most of the time). Two examples being Pam's and Twin Waves, but I also remember you using the Deluge in earlier videos which you haven't featured for a while, or not that I've seen. You also often have a few modules on the edge of the video - the Joranalogue Filter 8 being such an example. Interestingly, since this is an O_C video, I should add, I often use the Deluge in conjunction with O_C. It's really useful when triggering different pitch steps on a sequence in O_C (in Sequins as an example). This way you can create some quite complex sequences that you really control, making it pass though chord progressions etc. Anyhow, it's always interesting to pass by to see you videos which are full of tips, tricks and other very useful information - and often some nice musical examples too! Thanks again.
As always another extremely well done video of one of the O_C apps…I find myself using Enigma a lot but will definitely be trying Darkest Timeline this week…would love to see a video for Enigma…only downside so far with Enigma is there doesn’t appear to be a way have it set where you start a saved sequence
Glad it was helpful! I'm working on the Enigma tutorial now; actually planning on covering ShiftGate, ShiftReg, Enigma Jr and Enigma as they are all interrelated.
@@SynthDad awesome, can’t wait…as much as I love Enigma, it’s frustrating trying to get it to track saved sequences so they are in beat with my overall drums…come back to the same sequence after switching and it will start at a completely different place
Ugh, my brain won't let me track the moving timeline, not sure why they didn't just have the highlighted step move along like every other sequencer made!
This is one of my favorite seqs in o_C. I would use the WMD arpitecht to record cv and prob and pitch down DT's alternative timeline for weird basslines. I believe you can send your cv to change direction, right?
You can transpose using CV4 and you can reverse direction using a gate high at digital input 2. I think recording from other sequencers into it is a good idea - lots to explore!
Ace info on o-c Synthdad, I haven’t updated to Hemispheres yet, hope it’s easy also seen Vidio of Dash Glitch who uses 3 O-C in his live case, he reckons it’s saved 100hp of other module in his rig, really versatile module O-C Cheers for your advice , many thanks🆒🎶🎶👌👌🌟👍
You're an incredibly useful resource for the community. Thank you so much.
My pleasure!
Dude!!!! you're like a grand master modular wizard! Thanks!!
Thank you! Never thought of myself that way - do I get a robe and pointy hat?
I love Ornament and Crime so much, I bought two. One for hemispheres the other for stock firmware. No regrets.
Same, such a dope module.
Same
agree 100% O&C and Disting EX are swiss army knife tools of modular eurorack
Man, I’m sitting here watching this, thinking exactly that.

Thank you for all the hard work you do. There’s so much I want to learn but I’ll just leave it at thank you. I love you man!
Thank you so much!
These O&C video tutorials are excellent. Thank you so much.
Wow, this really is just an absolute powerhouse of a module.
It is! Very powerful, very flexible but takes some work to get to grips with it
Oh.. that’s very nifty. No wonder people like that module.
Subed for more.
Love these O_C tutorial videos, so inspiring 👏
Thank you!
Great tutorial on this sequencer and just ordered my first O&C as it has soo many useful tools for modular systems in small format.
Glad it was helpful!

Man that looks like some clever stuff - beyond my fragile mind but sounds great! Love your mini-modular rig
Thanks! It takes some study but all makes sense after a while :)
With all these great videos, I'd be curious to see you talk about the modules (and gear too) you use the most.
That’s a good suggestion - I might well make that for something a little different

“Pattren” 😂 thanks for your videos enjoy them all
Glad you like them!
very cool tutorial. I can't wait to see more on this.
Thanks - planning more tutorials on it
Great Tutorials as always, really Mindblowing !
Glad you like them!
Great walk-through, thanks! Dug the techno break. :)
Thanks Stu - Glad you enjoyed it! Techno Break ftw!
Yeah, techno break was great! More mini jam breaks, please!
Great stuff. Cemented my thought on nabbing an O&C.
You should! Thanks!

The module that keeps giving.
It sure is!

Time is an illusion. Musical time even more so.
thank you for the great tutorial
You are welcome!
Do people use more than one of these in their racks? It feels like there would be use for multiple apps at once?
Well I have 4 of them and often combine two of them in a setup. So yes I think that people do that
I love you for this!
You're welcome!
I think the answer is no, but is there any way to manually edit a step's pitch or probability?
I don’t think so unfortunately
@@SynthDad OK thanks. Just came across your Benispheres video, didn't even know that was available. Nice work :)

Thanks! I have a video showing how to upgrade to Hemispheres also on my channel if you want to see what's involved.
@@SynthDad I find both firmwares useful in different ways such that I ended up building myself two uO_c's
Thanks dad!
